Calibri gave him a pursed-lip smile after speaking and turned to look in the other direction.
"Are we still in the strange cave?"
Haochen watched his expressions for a moment before nodding. "We are. Another part though."
"I see. I did not know you were fond of caves." Calibri said, walking a bit and observing the room.
"I don't mind it. Shard is comfortable here, so I built a living space so I can stay with him if I'm too tired to go back."
Calibri turned upon hearing the familiar name. "Shard? He's here?"
Haochen smiled and let out a light whistle. Calibri's head jerked at the sharp frequency. Haochen glanced at him. "Are you okay?"
Calibri nodded. "Yes. The sound is a bit harsher in this cave." He said. After a moment, Haochen realized what he'd meant. "Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot about your-" He stopped, but his eyes wandered to the other man's ears.
"It's alright. How is he? He responds to whistling these days?"
