Chapter 7 - The quest of the goddess' begins (2)

We'd just started are journey into the forest of Et obscuratus. Before the war broke out between are two clans they worked together to protect and well in a way rule over forests and Et obscuratus was the first of many but back then it had no name. They called it Et obscuratus to symbolise their friendship for snakes prefer day where wolves prefer night however Et obscuratus translates in Latin to eclipse and both the sun and moon have eclipses.

We all still live in Et obscuratus however no one dare ventures as far as Apep and I must. 'I'm not sure how well Apep and I will work together' I thought 'however I don't want to give up on trying to become friends with him just because of our ancestors pasts. Why should that stop us from atleast trying to become friends?...."

I was inturupted from my train of thought by Apep. "Ummm...." he began looking a little shy "Thank you." This caught me a little of guard. Why was he thanking me?

"What are you thanking me for?" I asked turning my head slightly to look at him without slowing my pace. He lifted his head and looked at me also not slowing his pace. "For coming with me on this mission. I mean I know the goddess' didn't give you much of a choice and you probably don't like me very much. You know you being a wolf and me a snake but I appreciate your help stopping this war and saving my mum. So thank you," he said.

"There's really no need to thank me. I mean for starters, I don't hate you and I can't say that I hate snakes I mean I know the history but it doesn't make me hate you or even dislike you. It happened eons ago and it's stupid to act like this over it so I want to put an end to this war. Besides, I'm happy to help your mum she's never done any wrong to me and all life is precious also I know what it's like to loose your mum I was only two but I still remember her." I replied to him remembering my mum always made me sad yet happy at the same time.

"Oh I'm sorry about your mum, " he said sincerely "wasn't she the queen of the wolves Queen Accalia. From what I heard when I was around three she was well loved and cherished among her people...wait weren't you four when she died?" he asked.

It caught me off guard queen Accalia was my mum just not my birth mum she was my adopted mum however she died to years later.

"Sorry I didn't mean to be rude," he said apolageticly.

"Oh. Don't worry your not being rude it's just Queen Accalia was my second mother she and my adopted farther King Ferrari took me in when I was only two she died to years later. My adopted parents apparently new my mother but didn't know who my farther was. Farther told me that my mum gave me to them so they could look after me as their own. Apparently she gave me to them to keep me safe because someone was after her and she had to face them alowne know one knows what happened to her or even if she survived but they do know that her enemies either think me dead or just can't find me bur either way they've never come after me." I explained and he just listened intently paying attention to every word I said.

"If you don't mind me asking who was your birth mum?" he asked curiously yet gently it was sweet.

"I don't mind you asking at tall. My mums name was Nyx after the goddess of the night I was only young but I remember she had the beauty of a godess."

"She sounds stunning I'm guessing she was a wolf like you otherwise I'm guessing you wouldn't be one unless you were turned into one," he said as we continued talking as we ventured farther and farther into the forest.

"I presume she was a wolf I mean I know I was never turned but I never found out my real last name and my farther never mentioned how they all met or about her being a wolf so I just presumed she's a wolf." I explained.

"Maby your dad didn't like talking about it?" he inquired.

"Yeah, your probably right." I agreed with him behind us the sun started to set "We should stop and find somewhere to set up camp for the night the suns starting to set anf we'll need our rest for tomorrow we've got a lot of ground to cover."

"Yeah, that'd be best," he agreed and we began to setup camp.
