Chapter 40 - The Boy the Demon Liked

Mark

"Haechan—"

"Noooo." He groaned before I could even tell him what I was supposed to say. I laughed at this. I would normally frown but I was too much in a good mood to even feel any negativity. "I don't want to be involved with you anymore. Go away."

I chuckled and handed him the juice box Forest gave me yesterday before everything became that way. "Forest said to give it to you."

He frowned and stared at the juice box. He grabbed it wheezing in disbelief. "Wow, that girl is really… A juice box? Really? How will she win me over a juice box?"

"Haechan," I called and this time, he doesn't cut me off. "Yesterday…" I felt shy telling Haechan about it but I feel like my heart will explode if I don't share it. "Forest told me that she sort of likes me." I cringed at myself for saying that out loud.

He arched a brow at me, not replying anything.

"Say something. You're making me feel uncomfortable." I said, covering my face with my arms in shame.

"So what? Why are you telling me?"

I looked at him in disbelief. "Because!" I exclaimed rubbing my heated ears. "I told her some cheesy things and I told her I'm taking her on a date and all that and I just don't know what to do after that and Valentine's is coming. I don't know! I'm—"

"God, Mark! You're telling me she just confessed to you and you have no idea what to do." Yes? "You're seriously asking me what you're supposed to do next when you literally just told me you asked her out yourself. How does that make any sense?!"

I buried my face over my palms anxiously. "Can you believe it, Haechan?" I don't hear him reply. "Because I can't. It feels like a dream." I hear him grunt so I sat back up to see him. He wore an uninterested look on his face which he often does whenever I talk to him about Forest. "It feels like yesterday when I first told you about her."

"No, it feels like a century actually. You're going on about her everyday it feels like forever."

I sneered at his comment. Maybe he's right but it's only been six months since Forest took my drink. I count the days. It's been six month but my feelings for her were still as strong as I did the first time I said it out loud.

"What exactly are you so stressed about?" He plucked the straw onto the juice box and gives me a questioning look when I watched him do it with a teasing glare. "What?" He poked his chin over my direction. "This better not be poison."

She said that. I let out a small chuckle at the thought. "I don't know what to do."

"What do you mean you don't know what to do?!" I flinched from the rise of his voice. "You're making me so frustrated." He took a sip from the juice box. "You're the last person who wouldn't know what to do."

I frowned. "But I don't."

"How in the world did you think I would help you with this? You're the only one who can know what type of date she would like so don't ask me about this."

I'm the only one who can know what type of date she would like. I guess he's right. Haechan wouldn't know. I guess, I thought I could just bring her to dinner and that's good enough but now, maybe that's not really a good idea.

"If you don't know," He paused, frowning at me. "Then maybe you don't like her after all."

Forest

Han and I sat in the room waiting for our late teacher. She kept babbling about this stupid party she's attending tonight. I wasn't really interested but I was more uninterested of these bitches who can't stop putting powder on their face in front of me and their powders were going all over my face.

"What do you th—"

I stood from my chair and slapped the girl's compact powder out of her hands exclaiming, "Can you please do your fucking makeup in the bathroom? You're getting you shitty powder in my mouth."

The girl frowned and moved away from me.

I rolled my eyes and sat back down my chair in relief. I should have done that earlier. I thought she was going to do it once but she couldn't stop doing it.

"Chill, bitch. You're scaring the poor baby."

"Fuck her."

Han snorted out loud and brings both her feet up in her table. "Anyway, are you coming to the party tonight? I heard Hunter's out of town for drug shit. You and your baby will be safe tonight."

I glared at her. You and your baby? What the fuck does that have to do with me? "When was I ever unsafe? I'm not going to another boring ass party."

"It's not going to be boring tonight, I swear!" She deliberately shook her head, desperate to have me there tonight. "Kelvin's hosting it after all."

Huh. Kelvin always did host the best parties. He serves expensive tasty vodkas. Maybe I should attend after all and have my shift by midnight. "I'll see what I can do."

"Bitch you better be there! You know he buys his shit overseas. They're hella expensive and just straight boujee!"

"I know that."

"So see you tonight then."

I was on my to my first afternoon class when Mark suddenly showed up. He explained why he didn't show up at lunch which I didn't think was really necessary for my part. I wasn't really expecting him. In fact, I was glad I had a peaceful lunch for one.

"I'm free this hour. Do you have a class?"

"Yep."

He frowned. "What about after?"

"Yep."

"What about on Saturday?"

"Yep."

"Hey!" He stopped me by the shoulder and made me turn to him. I crouched away in shock. I was about to speak but he did. "You're not paying attention to me."

I creased my brows in confusion. "Since when did I have to pay attention to you?"

"Since you told me you like me." He leaned closer to me and emphasized each word. "People normally feel shy after they confess. You're not acting like that at all."

"Yeah because that's you."

His eyes widened and I see him gulp.

"I have a class. Get out of my way." I pushed him away from me and continued walking away. It's a good thing he didn't follow because if he did, I might have punched him.

"I'll walk you to your class!"

I hear him yell. "Get your own ass back to your class!" Then he laughed.

"I'll see you at Chemistry class then!"

I shook my head in disbelief. He really is one amusing guy. I was about to walk down the hallways when Connie suddenly appeared, her arms crossed with her very furrowed brows. What's this bitch's deal again?

"What's with you and Mark?" She asked the moment I got closer to where she stood.

I looked away, wheezing in disappointment. I expected more from her but she's asking me such stupid question. When did her brain get so weedy? "What's in it to you?"

"Everyone knows I love Mark."

Love. I snorted out loud making sure it was as insulting as it can be. "What does that have to do with me?" I smirked at her direction. She sure is in love with him. She wouldn't look this fucking angry if she didn't.

"He's mine."

I raised a brow. "He's no one's."

Her cute tiny fists balled the moment she let her arms fall to her side. She's making me want to annoy her more. Should I tell her I'm dating that kid? Fuck. I'm desperate to annoy the shit out of her but I wouldn't use people to my pleasing. "He'll realize the things I've done for him and he'll be mine sooner or later."

I shook my head and walked pass by her saying, "Good luck with that. Your crush seem head over heels for me." I froze clenching my fists when I felt something hit my head hard. I looked down and saw a book fallen on the ground.

"Mark doesn't like you! He just thinks he does because you seduced him!"

I turned back around to face the bitch. I tilted my head in frustration. "Can you not tell me that without throwing your fucking book?"

"No."

I walked closer to her and she stood still trying not to run away but ever her eyes can't hide her fear. I grabbed her collar, pulled them up so I can talk to her at ease and she flinched hard. "If you throw me your book one more time, I'm gonna fucking burn your plastic nose. Got that?"
