Chereads / Loving Lisbeth Salander / Chapter 30 - The Boy's Dilemma

Chapter 30 - The Boy's Dilemma

"Forest! Holy shit! You've been gone for ages! Where the hell did you run off to, bitch?!" Han wrapped her arms around my shoulder. We were in a room with the gang without Hunter. Wesley and Becca were making out in the couch and Jacob just entered with more beer in his hands.

They're all the same fucking losers. I shove Han's arms off me and grabbed a beer Jacob just landed on the table. "None of your fucking business."

Han wheezed out loud, throwing the empty bottle she had in her hand. "Okay, bitch. Whatever. You missed a lot of the goodies though." Han leaned closer to me and whispered, "Hunter brought some heroin last week. It was sweet!"

I crouched away when she screamed. I wasn't planning to take more of the fucking heroin. It's going to ruin me for good. "I'd laugh when you overdose and die."

"Pussy." She said under her breath and throws me a packet of the drug I asked her for. "Why are you asking for a speed? That doesn't do much you know."

I sighed and stared at the packet. "I just need to feel better for thirty minutes." I was about to bring the pill over my mouth when I hear Hunter making his entrance.

"If I knew you were coming back tonight, I would have brought the scags." He laughed making his way towards me.

"I'm leaving." I stood from the couch but hunter stopped me and gives me a fucking glare.

"Leaving after just arriving? What a party pooper."

"I don't have the energy to deal with people like you." I replied crossing my arms at him.

"What am I to you, Forest? I'm not a murderer. I'm a drug user. No more, no less." He leaned closer to me with a smirk, confidence plastered all over his shit face.

I balled my fist in anger. I should have taken the drug before he came so I wouldn't have to deal with my stupid emotions. "Go to hell."

"I'll see you there." He grinned.

Word travels pretty fast. The room was occupied by just the six of us two minutes ago and now it was full of people who were only in for the drama they need to survive social life.

"Fuck off."

"Come on, Forest. We have history!" He roared out loud.

"I got nothing to do with you."

"Burying the past like it never happened now, are we?" he brought his fingers up to my face, caressing my cheek. I was mad and tired so I spat on his face like he was my cigarette. He laughed it off as he wiped his face. "Are you forgetting that I was there when everything happened?" Fuck you. "You and I both know what went down that night." My jaws tightened as I stared at his fucking face. "You don't want to do this to someone who knows about it, Forest."

I was ready to punch him.

I was ready to strangle him to death until—

"Holy shit!"

"He just passed out!"

What the fuck?

I turned and saw Mark lying on the floor, unconscious. I pushed the people that were crowding him. "Move!" I yelled bending down to lay his head over my lap. "Mark!" I slapped his cheek lightly but he wasn't moving. "Mark!" I shouted again but to no avail.

Fuck. I grunted, wrapping his arms around my shoulder in an attempt to carry him out of the house with me. He wasn't that heavy. He looked underweight to begin with so it wasn't that hard to drag him out of the room while he's unconscious. "Get out of my way!" I screamed when people were on my way.

"Mark!"

I looked up and saw his friend. "Take the other side." I ordered and he obliged. His friend was shaking as we move him to the car he brought.

"W-What happened?!" His friend asked.

"He collapsed when I saw him."

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god." His friend anxiously babbled.

"You drive. I'll stay in the back with him." I said holding Mark by the shoulder to keep him up before fixing his head over my lap. I looked at him and looked away in frustration.

"Where are we going?"

I glared at his friend. "Jesus fucking Christ! Drive to the nearest hospital!" I yelled in fury. I'm so stressed I can't even begin to describe how stupid his friend is for even asking me such stupid question.

A group of medic assisted us as soon as we arrived in the hospital. They had him in a fucking trolley bed while they asked questions.

"What happened?"

"I don't know. He was already unconscious when I saw him." I replied.

"We'll let you know his condition after the checkup. Please stay here in the meantime."

I nodded and sat across the room where they took him. I ran my fingers over my hair nervously. His friend sat one chair away from me.

"I already called Aunt Daina. She'll be here in five minutes."

I gulped. I shouldn't have let him follow me to a party. He was too tired from working on the project. His body must have been overwhelmed by the amount of energy he's giving without gaining it back. Fuck.

The three of us – Haechan, Mark's mom, and I waited patiently for the doctor to tell us what happened. When he stepped out, he asked who he can talk to. Mrs. Lee stood and approached the doctor. They didn't walk away so the conversation was audible to both Haechan and I.

"His blood pressure dropped. It's nothing serious though. No heart problems. It might have been caused by stress or dehydration. We advise to keep him admitted in the hospital for a day or two to check if there are no abnormalities or symptoms that appear."

"Thank you, doctor." Mrs. Lee bowed to the doctor and stepped inside the room where Mark laid. Haechan followed inside after Mark's mom wrapped her arms around her son. I stared at unconscious Mark before I left the hospital.

