Akiol stood in front of a door anxiously. The two days he had of preparation weren't enough. He could only blame himself however, he spent too much time on 'A World's Legacy'. Bracing himself he knocked on the door.
It opened and there stood a woman, it was James' mother. She smiled faintly and greeted, "Welcome, it's been a while."
Akiol nodded, Jessica beckoned him in. As Akiol walked into the house he examined the place. It was much like James' memories. There wasn't much different. Jessica led him to the table. There was a meal laid out for him. His father sat at the head of the table. Akiol sat down and waited, he wasn't sure how to start the conversation.
He thought it was a bit ironic. He, who was originally a hero who chatted with many kings and queens. Was left silent in front of his new biological parents. Akiol couldn't really consider them his true parents, considering they were dead, he didn't consider them strangers though.
His dad, Charles, cleared his throat and asked, "How's it been?"
Akiol knew this slight awkwardness was going to happen, he was prepared for this much. So he responded, "Pretty good actually."
Not the greatest response, he saw a tinge of disappointment in their eyes. He was sure he could fix that with what he was going to say next.
Jessica asked, "And work?"
"Well I wanted to talk to you about that." This was it, his chance to reconcile with James' parents. He continued, "In short you were right. The job wasn't my greatest opportunity, and I am currently jobless."
Jessica and Charles raised their eyebrows, clearly surprised.
Akiol continued, "The job wasn't as good as it seemed, I was treated poorly and wasn't the best mentally."
Jessica inquired, "Are you okay?"
Akiol raised his hand gently, asking her to stop.
"After a year of working I managed to file a lawsuit. I have enough money to live for a while. I left the job and I am currently doing just fine."
Charles asked, "So what are you doing now?"
Akiol took a deep breath, "To be honest, nothing."
There was a bit of silence. Akiol saw their slightly troubled faces. He honestly had no idea where to take the conversation now.
Jessica broke the silence, "Are you going to continue school then?"
"Not just yet, I may in the future. Right now I am relaxing and deciding on what I want to do." Akiol replied. It was a half lie, he wasn't really deciding on what to do. He wasn't even sure if he would go to school either.
Jessica and Charles looked at each other. Seemingly having a silent conversation. Charles then said, "To be honest we weren't very supportive. Ever since you left we were thinking. . . we haven't been the best parents."
Jessica continued, "We weren't supportive of your choice, instead we adamantly refused. Intending for you to focus on your schooling. We have decided that whatever you choice may be, we would do our best in supporting it."
Akiol smiled, it worked out better than he hoped. The three decided to eat, the awkward atmosphere slowly turning into a homely one.
As they were chatting a knock on the door sounded. Jessica excused herself and answered the door. A loud voice sounded, "Here I am!"
Akiol's body subconsciously tightened up. He recognized that voice, it was James' older sister. An energetic individual who didn't believe in private space.
James had two siblings, besides his older sister he had a younger brother. He hadn't seen either of them in a while. However James slightly feared what his older sister may do. Call it sibling love sure, one thing he did know was that he didn't like her 'pranks'.
He heard his mother say, "We weren't expecting you. . . come in!"
Akiol quickly went through the memories of his sister. Just because they were integrated with his own didn't mean he knew everything by heart. Since James' body had a subconscious reaction to her voice, it could mean she wasn't the friendliest.
To his amusement it wasn't anything traumatizing. Rather a bit of rough play, though she could be a bit mean.
James' sister walked into the dining room. She was a brown haired, amber eyed woman. Seeing Akiol she exclaimed, "Jamesy! It's been so long!"
Apparently James always disliked the nickname Jamesy. It didn't sound very nice.
Akiol smiled, "It's nice to see you to Rebecca."
She pretended to be shocked, "Jamesy said it was nice to see me?!"
Jessica then entered the dining room. She lead Rebecca to sit down. She then said, "It's a good thing I made extras. Let me get you a plate."
Rebecca attempted to decline, stating she could do it herself. But after a bit of convincing she gave in.
After being served some food they all sat together and ate merrily. Talking about life and joking.
Afterwards they cleaned up and Akiol claimed it was time for him to leave. It wasn't that he didn't want to stay with them. Rather he felt that his goal was accomplished, there was no further reason to stay.
As he was saying goodbye Rebecca shot a small piece of paper towards him. Akiol easily caught it with his fingers, to the surprise of Rebecca. As he left he read what was on the paper.
-It's good you made up with them. They look happier now-
He folded it and stuck it in his pocket. He agreed, with relationships mended he could focus on the less important things. That was getting to level 100 of course.
When he arrived home the first thing Akiol did was head to bed. He wanted to be well rested before he began to play.
. . .
It was 8:00 am in the morning. A man had woken up to a notification. His second-in-command had sent him a link. He opened the link and it brought up a post by the official game account of 'A World's Legacy'. He pressed play on the video.
"Welcome everyone to A World's Legacy's first highlight! To celebrate a month of the game's huge success we put together a short clip of our favorite moments! This will happen at the end of every month. Even you can be featured! Without further ado let's roll the video!" A cheery female voice sounded.
With fantastic scenery shots and small PVE moments the video was coming along nicely. However one particular clip made the man's mood turn sour. It was none other than him! It was the fight he had with the white haired kid's party!
He slammed his nightstand. He paused the video and checked the comments.
-DisabledArrow: Hey that guy with the white hair seemed familiar.
-JerryCan: @DisabledArrow Yeah, it's that one guy with the 500 gold bounty right?
-CosmicCrash: @JerryCan who was the guy he was facing then?
-Divided: @CosmicCrash pretty sure that's the leader of Pierced Moon.
-PeacefulTurtle: @Divided Pierced Moon? I am pretty sure they were the ones who put out the bounty to begin with.
-GrantedWish: @All the silver haired guy was the one with a 500 gold bounty. The dark pugilist was the 250 gold bounty. I don't know who that summoner was. One thing I do know is Pierced Moon was an overly arrogant guild. It serves them right to fall to justice. What I want to know is who the silver haired guy is.
The man, who was none other than the guild leader of Pierced Moon, furiously was about to reply when a great idea came to mind. His mood improving with this newly arrived idea he began to type furiously, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
