Chapter 1 - Yui the snake

[Reincarnation (can be called transmigration or metempsychosis) is a process of survival after death by which a soul, vital substance, individual consciousness, energy or spirit would come to life in different bodies (humans, animals or plants) after a new birth.]

As always, Yui was hunting some animals to strengthen herself. She prefers going alone so that no one snatched her preys. Of course, she doesn't like sharing them. She disliked being surrounded by those noisy snakes. Since the time she hatched, Yui stayed away from the big snake nest.

As you thought, Yui is a black snake princess with purple eyes. She has good defense. Her scales are the strongest and her attacks could kill any prey easily. The queen snake has 20 princes and princesses. The queen is the biggest and strongest of them all. She decided that only the strongest could be near her and others would just be tools of war. She wouldn't think twice before getting rid of them.

Yui got her title by accident some months ago on a day like this when hunger woke her up. She was looking through the forest for something big to satisfy her appetite.

Soon enough she saw a big fat one horned rabbit. Without losing time, the snake sneakily approached it without making a sound. When the horned rabbit realized of her presence, Yui had already wrapped her body around it.

The fat rabbit began struggling but Yui was a lot stronger than it. She found it funny to see the rabbit suffering so she crushed him gently. You could hear it squeaking while its bones were breaking. Blood flowed down the rabbit's body and onto Yui's. And with a sharp inhale, the rabbit drew its last breath.

When she tried to swallow it, she opened her jaw to the widest it could go. When the black snake almost swallowed the rabbit's head, she received a rock on her head and near her eye. She was shaking her head from the impact. It didn't hurt her that much, but it was close enough to her eye for the dust to get into it.

Yui was a little surprised. Those who think that her eyes are her weak spots are wrong. Her eyes have an even stronger resistance than her scales. When Yui felt the impact, she stopped trying to swallow the rabbit and looked in the direction where the attack came from.

"ssss... That rabbit issssss... mine. Ssss...I ssssaw it firsssst...!" Another snake spoke as it came out from the bushes. Yui looked at him with a pissed off expression on her face. 'Who was this idiot and where did he come from?'

Most snakes couldn't speak, but very few could, like this snake. Even though Yui could talk she disliked it. It was a waste of energy. She wished that instead of talking, the others could just read her thoughts. The hunger just made her angrier at that suspicious looking snake.

"Ha! Sssss, come and get it! Sssss..." Without warning, the mysterious snake lunged towards Yui with an incredible speed.

'Tch, a prince.' Yui thought that she only has one weakness, at least, she thought it was her one and only weakness. She moved too slowly but was never motivated to become faster. Weren't snakes supposed to be fast... She was an abnormality.

Yui slowly let go of the dead rabbit but before she could reach the ground the other snake was already in front of her. He slapped her with his tail, sending her flying away and she crashed on a nearby tree making a little hole in it.

"Ssss just that? It'sssss not even... good for a warm up." Her anger was already quelled and if she was human, you could've seen a big grin spreading across her face. It was big enough to send shivers down your spine. It wasn't the grin that sent shivers down your spine, but her piercing glare. The look in her eyes was that of a person who planned for that to happen.

The snake took her expression as a provocation, he had lost his reasoning. He couldn't believe that some nobody snake could be stronger than him, the one chosen by the snake queen. Plus, her eyes were making him insane. Was she really a snake or some kind an imitation? He rushed to Yui's side and used all his strength to squeeze and bite Yui but she didn't move nor said something.

"Just... Ssss... disappear... You snake! Sss." Yui looked at him blankly. 'When will he be tired? And isn't he also a snake?'

After some minutes that seemed like forever, the annoying snake was tired of attacking. Yui could have slept but she waited for this moment. She easily broke free and bit him. The other snake became poisoned. She tried to use as little strength as possible but who knew he was so frail. Its bones broke. She let go of the snake and saw purple blood flowing from the bite. If the poison was taken apart it wouldn't have any color, taste or smell but once it met a living being it would show a purplish color. When the being would have no chance of taking the poison out, it would spread a horrible smell of dead corpses. It showed that the being was on the verge of death and couldn't be saved.

The black snake looked at the green one and wondered what she should do with it. Seeing that he was a prince but truly weak, she decided to leave him suffering there and maybe infect another animal that dared to eat him. Only she wouldn't be harmed by her own poison.

Yui slowly moved back to the fat rabbit. It took some time to swallow everything and she decided to find a safe place to sleep and digest the meat. That day she became a snake princess.

Back to the present day. For some reason Yui couldn't find any good prey. Even if she approached the small ones they started running away. With her slow body, she couldn't follow them a lot so she gave up eating for today and got to hide herself for a good day of sleep. She hid beneath some big tree roots. No one would see her when night would fall but she didn't know that in some hours her and the others snake's life would be in danger.