It's been two days since Mark got hospitalized and I haven't seen him. I didn't want to go to the hospital to visit him. It will only cause me more damage to go there. I didn't want to be kept reminded of Polar.

I was on my way to my next class when these girls gossiping caught my attention.

"Did you hear? Mark was hospitalized!"

"I did! What happened to him?"

"I don't know! I heard he's dropping this semester. I heard from students taking classes with him that he hasn't appeared for his class in a week!"

"What, really?! Why?"

"They say he's with some girl he got pregnant. You know the rumor about his family? His dad lived with the other woman. I guess he got that from his dad. Imagine—"

"Hey." I cut the fake blonde girl off. "Don't you have better things to do? All you do is fuck with everyone behind their backs." I snapped at her.

"I-I was just telling her I hear!"

"Don't tell stories you can't even understand."

"Wh— Why are you even eavesdropping on other people's conversations?!" The girl stood and I glared at her. I can easily snap this fucking girl's neck if I wanted to. "What's wrong about telling people the truth?! Do it yourself if you're so—"

I punched the girl in the face before she even finishes her sentence. I didn't even feel pain over my knuckles – that's how soft this bitch was. "So stop fucking talking."

"You—"

"Cara?"

"Dave!"

Oh shit.

The blonde girl ran to the guy and cries over his arms. "That girl is picking a fight on me and sh-she punched me in the face! It hurts so much! I didn't even do anything to her!" Hearing her whine and cry like a fucking baby just makes me want to rip her head off more.

The guy turned to me, frowning. "Why would you punch my girlfriend?" The guy was bulky. He looked like a weightlifter for looking that big.

"I don't know." I smirked. "It's fun punching ugly faces." I dodged his first punch and threw one good punch at his face – which didn't look like it harmed him at all – before he brought his fist down to my stomach. I crouched down coughing in pain but I grinned to provoke him more. If I couldn't hurt him physically, hurting him with words would satisfy me enough. "It's the ugliest face I've ever seen my entire life."

At that, he threw his fist over my cheek and I collapsed down the ground coughing blood. "If you dare lay another finger on my girlfriend, I'll kill you."

I looked up from the ground laughing. "Daring me only makes me want to do it more."

He kicked me by the stomach and I grunted, more blood coming out of my mouth. I watched them walk away and I slowly got back up to my feet. I wipe the blood off my lips with the back of my hand. "Fucking loser."

On my way to Chemistry class, I was surprised when I saw Mark already inside the room. He smiled and waved at my direction energetically. He looked like he wasn't even hospitalized.

I looked away and sat as far away from him. The last thing I want right now is for him to— "Hi!" He appeared in front of me with his face inches away from mine.

I pushed him away, turning my head the opposite direction from where he was.

"What— you're bleeding." He popped in front of me again so I stared back instead. "What happened to your face? It's all swollen and—"

"It's none of your business."

He frowned before he grabbed my hands and pulled me out of the room. He kept a tight grip on my wrist as we approached the nearest park from the building. He walked to the faucet across the hallway, still holding my wrist, and pulled out his handkerchief. He soaked them with water before he forced me to sit by the bench.

"Who did this?" He patted his handkerchief over to the wounded area. It stung but it didn't hurt as much. "I just got off the hospital and this is what I get for coming back?"

I refused to answer and slapped his hand off my face.

He cluck his tongue in dismay and pulls my face by the chin. He started wiping my face with his wet handkerchief. "You always got into fights but you never got beaten up like this." The guy was literally a boxer. There was no way out of that fight without getting a bruise. "You should go to the infirmary. It looks bad."

"It'll be fine."

He stopped wiping my face and creased his brows. "You're making me want to become a doctor, Forest." I looked at him. "If it's the only way for me to treat you whenever you get hurt, I would." He gives my cheeks one last swipe before he squatted right in front of me. "Ms. Khan said she's treating us tonight."

My brows remained furrowed.

"She'll meet us by the gate after class. Do you want to ride with her or with me?"

"Her."

He pouted. "I already told her you're riding with me so," He shrugged and stood back up resting both his hands over his waist.

I glared at him. "Why are you asking if you already decided?" I stood and bumped with his shoulder as I made my way back to the classroom. I see him follow from behind.

"I don't know. Maybe I wanted you to say that you want to go with me instead."

How ambitious.

"You never visited."

"Am I entitled to do that?" I replied stepping inside the room.

"N-No but—"

"There you have it." I sat back to the chair I left my bag with.

He sat in front of me and just stared. I don't gladly return the favor. I had a lot of realizations. This kid seemed more interested when he started stalking me when normal guys would voluntarily step off. He's a lot persistent than I anticipated.

"If you can't even appreciate him as a person, I can never not see you as Lucifer's daughter."

"What are you thinking about?" He suddenly asked, leaning over my table.

How far are you willing to go, Mark Lee?
