Chapter 136 - The Beginning Of Training

The dev team stood in silence.

"This is a Wall worthy event. . .", someone casually mentioned.

"But can it? This guy is suspected of cheating, can we really endorse that?"

Desk Guy spoke up, "Why not it be temporary? There is nothing preventing us from removing the battle. Regardless of cheating it was quite enjoyable to watch."

The development team looked at each other's reactions before slowing coming to a consensus. Desk Guy shook his head, it was like leading a bunch of children. He began typing on his pc as he continued, "I'll send a message to Scott. Meanwhile you all send the clip to have it analyzed."

Desk Guy was a well respected developer, so no one argued and got to work. Yet while his outer appearance remained calm, inside he was worrying. For Two Tries to reach such a level within only a few months. . . they would have had to cheat. Yet why couldn't they find anything? His favorite team wouldn't stand a chance against Two Tries.

Was it really alright to keep things untouched?

"It's good to hear. You barely won that battle."

Travis gave nervous laughter, "I really let my guard down at the end."

Flinnder smiled, "Dimitrin is quite displeased with that, it looks like your future training will be rough."

Travis felt nervous sweat on his neck, Dimitrin's training was tough enough.

Flinnder continued, "Regardless, you did win. Now that your my Champion, I am here to answer some of your questions."

Flinnder watched Travis, waiting for a question. Travis thought for a moment before hesitantly asking, "A while ago, you said I had something that increased my worth. . . or was it potential? Anyway, what was that thing?"

"That will be answered with your next training session with Dimitrin. So I shall keep quiet."

"What am I becoming your Champion for?"

"Something of great value to me personally. A grand competition hosted by the Dukes. Each royal of their class with compete with a champion. The winner gets promoted one rank above."

"So if I win you'll become a Duke?"

"Exactly, do you understand how much is weighing on your shoulders?"

Travis nodded, "Then, I have only one more question. What now?"

Flinnder clapped a single time, "Fantastic question. The competition will start within six months. It originally was supposed to be three, but it was delayed. . . Nevertheless, it gives us more time to strengthen you. The plan is simple, you shall continue your training with Dimitrin. Occasionally I shall take you on a journey for stronger equipment, that shabby armor is not going to keep you alive. Sadly I do not have any good pieces, else I would have just invested them into you. So in total, we are going to make you far stronger than you currently are. All for my benefit of course!"

Travis heart grew excited, far stronger than he is currently? He will gladly accept!

"Akiol. . . don't move."

Akiol slowly retreated, "Nah, you're crazy if you think I'm staying still."

"Nonsense, I simply want to try something."

Akiol backed further away with his hands raised, "I don't consent. . ."

"Stop being such a crybaby, it's just a small spell."

Akiol looked at the threatening individual, it was Kan'na who was mildly terrifying. With a second of silence that felt like minutes. . . he bolted.

He crashed through a door and leapt into the living room. Wrock, who was relaxing, was startled by a descending Akiol. He quickly asked, "What's wrong?"

Akiol flashed him a look, "Kan'na is doing THAT again."

Wrock got up, "Shall we do a dungeon?"

"I like how you think my good man."

The two immediately left the house for mindless grinding of Exp. Yet, why were they so afraid?

Kan'na never holds back with her spells. Upon creating a warming spell she tested it on Wrock, however she failed to limit the heat and ended up seriously scorching Wrock's back. This was thankfully healed by Yielya.

Akiol personally failed to remember what exactly was tested on him, the only thing he remembers is being electrocuted. Ever since these two incidents they refused to become the test subjects for Kan'na.

Tilia walked out of her room to see what the commotion was about. Upon asking she laughed her heart out, the spells weren't that serious.

Kan'na felt warmed by Tilia's kindness, "Then will you test it out?"

Tilia shrugged, "Sure. What is it exactly?"

Kan'na handed a piece of paper with a magic circle on it, "I am testing something, I shall not state what it does. I want your genuine reaction."

Tilia received the scroll and examined it, "How do I use it exactly?"

"Pour some mana into it, it should activate."

Tilia did so and the magic circle began to glow. She held it for a bit before noticing a change, "It's warm!"

The moment she said that, the magic circle dimmed before fading away. Then the now blank paper disintegrated. Tilia looked at Kan'na questioningly, "That's it?"

Kan'na pulled out a small notepad and wrote a few things down as she answered, "Sadly yes, I wanted to prepare a few of these for something in the future. But I can't seem to get them to work."

Tilia pondered before asking, "How do they work exactly? Oh, please explain it simply."

"I infuse some mana into the ink for it to hold the same properties as me. I then write a magic circle than makes warmth, this works but the spell dims and isn't as effective."

"Then is it the materials? Usually you would need MP for a skill to work right? Perhaps the materials aren't offering enough power for what you want?"

Kan'na stopped writing, "I never thought of that, you genius Tilia! Come with me, you're gonna help me with this."

Tilia was dragged away unwillingly. Meanwhile Yielya heard the commotion through her door, after remembering the site of Wrock's injured back, and Akiol's traumatized self, she decidedly logged off. She wasn't going to deal with this today.

Travis was standing in the training area, nervously watching a disappointed Dimitrin. They crossed their arms, finger tapping. After a moment of stressful silence Dimitrin began to speak, "You have disgraced me, letting your guard down. At such a vital moment!"

Travis kneeled, "I am sorry! It was never my intention-!"

"Enough! I am going to temper you to always have your guard up! Your next months will be a living hell!"

Travis nodded, "I accept my punishment!"

Dimitrin sighed, "Still, it's good of you that you passed. My time has not been wasted. Yet more of my time will be taking up forming this useless lump of scrap iron into a might weapon. So. . . your lessons begin now.

Every time I am not physically training you, you might receive a random attack. You may not receive and attack for weeks, maybe you will receive one every minute. Every attack you fail to deflect will result in the most gruesome training you have every witnessed. Am I clear?"

"Yes!"

"Good, now we will move on. During our training we will be attempting to fully awaken the one thing Lord Flinnder sees worthy in you. If you succeed then you shall enter a realm very few have the opportunity to."

Travis asked, "I wish to know what this is, Lord Flinnder remained silent on the issue, he said that you will explain."

Dimitrin raised an eyebrow, "Oh? He said that did he? Very well then, we shall be awakening a unique power very few have the ability to. This power. . . is called a War Sight."

Travis frowned, a War Sight?! Him? War Sights were the powers of the very top, however this fact was only revealed until later! The way to awaken one was kept hidden, those who were lucky immediately became the part of the top players. In fact it was so different that an unofficial ranking platform created a different ranking for those who didn't have a War Sight.

Travis curiosity got the better of him, "How would I awaken one?"

Dimitrin answered this one slowly, "It depends on the individual. Over a millennium of studying this strange power. . . yet a definite way was never revealed. However a general idea was. First was strong emotions, this would only occur during terrible times. Those who awaken this way never did it on purpose. Next is a battle, a battle that makes you push every fiber of being into action. This would help awaken one. Finally, Talent or Luck. The answer was never certain. However I believe it is both."

Travis gulped, such a serious way! War Sights were one of the strangest powers in A World's Legacy. Along with Blessings and a more mysterious power, a random unique ability given to lucky individuals upon starting.

In his previous timeline he was never able to receive any of these strange strengths. To think he would be able to unlock a War Sight! With such strength. . . what would be able to stop him?!
