Vrases was known throughout this small section of desert. Every night he came swooping down and devouring another member of this diverse kingdom. He was arrogant, but that was because he always got his prey. He couldn't even remember the last time he missed a night, he enjoyed killing so much that he never let the sun rise without blood being spilled. Tonight was no different, he was ready to kill and nothing will ever stop him.
Vrases had just taken to the sky after finishing off a small snake that stuck it's head out just a little too far, but to him it was too easy a kill. He decided this wasn't worthy enough to satisfy his hunger and without hesitation went in search of a better, tastier, prey. As he hovered above, he could see everything, the rabbits tail sticking out of its hole ever so slightly, the scorpion on his march to find his own meal, and then suddenly he catches the perfect treat, a little grasshopper mouse. The reason this mouse caught his eye was because it was speeding towards the scorpion with a black in his eyes. He knew this mouse was about to kill and that only fueled his list even more. He found a good vantage point and witness the entire fight, watching, waiting. He followed every movement they made, and memorized every parcel of that delectable mouse. One thing he did not expect though, was how enjoyable to fight was, the little mouse knew what it was doing, he kept just enough distance away from the stinger and antagonized the scorpion until he lunged, each time the mouse got behind it and torn another piece of its shell apart. It did not take long for the mouse to take down the scorpion, and feast in the glory of his battle. This only appeased Vrases more and more, he was ready for his own battle and the little mouse had no idea what was in store.
