Yane POV:
The day went smoothly, costumers were nice as always and the day was enjoyable.
Soon the day came to an end and it started raining. No one expected the rain and neither did the weather forecasters.
Our coffee shop did have free umbrellas for days like these, but there were non left for me. Fuka and Itsu left under one umbrella and I was left alone, hiding under the roof of our shop.
I was wearing a t-shirt with some short jeans, so, I'd probably get sick if I went out. I picked up my phone and dialed Kiyoshi's number and waited for him to pick up.
The phone rang for a while and finally I heard his voice from the other side, "Yane? What is it?" I just sighed before saying, "There are no umbrellas left at the shop and I didn't bring my own. I was wondering if you could pick me up. Only if you're free though."
Kiyoshi didn't say anything for a while which got me a bit worried. "Kiyoshi? Are you alright?" I asked.
"Ah yeah, I just. I'm kinda busy right now. I don't think I'll be able to pick you up. I won't be free in an hour and a half. I'm really sorry babe. Is there someone else you can contact?" He said a bit upset at himself.
"Ah it's fine babe. I'll call someone else then. Good luck with what you're doing then. Bye, love you." I said. He returned my affection and we hung up.
I just sighed as I thought about who else I could call. I thought of Fuka and Itsu but they're probably tired after a busy day. I just sat there at one of the tables staring outside the glass wall, as I thought about what I should do.
At the end I decided to run my way home. I knew that the chances of catching a cold were high if I did that, but I had to get home somehow. I picked up my backpack and hugged it tightly. I picked up the keys and slowly headed out. I locked the door and started running for it.
I didn't really watch where I was going, so I ended up bumping into a man and fell down onto the cement ground. My hands and knees got a bit injured. There was a small amount of blood starting to form up around the open wound.
I looked up to see who the person was, and saw Dabi reaching his hand out for me. I smiled as I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
"I'm sorry." I quickly said rubbing the back of my neck. Dabi didn't let go of my hand for a while which made me flustered.
"Umm... I have to go now." I said trying to get him to let go. He didn't let go and leaned over to my ear and said, "You're blushing, cutie."
I quickly flinched at his words and tried to hide my face but he gently held my chin and lifted my head up to look at him.
"Don't hide that cute face of yours." He said in a husky voice. I blushed even more and said, "D-Dabi... you know that I have a boyfriend... P-Please let g-go..." I stuttered at the end. Saying each word was hard. I hesitated but at the end I spilled it out.
He let go and said, "I'm sorry. I think I'm being delusional from the cold." I sighed and offered, "Let's go to my house. You can dry yourself there and go home using my umbrella. How does that sound?"
Without a second thought or hesitation he said, "Yes please. I hope it's not too much to ask for."
I just smiled before grabbing his cold hands and making a run for the house. I was having slight pains from the fresh wounds I got.
Then suddenly Dabi stopped making me slightly fall back, but he caught me in his arms, making me blush slightly . I pushed myself off of him and gave him a questioning look.
"You're hurt. Let me carry you." I looked at him in shock as my red flushed red. I swear I must've looked like a tomato at the moment.
Dabi took off his jacket and placed it on me, then suddenly swung his hands around my back and then my legs, picking me up. I yelped at his unexpected actions and hung my arms around his neck, afraid to fall.
He looked down at me with a warm smile as I childishly scolded, "Hey! Next time warn me before you do that!"
He let out a small giggle and said, "So I do have your permission to do it again." I flinched at his words and covered my face in embarrassment.
"Don't drop me." I said through my hands. I felt him nod and he started to jog his way to my house. His jacket covered me up while he was drenched in rain. I kinda felt guilty. I looked at his face as he ran and his wet, longish hair was no longer spiked up.
I felt a small warm smile creep onto my face, and it disappeared as soon as it appeared when I thought about how weird this might look.
I had a boyfriend and I told myself to try and keep myself away from Dabi, but, even so, every time I saw him my heart would start to pound fast.
Soon we arrived to my apartment complex and I led the way towards my apartment. We walked in both soaking wet. "Make yourself home." I said while taking off my shoes.
I quickly walked in and headed to the bathroom to get a towel for the both of us. I took the best and softest one out, just for him. I walked back out and gave him the towel. He took the it and started drying his hair.
"Why don't you take a shower?" I offered. He looked at me and walked over. His face leaned in towards mine and said, "Only if you join me." His voice was seductive which made my face flush red again.
I slightly pushed him back and said, "I think you're still delusional from the rain." He just stood back up straight and said, "Yeah, I think I'll take a shower."
