~~Roses POV~~
"W-what are you doing here? This is the girls room in case you haven't noticed the sign outside." I scoff, trying to hide my nervousness.
In return, he only smiles and slowly stalks towards me. Except, I remained rooted to my spot. He was now foot to foot with me, his large muscular frame towering over me, making me feel small and weak. I tried to say something but the words were stuck in my throat. Kyle puts his warm hand on my cheek and gently caresses it. I grit my teeth. This is wrong. I shouldn't be falling for him. I close my eyes tightly and breathe out heavily.
"Look at me, Rose." His deep voice says softly as his other hand holds me by the waist, causing me involuntarily shiver.
"Let me go, Kyle. I have already warned you before."
"Why do you hate me so much?" He says, hurt clearly evident in his voice.
"Because boys like you only want one thing. And that's to play with my heart then when you've had enough, you'll just rip it out and throw it away."
"And what type of boy am I?" He questions, waiting for my answer.
"Are you ready to hear who the two lucky winners are!?" A voice booms and people cheer loudly, grabbing my attention.
"We should get going." I mumble, managing to get out of his grip.
Only before I could make it out the door, the air was knocked out of my lungs as my back came in contact with the door. Kyle's green eyes gaze into my own, his lips merely and inch away.
"Answer me Rose!" Kyle demands, his lips dangerously close to mine. I felt that even if I tried to moisten my lips, I'd be licking his too. His breath fanning my face was driving me crazy at the proximity. He suddenly began to work wonders on my neck, kissing up my neck softly, making me feel all floppy and jelly like. I bite back a moan, hating myself for liking this. "Don't deny this Rose."
Stop it Rose! He's playing with your heart right now! He seducing you to get what he wants!
"S-stop!" I Breathe out and push him back. Glaring at him for even thinking that seducing me was going to break me and give in to his charms.
I turn around, unlock the door and stomp out, trying to find Malcolm. "Hey, you were gone for a while. Everything okay?" Malcolm questions and I nod nervously, biting the corner of my lip.
"The winner for prom king is. . . . ." There was a pause at the end as the principal looks around with a grin, knowing everyone was getting irritated by the wait.
"Kyle Anderson!" And that's when the crowd went wild, Cheering and screaming. And obviously there was this one voice that scram the loudest.
"OH MY GOSH ROSE, LOOK! ITS KYLE HE WON, HE WOOON!" Laura yells in my ear as I glare at her for destroying my ear drums.
"Yes that's great. Good for him." I say sarcastically, though she didn't catch on my sarcasm.
"I have a good feeling that I'll win prom queen!" She says excitedly and I nod, agreeing with her.
As Kyle walks up with a huge smirk, I begin to wonder just how did he get chosen? I have never seen him holding a pencil let alone doing work with that pencil and there he is, up on stage! I thought you had to be an academic student!?
I groan in frustration. Just who does he think he is doing black magic!?
". . . .Andrews!" My thoughts were interrupted when everyone looks at me cheering and clapping. I look around confused until I face Laura.
"YOU WON OH MY GOSH I CANT BELIEVE IT!" Laura exclaims as she hugs me and drags me towards the stage.
"Wait what? Won what?" I say confused as I look around.
And then it hit me. I won the position as prom queen.
NOOOOOOOOOOO!
"Congratulations!" The principal, Mr Andrews says as a teacher puts the crown gently on my head and a sash across my chest. Smiling down at me. "You look beautiful." The teacher whispered and I smile back thanking her.
"Now settle down. Give it up for Kyle and Rose, your new prom king and queen for 2019!" Cheers and clapping was heard once again.
Seriously, I hope they all loose their voices tomorrow morning!
"Now shush! Of course, this decision was a very difficult one, but these two have the highest academic results in the entire school, showing just how hard working they are. This event would of not been successful if it wasn't for Rose's hard work and I have to thank her for that hence why she won..." The principal says and I zone out half way.
Highest academic results? That's bullshit!
I turn to stare at Kyle, confusion written all over my face.
"Smile for the photo Rose. As much as I wouldn't mind you staring at me all day, I want this to be a good photo for the year book." Kyle smirks at me and I turn away scoffing.
"What ever!" I reply back sassily.
"Uhm, stand a little closer, it looks like you're trying to avoid a plague." The photographer says amused.
"Like this?" Kyle says just as he grabs my waist and pulls me right against his side.
"Now smile!"
"Stupid goldfish! Can you believe him, Malcolm!? He acts like we are some couple. Well it may come as some shocking news to him but we are not, and I repeat not a couple!" I complain as Malcolm and I walk back to our dorms.
Gosh these heels are killing me. As much as I love heels, they just never treat my feet properly.
Standing outside Malcolm's dorm, he smiles at me. "Well, your majesty, I think it's time we depart."
I laugh and hit his shoulder. "Gosh what a gentleman you are. You're meant to invite me in you rotten llama."
"Yes I would, because I know just how much you want a slice of this but the teachers are going to do room checks and if they catch you here, then I'm sorry but I ain't acting like no prince."
"That makes no sense. Stop talking like that." I frown staring at him. "Anyways, goodnight Mally." I giggle and just as I was about to turn around, the lock-down bell went off, causing my eyes to open wide. I look around frantically, watching as students rush in to the closest rooms.
Malcolm thinking fast, grabbed my wrist and dragged me into his room. We've done many practice lockdown procedures and we know to get in the nearest room and lock it. We're told to not open it for anyone, not even a teacher.
"What's going on? Is this a real lockdown or a practice?" I ask Malcolm as I begin to panic.
"Shhh, it's okay." He whispers as he pulls me in for a hug, gently stroking my hair. I inhale his cologne, relaxing me immediately. I sigh in content, loving this position.
This is how I always wanted our relationship. To be in his arms whilst he comforted me. But I guess you don't always get what you want.
"Here let's sit down." He says as we take a seat on his bed. "So, prom queen huh? Just how did you do it?" He says with a grin, making me forget about the reality of the situation.
I laugh and shrug. "I honestly don't know! But you know what I'm even more confused about, is why Kyle won. I mean. . . How? Why? When?"
"I know what you mean." Malcolm laughs. "I've never seen him do his homework."
"I was thinking that he is maybe doing black magic." I say as Malcolm goes deep in thought.
"That actually could be po-"
Malcolm's speech was cut when someone was at the door, violently trying to barge in. I let out a scream as I clutch onto Malcolm, shaking with fear.
We're going to die...
