Letti appeared back at the center of Randell behind an inconspicuous alley.
What she said to Mila was true. She have no basic foundation on magic, but she make it up with a few original tricks in her sleeves.
One of that is teleporting using the void.
The single spider she stationed in the city was waiting in this corner until they switch places.
"I still can't get use to this kind of transportation." That second of nothingness before she was hauled back aboveground was extremely uncomfortable.
She felt the surging mana eased up after retracting all her shadows back.
She badly need food and sleep right now.
That's the con of staying in a warped dimension for two days.
Letti stepped out in the bright street and easily blend in the crowd, going back to the guild building. She plan to take her pay immediately to afford a room and food tonight and leave this place early in the morning.
She haven't yet decided where to go, but she's certain on not dallying her departure from this place.
The guild in the capital of Ruvia won't stay still once they caught wind of the A-class dungeon. Not only Ruvia, but nearby guilds and companies will suck up on Randell to get the best deals.
Every monsters' body is profitable in the weapon business. The quality of the ores found in that dungeon is also worth a lot and many buyers would die to get their hands on it.
It's safe to say that the power dynamics in this region will change from now on. Randell's Guild will experience a new heights.
That's why she can't stay here and just wait for trouble to find her.
She wordlessly slip past the crowd until she arrived at the guild building.
Like she predicted, a lot of people were already gathering at the lobby. The news about a guild clearing an A-class dungeon is bound to become a national news.
She ignored the buzz and went straight to the finance office.
The healer from eariler, who warned them about Eunice, was also inside.
Other adventurers were already eagerly waiting in line. Letti saw they were mostly lower ranked members.
Unfortunately, the guild industry is not different to any other employments. The higher your rank is the more chance you have to join more raids. These people probably saw this as a rare golden ticket.
Letti prefer the company of a familiar face so she walked toward her. "Excuse me, I'm here to collect the pay."
"Oh you're here," her startled eyes look at her face before pushing with her glasses as a habit. "Guild Master already sent us a message in advance. We were told you are a special case. I can take you to the department head."
Letti only nodded and was about to follow behind the person when a voice suddenly interrupted.
"Hold on! Isn't this unfair to the people waiting in line?" Everybody's attention went to the owner of the shrilly voice. Even the bustling clerks cease their actions, expecting a confrontation.
The healer only gazed back unimpressed and stated firmly. "Miss Louve, please don't disturb our work environment with your unwanted retort. If you continue to cause disruption to the work flow, I will ask you to leave."
Eunice's face suddenly looked pitiful with unshed tears. Her charming beauty only added to the appeal in the eyes!
"Did I do something wrong? I just feel like it's unfair for lower ranked members to wait for they pay. The most I can do is bring them justice."
The healer's face turned gloomier at the underlying meaning. This lady's shamelessness is seriously amazing.
And the thing that is most aggravating is that Eunice genuinely thought she was doing the deity's work with her disparaging words.
Unfortunately, only a handful was able to notice the insult behind the benevolent act as others were quick to get swayed by her words.
"That's right. I get that the outsider was able to prove his worth earlier, but this is a blatant insult to us as official members of this guild!" An adventurer piped up.
They couldn't outright speak about what happened in the dungeon because of the Guild Master's order. But majority of their knowledge of the raid were already convoluted. The prime witnesses were even more tight-lipped about it.
At first, they didn't mind the obvious preferential treatment. But Eunice's words had persuaded them.
Who knows if the rumors are even true? Maybe the outsider just struck gold by leeching of the party's effort. They could have killed the Nymphis by themselves without the outsider's help.
Ah, as expected, outsiders are a bunch of cunning bastards!
The healer sneered, mentally ridiculing the guy. What blatant insult? Your own member just looked down on you all seconds ago!
"Outsider, do you have anything to say to yourself? Living in deceit will not lead you to an honorable life!" People sucked in a quick breath at Eunice's words. She's directly accusing Letti of fraud. What bravery! As expected of the Guild Master's relative.
Eunice stared heatedly at Letti's face. She refuse to accept the humiliation she suffered earlier, even more so accept Letti's incredible feat. If not for this outsider stealing her limelight, she could be the person the Elder Mage selected! Truly vexing!
"I have no obligation to respond." Letti answered serenely without a ripple of panic to her face.
The healer only sighed tiredly. Facing this ordeal is out of her job description, she wasn't even supposed to be here!
What kind of guild lacks managerial staffs?
"You," Eunice's eyes seem to set ablaze in fury. It's surprising how she could contain herself this long from using her magic. "How utterly shameless! You outsiders are really the lowest of all low! You are the stain to all dignified adventurers who worked honestly! Admit your wrongdoing!"
