Chereads / Loving Lisbeth Salander / Chapter 36 - The Burning Cabin

Chapter 36 - The Burning Cabin

Liar.I haven't been to an outdoor party before. This is a pretty fucking cool concept for parties. I wonder why people don't hold parties like these - they're much better. Natural ventilation, good nature, the loud music doesn't break your ears the way indoor parties do - I like it a lot more than I ever thought.

"No! Please don't! Please!"

I turned and saw a group of people, hurdling over this girl that they had on their hands. The girl kept screaming and shrieking but the party was too loud for anyone to notice and the few ones who noticed didn't give a shit about her.

"Please don't do this! Please! I'm begging you!"

The girl cried even more and I just stood there watching from afar.

When our eyes met, I felt my whole body flinch. Her eyes were screaming help but she was helpless. Her mouth was open but it felt like she was running out of words that could make people help her. I gripped the bottle of beer I had in my hand, frowning at this scenario that was happening right before my eyes.

"Help..."

The girl whispered but for some reason, I heard. I heard her loud and clear.

Before I decided to move and help the girl, the group already had her locked in this small cabin just a few meters away from where the party was actually happening. The group were all laughs and joy as they mocked the girl they locked inside.

"This is what you get for interfering with other people's business!"

A group of men started pouring gas all over the place that made me run closer to where they were doing all of these.

"Have fun there loser!"

"And try to get out alive."

My eyes widened when a man appeared from the back with a torch that's been light up with fire. "Hey!" I yelled catching the group's attention. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" I shouted at them, poking the man that was ordering the others around.

"If it isn't Forest Young."

I don't even know who the fuck this was.

"Did you come here to witness the fun?"

"No! Please! Please let me out! I promise I won't do it again! Just please!"

My head turned back to the girl that was trying to reach her hand out of the cabin's small window. She looked hurt. They must have beaten her before they dragged her all the way here and now they're planning to burn her. "What are you doing with that fire?" I asked.

The man scoffed. "Come on. This is just for fun!" Fun? "After we light it up a little, we'll let her right out!"

Liar.

"Please! I don't want to die!"

"Put that fire down." I glared at the guy that was holding the torch.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You're barging into our business like it's yours!" The leader yelled pushing me back.

I clenched my jaws before breaking my knuckles in frustration. "Get your stupid dog to throw the torch now."

"Fuck you."

I grabbed the guy's hand twisted it and broke it with my knees before elbowing his back so he'd fall down the ground. The rest of the people in their group, backed off as I marched towards the guy with the torch next.

He mocks the torch over my direction but I was careful to dodge it before it burns a part of my clothes.

The moment I got an opening, I grabbed the guy's wrist that was holding the torch, twisted it so he'd let go of it before I kneed him by the abdomen. The guy screamed in pain. As soon as he dropped the torch, my eyes widened when the fire started running from the ground to the cabin.

"Shit!" I exclaimed and watched the fire blow all the way up to its roof.

"Help!"

I ran over the window, heart pounding fast as I went back and forth between the girl and the fire that was building up fast. "I'm sorry! I was just trying to help... I-I didn't know it would be like this." I shook my head frantically.

The girl started coughing and there was smoke steaming out of the small openings of the cabin. "P-Please... Just help me... Please..."

"I'll get you out of here okay? Just cover your mouth and nose for a while! Hang in there!" I ran back at the door and tried opening the door but it was locked. I grabbed the guy back in my hands. "Where's the key?!" I yelled.

The lunatic laughed.

"WHERE IS IT?!" I gripped his collar even tighter.

"We threw it away." He laughed.

"You fucking shitface!" I pushed him back hard and started bumping myself over the door in hopes that I could somewhere open it even if I knew it would be next to impossible. The fire was getting bigger and the flames were starting to get to the surface. The hot waves were starting to burn my skin and I still can't move this fucking door.

I ran back to the window and saw the girl wrapping half of her face with her arms. She looked at me with the most desperate eyes.

"I'll go get help. Stay away from the fire okay?! I'll come back! I promise!"

I ran away from the cabin and headed back inside the penthouse finding a phone. When I saw one, the line was beeping in a not-working manner so I slammed the phone back looking for Han or Hunter or any of the shitholes that I came here with but I couldn't find them.

This is why people need to have phones and I'm too stubborn to have one for myself.

"Hello there, Forest."

I turned and saw Vivian, walking up to me. I stepped away from her. "I got no time for you."

She scowled, pulling me back. "Don't you dare walk away from me."

I gritted my teeth. "I don't have time for your fucking games, Vivian! Just leave me the fuck alone!"

She suddenly slapped me in the face which made my mood even worse. "Don't talk to me like that. You think I already forgave you for sleeping with Trevor? I haven't and you're paying for it tonight. Boys."

A group of men walked closer to me and surrounded the shit out of me. They were big and I'm sure I won't be able to fight them head to head but this bitch just slapped me when she's the one who did me wrong for the past few days.

When the first two men came forth to attack me, I was fine. I was able to dodge and hit a few punches over their faces but right now, I just wanted to hit Vivian's fucked up face for hitting me like that. The moment the three other men came to me, I was hopeless.

They punched me here and there until I was coughing blood and I was fallen down the floor, glancing up to Vivian who was wearing a cocky grin. She kicked me by the face that made me roll to the other side, hurting all over my body.

"Bitch." I mumbled.

"Holy shit! The cabin's on fire!"

The cabin...

"I'll go get help. Stay away from the fire okay?! I'll come back! I promise!"

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Before I knew it, the sirens were already echoing in my head and everything went black.
