Chapter 137 - A War Sight

. . .

Dimitrin unsheathed their sword, "Your War Sight has already been awakened, we just need you to fully understand and control it. So it shall be forcefully used. The only way to do this is to push your body to the brink of destruction."

Travis gripped his sword, "Do you have a War Sight. . . ? Perhaps I could learn if I saw one."

"Ha! You think you could learn by witnessing one? However I shall show you anyway, I haven't used it in so long."

Wong~

Hundreds of glowing weapons appeared behind Dimitrin. There was one of every kind, ranging for barely used to the most common. With a flourish Dimitrin began to explain, "My War Sight is |Myriad Arsenal| I have the ability to create any handheld weapon in existence. To fully utilize this I learned the way of fighting for all these weapons."

Dimitrin recalled the weapons and continued, "A War Sight is only named after it is fully awakened. A name is only given by a seer who is knowledgeable in War Sights. Yours will be unique, and such it will require a unique name. But first, controlling it."

Dimitrin pointed a finger and a strange rune floated above Travis' ring, "I shall temporarily restrict that, such power is not needed for this."

Travis readied his sword, "I am ready!"

"Good! Prepare yourself!"

"Who are you? To enter this realm is not an easy feat." A voice boomed.

A scarlet haired woman answered, "You can call me Opportunity."

". . . Very well, are you aware of what this place is?"

"My mentor said there was a challenge here that I needed to overcome."

"Oh? You're here to challenge the Trial?"

"I believe so."

The voice laughed before continuing, "It has been centuries since someone has attempted the Trial. Very well! If you can defeat my soldiers, you pass."

Opportunity equipped two hand-axes, "Is that all?"

"You make it sound like a trivial task, let us see how you fare!"

Several golden beams of light appeared. As they dimmed soldiers in white armor with golden designs appeared. When the light fully disappeared the soldiers began to charge. As they approached they were soon cutdown by a flurry of strikes. Opportunity remained untouched through the attacks, shattering the armor of the soldiers with her axes.

She dodged a strike and smashed a helmet in a single smooth motion. As she battled the voice was slowly becoming impressed. The challenger was incredibly skilled, the fighting style reminded him of an old friend. He wondered if the challenger was his disciple, for he swore he would only take one.

Perhaps she was worthy enough, however the Trial had yet to end...

Two large beams of light appeared, along with two large armored soldiers. Opportunity noticed them but continued to fight the ordinary soldiers. The large soldiers stomped over and began attacking from afar.

Opportunity dodged the attack and leapt through the air. On the edges of her axes began to glow red. She struck one of the large soldiers. A large cross cut on the chest plate. As she fell she slammed the ground with her axe, causing a large quake. Several nearby soldiers were damaged and fell.

She then continued to battle fiercely, not a single time did she falter.

Clang~

Travis slid back, his breathing heavy. He quickly returned to a stance. Watching Dimitrin's every move.

The training had passed for weeks now, yet Travis had yet to feel an inkling of his War Sight. It didn't help that he was more focused on surviving the battles anyway. Dimitrin was especially violent. If only Dimitrin went a little easier, was a little slower. He would be able to keep up.

Dimitrin sighed, "This isn't working. . . I have no other choice then."

Travis asked nervously, "What. . . ?"

Dimitrin sheathed their sword, "Lord Flinnder commanded me if you were unable to awaken your War Sight. . . I was to eliminate you."

Travis was on edge immediately, "What?!"

A glowing sword formed in Dimitrin's hand. It was one of the weapons from |Myriad Arsenal|. They dashed forward swinging for Travis' neck. Travis hastily moved his head back to dodge. He immediately triggered his Berserk Skill, after all he went through. . . he would be finished off because of a small factor?!

Dimitrin continued to swing, their speed greater than Arrovon when he activated his Berserk skill. Cuts began forming along Travis' body. His HP began to plummet.