"How could I admit to something I didn't do?" Letti's voice was resolute, but she didn't stop there. A person can only take enough scorn before they fight back.
"And where is your evidence? A sensible person would procure evidences prior to accusing someone of such a heinous crime. I could sue you for slander!"
"Shut up!" Eunice suddenly conjure her golden scepter and with a quick flick of her wrist sent a spell called [Red Ice].
It was an elementary spell but the intensity of the spell was terrifying! Eunice Louve is certainly a powerful mage above her peers.
Letti watch blankly as a formless figure leaped out of her shadow to take in the damage, at the same time, a Level 6 reinforced barrier enclosed the vicinity containing the shockwave.
The spectators couldn't stop trembling in fear even after the mana dispersed.
At this closed space, if not for the reinforcement everybody would have died to smithereen!
Why include them to your grievance!
The healer's hands emitted a faint yellow glow. Of course, everybody knew she was a Class-A mage-type healer with a respectable position in the whole guild. She can easily create an unbreakable barrier to counter magic like earlier without a sweat!
She clenched her fist, disassembling the barrier immediately. Now her face couldn't even be painted because of the fury swallow the entire room.
Not a lot of people would dare to offend her, but Eunice Louve clearly want to overstep her boundaries!
"Eunice Louve, you have violated Article XI - Section 2, under the Magnanimity Code stipulated in both the Guild Council and Randell Guild's jurisdiction. Each states that under the absolute protection of the co-signed continents included in the Genova Treaty, the Guilds, once recognized by the kingdom and empires, will be a neutral region and in no circumstances shall fights be allowed between members." The healer's words were swift and firm, hinting no room for discussions.
"Buer, stand down." Letti whispered as the mini-sized golem slink back to her shadow.
Eunice just realized the magnitude of her actions and her face loss all of their color. "I didn't mean to!" She let go of the expensive scepter as if it was on fire.
No one bother to cause a ruse anymore. What can they do? They were all witness. Attacking someone unarmed is a taboo for all adventurers. Whatever Letti could have done would be counted as self defence.
The only logical thing would have been to apologize and step out, but Eunice was incapable of salvaging a little pride for herself.
"The outsider provoked me! I wouldn't have attacked if he didn't threaten me!"
"Miss Louve, that's enough. You have already cause a lot of damage in the guild in a matter of minutes." The healer coldly cut off her tirade.
"Why are you against me?" Eunice was full of grievance she could go mad. Why are they siding with an outsider instead of her?!
"Miss Louve, have I stabbed you?"
"No."
"Then, I have been nice to you." There was an obvious threat to her tone.
The mood was suddenly disrupted once the door opened. "Eunice, Guild Master is calling—eh?!" An ordinary member entered the room and froze at the unusual heavy silence.
Eunice finally took this as an opportunity to escape with her tail tuck between her legs.
"What are you call gawking for? We got work to do!" The healer sent them a withering look and the room gradually return to normal.
"Please follow me..."
"Letti, just Letti."
The healer cracked an amused smile. The earlier seething look was gone as if it never happened. "Then I will be casual and just call you Letti."
Letti nodded in agreement.
"You may call me Agatha."
"That's a unique name."
"Is it?" Agatha hummed in thought. "By the way, did you see how they defeated the Boss?"
Letti shook her head. "No. I was on the other party so I got there late."
"That's too bad. I heard the entire party joined forces to defeat the Boss, then the Elder Mage appeared and finished the Boss off."
Letti decided to nod along with her narrative to avoid suspicion.
The girl took it as a sign of affirmation so she covered her mouth in unconcealed awe. "So it is true! I keep hearing different stories from other people. It's weird."
The fact that this person is treating her normally proves that nobody aside from the adventurers in that dungeon knew more or less the real story.
Letti was more at ease moving around now.
"That's the thing about word by mouth I guess." She replied casually.
Agatha nodded and at the same stopped infront of a door.
"Here we are. Knock on the door in the beat of Richard Ficherson, then wait for the old man to let you come in. Ah, I still have things to do. Do you mind if I leave you here?"
"It's okay. You already helped me a lot."
Agatha knew what she was implying so she smiled in reassurance. "Don't worry. Eunice can't bother you now. The Guild Master strictly values the Magnanimity Code, he'll be force to impose a punishment to set an example."
Agatha quickly bid her farewell after a few more exchanges of words and soon left the area.
She faced the dark oak door apprehensively and was about to knock on the door when a voice sounded from inside the room.
"Don't just stand there. Come in."
