We will never forget the night that they came... That night we were out celebrating the new year with our heads held high and our loved ones at our side. Little did we know that there was something lurking in the shadows. People were running around with sparklers and declaring their New Years resolution. Soon enough we began the count down to ring in the new year. But as soon as midnight struck, it came. Dark black shadows of fog began to arise from every corner and alley way. Everton that breathed it in or that the smoke went through were never seen again. Some would walk towards it without knowledge of what it was. Like the rest of us but as the tale goes "curiosity killed the cat". Us survivors had little to no clue of what happened to them, what the shadows were, how they came to, or how many people were left. At the time, I was with my boyfriend, Little John ( only based off of the fact that his Dad is also named John), my best friend Miley, and my little step brother (only four months apart) Brant. My boyfriend and I had never kissed before nor held hands. But all of our friends kept telling us to. We both thought that New Years might be the night. While Brant and Miley were just hanging out with us, they never showed any signs of liking each other. Though they often made fun of each other. We were each holding a sparkler in hand and were unison with everyone else counting down to midnight. When Little John and I locked eyes we began to hear people scream.
