"Apep step away from those wolves," I heard an unfamiliar voice say from behind us as well as the hissing of snakes. Sara and I spun around to see a woman and a man standing side by side behind us. 'Who are they?' I wonder.
"Mother, Farther why are you here? What's wrong?" Apep asked the two strangers who weren't even 2 meters away."Son get away from those wolves," I heard the women he called mother call in a angry yet concerned voice.
"Sara, Selene come away from that snake now," Selenes farther yelled fangs bared. He was in a defensive position preparing to fight if he has to. "Farther what do you mean serpent?" Selene asked in comfusion."That boy is the son of the serpent king," her farther proclaimed.
Sara and Selene stared at Apep in disbalief. He couldn't be, could he?
"Step away from my daughter snake," Farther yelled.
"Do not speak to my son like that you mangey mutt," the man in black trousers with a green top that was standing behind Apep, beside the women yelled in a commanding voice.
"How dare you speak to me like that," Selenes farther roared in anger "I am king of wolves you discusting serpent!"
"If anyone here is discusting it's you," the king of serpents hissed at Selenes farther. They continued this the hissing behind the king and queen got louder and the howls behind Selenes farther became louder.
Above the two goddesses watched this scene as it unravelled and were not pleased at it. However, Leto goddess of wolves and Angitia godess of serpents decided not to intervene. Well atleast...not yet.
Meanwhile back down on earth the king of wolves and the king and queen of the Serpents were still fighting."ENOUGH!!!" Selene yelled, everyone turned to look at her. "Stop your childish bickering and please explain what's going on," she said as politely as possible as to not upset either of them.
Her fathers shock wore off first."Daughter as you already know that the wolves and snakes have been enemies for eons and that boy is the prince of the snakes. Now you and Sara should come here immediately so we can head home I don't want a fight."
"For once we agree," the snake king said "let's go Apep."
"I'm sorry," Apep apologised to the two girls before turning around and heading towards his parents. He and his parents left the sound of snakes became a mere whisper in the breeze the sun had begun to set and had started to paint the sky a crimson red.
Selenes farther came and lade a hand on one of her shoulders and did the same to Sara "we must return home now," her farther said and turning around we headed for home.
It's been 9 years since then and the arguments between the snakes and wolves have only become worse over the years. Selenes continued her studies and shes grown into a beautiful 14 year old girl or so her farther says. Shes still best friends with Sara.
"Little cub are you ready for your classes?" hrr farther asked as he entered her room "Almost farther," she teplied over the years her voice had become as sweet as nectar. Her farther looked at her with a loving look in his eyes but the was something else in them in looked like remembrance of a far away memory so close but just out of reach.
"What's wrong farther?" she asked him curiously "Nothings wrong little cub I'm just remembering a memory from long ago about your mother," he replied a sweet smile on his face."About mother?" she asked wondering what on earth he could be remembering.
Seeing the question in her eyes he continued "Yes I was remembering your mother. You look so much like her with your raven black hair flowing down just past your feet and your silver eyes that shine under the star sky, skin as fair as snow and your lips and red as blood. Your a spitting image of her my cub if only she could be here to see you."
Getting up from her seat Selene walked over and gave her farther a hug "I know farther," she said "come on, lets go we have to get to the training area before Sierra gets annoyed that I'm late."
"Of course little cub let's go," he said as they walked through the woods when they came apon a women and two men and strangely enough they looked...familliar in a way. But why?
"King Quetzalcoatl, Queen Anemone and Prince Apep I can't say it's a pleasure to see you today." Selenes farther said to the three people in front of them "King Fenrir and I presume this is your daughter Princess Selene I too didn't expect to run in to you today," the man who her farther addressed as King Quetzalcoatl said to them.
Unfortunately, from there everything began to unravell and an argument arose from well who knows where. Little did the fighting rulers know, the goddesses Leto and Angitia were watching and these petty disbutes angered them. So they decided to take action, to end this insufferable dispute between snakes and wolves once and for all.
The rulers were still arguing while their children tried to get them to stop and just leave. When all of a sudden the queen of snakes collapsed and was caught by her husband just in time.
