Sherry held Ashilde with both her hands.
Her sword was shaking like crazy. Her hands were sweaty.
Despite what had happened to her, she could get herself to kill people.
"Kill them," I repeated.
(She can't kill them. If she does not kill, then she will be the one who will end up dying one day.)
"If you don't kill them, then I will."
Her whole body was shivering.
(Nah! She can't do it)
I tried to take Ashilde from her, but she turned around, pointing the sword at me.
"Run...away" She said in a crumbling voice.
They didn't get what she said and looked up at her. She turned around and shouted at them, "RUN AWAY!" They got on their feet and started running in the opposite direction.
"Are you going to let the criminals get away?"
"I can't kill them. They should be given a chance to change."
"Why? They are the ones who tried to kill you."
"but-"
"Enough, Sherry! You are being a nuisance."
She didn't even move an inch and pointed the sword at me.
"You are going back now," I was furious. There is a limit to one's foolishness.
She knew that I was going to attack, so she tried to take a defensive stance, but she couldn't move Ashilde.
(Obviously, it's my sword. If I don't want her to move, she won't move.)
I attacked the back of her neck. I was too fast for her that she didn't even realize before she fainted. Ashilde turned back to the cat form.
"I am sorry. The you right now is not eligable to follow me," I said to myself.
I used GATE to return Sherry to her home. Her mother asked me what happened, but I didn't answer and teleported back to the jungle.
"Are you sure?" Ash asked me.
"About what."
"Sending Sherry back."
"Yeah. As of now, it's not good to bring her along. I can't deal with foolishness that will lead to our demise."
"Although I don't like your way of handling things, what you said is right."
"Well, we can't be like the kind heroes in stories who wants to save everyone."
"Let's forget about that. We have to deal with those b*stards first."
"Ashilde" Ash turned back to the katana form. We followed the direction to which Rick and Sara had escaped. I had put tracking devices on their clothes before. It was just in case they managed to escape.
After following the signal for a while, it stopped abruptly. I reached the place where it had stopped. There was a huge boulder. I circled the boulder and saw that they were hiding behind it.
They were struck with fear on seeing me.
"Please let us go. I promise we will never do it again. I beg you... please." Sara was crying and begging me. Even Rick, who had acted all high and mighty earlier was like a mouse. He was too scared to even speak.
"I can't help you. Your fate is sealed." Knowing that I was going to strike, Sara tried to run away. I made an ice spear and shot it at her.
It pierced through her heart.
I looked at Rick. There was no sign of resistance. He had submitted to his fate. I sliced through his neck. Even though I had killed for the first time in this world, I didn't feel a thing. It felt nothing new.
(Was I that accustomed to killing in my previous world.)
I returned to the inn. At night I sat by the window looking at the moons. One glowed red while the other blue. One was big while the other small. They were so far yet looked so close.
(Can I and Sherry be like them? We are very different from each other. Can we be as close as the moons right know?)
"I don't know"