I then nodded and walked him over to the restroom. He walked in and I closed the door behind him. Then I walked into my room to get him some new clothes.
I picked out some over sized sweatpants, a white t-shirt, which was also a few sized too big for me, and some fresh white socks I've never worn before. In their folded state I walked over to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
I got a 'hm?' in return and I said," I got some clothes for you. I don't know if they're the right size but I think they'll do. I'll leave them outside the door." I got a thank you in return as I gently put the clothes onto the floor. I changed into new clothes myself and headed to the kitchen to fix some food.
I took out the frying pan and poured some oil into it while turning on the stove, and placing the pan on it. After a few minutes I put in bacon and some eggs in which caused the oil to sizzle up.
I put a lid on the frying pan and left it to cook a bit. I took out 2 mugs and set them on the table before pouring water into the kettle and boiling it up.
The food and tea were ready to go in a few minutes. Dabi walked into the kitchen right on time, and the clothes I got for him seemed to fit just fine.
"You're right on time. I prepared dinner for us." I cheerfully said. He walked over and sat down in front of one of the plates and said, "This looks good. Thanks." I smiled back and started eating.
"Hey, you didn't get me any boxers." The food in my mouth dropped back onto the plate when I heard his sentence. My face once again, flushed red and I looked at him and said, "S-Sorry... w-what d-did you w-wear then?" I stuttered, and barely said it. I said it so quietly that he might've not even heard it.
"I'm not wearing anything." He simply said. I blushed even more and covered up my burning face with my hands. He just let out a chuckle and said, "I'm joking. Sorry about that." I just nodded in response, still covering up my face.
We finished eating and I cleaned the table and washed the dishes. The rain settled down a bit and was now only sprinkling a little. As I was doing so Dabi sat down at the table, observing every small move I made. It kinda gave me the chills, but I didn't say anything.
"Anyways, would you let me wash your clothes? You can pick them up tomorrow at the coffee shop." I offered while doing the dishes.
He replied with a 'hm' and continued to stare me down. "So what did you think of the food?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation going.
"It was amazing. I don't know how to cook, so I always go with instant noodles." She replied. I hummed in response and said, "How about I teach you sometime? Call me over, ok." He replied with another 'hm.'
I finished washing the dishes and wiped my wet hands on my shirt as I walked over to Dabi and sat down across him. I rested my chin on my hands and stared at the scarred man.
"I think you should leave now." I said while getting up. "I have a few masks in the bathroom if you need them." I added at the end.
I walked towards my room, leaving him behind and picked up my phone and walked back to the kitchen. "I don't think we exchanged numbers yet." I said holding the phone in front of him.
He just shrugged and said, "How about you give me your number and I give you a call later." I nodded and said, "Sure thing. Than I'll give you my number tomorrow alongside with your clothes."
"Sure." He said in return before getting up and walking over towards the exit. I followed him behind. He put on his shoes as I got an umbrella for him to take. I handed the umbrella over to him and said, "Here, it's still raining outside. And there's a wire sticking out. I never got the chance to get a new one so please deal with it. Thanks for coming over."
He opened the umbrella and the wire I was talking about cut my palm open. It wasn't that bad but it did sting and blood was starting to form up fast. I clutched my hand into a fist, trying to stop the blood but it didn't work.
Dabi quickly noticed and grabbed my hand to open it up. "I'm so sorry, Yane. I'm so careless. What have I done?" He immediately said in panic.
I just rubbed the back of my neck with my other hand and sheepishly said, "I guess it's not my day today. It's fine, don't worry about it."
"Do you have a small container or something of the sort?" He asked. I looked at him, confused and said, "Yeah. What did you need it for?"
He just shrugged and said, "Can you put some of your blood in it and give it to me? Sorry if it sounds weird. Please don't question me." I just nodded in confusion and quickly headed to my room to get a empty plastic tube (idk what they're called but you get my point) to pour in my blood. I did it and walked back to where he was and handed him the blood.
"Here." I said. He took the plastic tube and shoved it into his pocket before opening the door and heading out. "I'll see you tomorrow then." He said with a wave. I waved back as he closed the door behind and I locked the door.
I walked back into my room and jumped into bed squeezing my pillow tightly, completely forgetting about my bleeding hand and squealing like a pig in excitement.
I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to clean Dabi's clothes. I stuffed them in the laundry and waited for it to wash up, meanwhile I took out a first aid kit and fixed up my hand and went back to my room to write my phone number on a piece of paper.
I got all the things ready for tomorrow and headed to bed.
