Chapter 32 - Arrival of the lion King and queens (little...explicit)

Nea asked, her main heart stuttered, and she swayed.

Short of breath, Nea took what was offered and simply tore out the alpha's throat, crushed his hearts, then moving back with a cold look on her face, watching the once-dominant alpha as he laid below her dying.

"N-n-nea.." he whispered hoarsely, Nea thought to herself all that this wolf had done... Was being reaped with his dying breath.

Still, somehow, as if fate found her a bit laughable, Nea found herself lifting a shaking paw to approach the dying alpha, his beautiful fur stained with blood, her legs giving out just as she reached directly in front of him.

Her hearts stuttered once more, her head slowly fell, gaze unable to leave his form as it rested between her forepaws. Perhaps he truly was somehow hers, alas in their next life… PePerhaps.. She will take him as her mate.

The once beautiful eyes turning dull, closing slowly as death, which hovered above her for so long, embraced her, drawing her last breath along with the alpha.

While he was engulfed in flames turning to Ash to be carried away by the wind.

Nea turned to stone, crumbled and was absorbed into the world.

The wolves who saw this happen were stunned for a moment before grief overtook them.

Together they raised their heads back and echoed a howl filled song expressing their grief.

Above Nea looked below, feeling her last link to this realm fall away, freed she allowed her spirit to be carried away.

"To my dear daughter, may your life be fruitful for those who seek to harm you do not be as foolish as those from our past lineage…"

Wolf territory (mix POV)

Ten suns had passed.

The priestess had gone mad and slaughtered a few of the beta wolves along with the great alpha.

Those who remained wept, releasing mourn filled howls.

It was all because of that mongrel unable to shift!

The decision had been made by the elders together and approved by the great alpha for her to be cast out.

They thought to strap her high up, to be pecked to death by the bird of prey, but the alpha had denied it.

It probably would have been best, the way that female had attacked the pack and died.

"Elders, we suffer. With the death of the priestess, our balance..." the she-Wolf sobbed, holding her pup close, tail tucked in a way to encircle the weak-looking thing to her side. It was a clear sight that it had only a few breaths left.

How many pups had died so far? Thirty? Forty?

So many she-wolves had cried to him and the elders.

They were aware of how many wolves had died beside the pups?

A quarter of the pack!

How?

He did not know their life was just gone, drained slowly, finding it harder to breathe.

The shadow that had blanketed their territory became darker by the day.

"Elders, elders... It's them... The lions... They have come... The King and his queens-"

A sentry entered, panting, his ears drooping.

The first elder rose quickly, ignoring the red-furred wolf taking the first step forward in concern.

As the oldest wolf of over two thousand years living through the last great war against the lupines and felines kind, of course, he himself was highly aware that the war had been instigated by the wolves in order to rid themselves of the powerful wolf Queen.

They had thought it immoral for a female wolf to have several mates just like that deceased priestess. (that was just you... Others had another opinion though negative as well)

'how many are with the king and his queens?'

Leaving the black menkok's luminous cave, the elders flanked the first who had stepped in for the fallen alpha.

A green furred wolf streaked with violet streaks. His eyes were a forest green, flashing every now and again with the lightening power coursing through his entire being.

"They have blanketed the entire Eastern side of the horizon, first elder,"

Another replied when the previous struggled still to catch his breath,

"I will greet the King and his queens. second elder has the women and children leave with a fifth and sixth elder for safety,"

The first elder said continuing to the exit he inwardly gritted his teeth he should have just had that female secured safer than perhaps what is occurring today would not have happened.

Using his lightning power he flashed through the forest avoiding prey animals directly to the forest edge there he waited for the rapidly approaching King and his entourage who would arrive in a few hurs (hours).

"Elder, will we go to war?"

"It is highly doubtful, but the relationship between the lions and wolves is even more strained than any of the other species."

This said by the third elder; a grey wolf whose inner power was Empath it was an extremely powerful skill that half of the pack depended on to keep them stable.

The priestess had such power, but after the death of her mates; she had focused only on that mongrel withdrawing from the pack, leaving the burden on the third elder and a few weaker pack members.