Travis was kicked in the stomach, the force caused him to fly back into the wall. He coughed blood from the impact, "I won through fair means, yet I will be killed because of this?!"

Dimitrin coldly replied, "Fair? There is no fair in the Abyss. Lord Flinnder has found another Champion, one who has awakened a War Sight."

Dimitrin rushed over before Travis could free himself from the rubble. Their sword easily penetrated his stomach and the wall. Pain flashed and Travis grit his teeth, "Then I'll kill them too! I'll kill anyone who stands in my way!"

A pressure was released from Travis. He gripped the sword and began pushing it away, "Another obstacle will not stop me. I have gotten this far, I'll smash through it!"

Dimitrin replied coldly, "When the obstacle in a mountain, it matters not how much you try."

The pressure skyrocketed, "I'll shatter the mountain too! I'll shatter a whole planet if I need to!"

"Foolish, you know not of your own limits."

"Limits are merely another obstacle. Another thing that stands in my way."

Whooosh-!

The pressure expanded. Travis pushed the sword out of his stomach, "Limits are something that must be eliminated. Merely another obstacle in my path."

Dimitrin smiled, "One that you have just shattered."

Travis' emotions flickered, "What?"

Dimitrin's sword dissipated, "Ignore that, focus on yourself. Feel the energy as it circulates within you. Remember this feeling!"

Travis, who was confused, focused on his own body. It was then he noticed, a strange power seemed to be radiating off him. As he focused on the feeling it was like he was freed from a pair of shackles. His body knew exactly what this was. With just a thought he retracted the power. He looked up at Dimitrin, "This is. . ."

Dimitrin nodded, "Your War Sight. It has shown itself."

Travis then asked, "Then all that happened. . ."

Dimitrin gave a small laugh, "Lies, all of it."

"Why?"

"Your familiarity of me was holding you back. I was unable to truly push you because of a subconscious knowing that you wouldn't die. So I had to get rid of that, reignite your instincts to survive. After all this is the same way you first awoke."

Travis nervously laughed before collapsing onto his knees, "You. . . truly scared me."

Dimitrin held out a hand, "I'm sorry, now get up. Let's see if you know what you're capable of. Oh, and take this."

Travis was helped up and given a strange potion. He drank the potion and all his wounds began to fade. He was surprised by the effects of the potion, his HP nearly fully recovered!

Dimitrin commanded, "Now, unleash that power. Feel the force as you did before."

Travis concentrated and within a second a powerful pressure was unleashed. Suddenly a crash was heard. The sound surprised Travis, making the power retract again.

When he looked over where the crash was heard, a servant had collapsed. A fragile tea set was shattered on the ground. Dimitrin made a face, "That was my favorite teapot."

Travis mumbled, "Sorry."

Dimitrin shook their head, "Nonsense, try not to release so much. Tone it down a bit."

Travis attempted to release the pressure slowly, but it once again released all at once. He panicked a bit before once again trying to reduce the power. Slowly it began to retract, until Travis held it about half of the original output.

Dimitrin summoned a staff and pushed Travis with it. Making him stumble back and lose control. The power immediately retracted and Travis was left dumbfounded.

Dimitrin nodded, "The next training is now clear. We will be working for you to full control your War Sight. In fact your punishment shall help. You will be holding your War Sight to the smallest possible output. You will continue training this way, you shall go about your business this way. This will exercise your control until you are able to use it at will."

Travis bowed, "Yes!"

Dimitrin nodded in satisfaction, "Now come, we will visit a Seer for your War Sight's name. This will give you ownership of it and should reduce the time it takes for you to control it. I shall ask Lord Flinnder to teleport us there. Remain here."

Dimitrin moved quickly, in fact they were walking normally. However the speed would be able to beat an ordinary player's full sprint.

As Dimitrin walked away Travis was overcome with excitement. He has unlocked a War Sight! He! Travis was incredibly excited, a War Sight wasn't something he could obtain with his knowledge. With this, he stepped into a new realm!
