"Okay we're ready to begin now." said a bulky police officer. "Arthur? Would you like to explain how this all happened?"
"Are we...?" Arthur began. "Are we...?" Arthur paused, his hands visibly shaking with fear.
"Yes Arthur, you're safe." the officer responded. "Now can you please explain to us what you saw and how you feel?" the officer sat down on the opposite side of the desk. "Would you please explain what happened so we can try to understand and unravel the events that happened?"
"Okay." Arthur said without looking up. "I...I was home waiting for my wife Maria to come back from her job. It was our tenth year anniversary so I planned everything out perfectly." Arthur managed to say. He began choking on his words.
"It's okay Arthur please continue."
After a deep breathe Arthur continued. "She comes home at five and it was starting to get dark out, her job is only a twenty minute drive away, I mean th-thirty minute drive, I'm sorry. It... it was about to be nine and I called her to see where she was." Tears were starting to fall from Arthur's eyes, his hands began to shake once more. "Her phone rang but she didn't pick up her phone, I called her for what seemed to be six times until I finally got a response." Arthur stopped. He looked up and his eyes appeared dead. They blinked and moved but it looked as if Arthur had just seen a ghost. They were white, as white as snow and he began to pant like he was out of breath.
"Arthur, relax. There's no one here but us." the officer said. "Please continue."
"She was screaming. She was panicking. It sounded like she was screaming at someone but she never responded to me. I knew she wasn't the one that answered the phone, I knew she wasn't alone."
"Is this the part in where you left the house looking for her?"
"yeah." Arthur said blankly. Arthur didn't say anything else. Silence surrounded the room. The only sound that could be heard were the consisting loud buzzing of the old fluorescent lights above the two and the sound of water passing through the old pipes below the concrete floor.
"Arthur please continue."
"I knew that whatever was happening it... it had to be at the local park."
"Riverside?"
"Yes. That place had been closed for over a decade and her and I used to sneak in when we were younger but it didn't make sense of her to... to go alone."
"Okay. so what happened next?"
"I was calling Maria's name and now it was extremely dark out. I was running through the park hoping that I would find anything. I didn't feel right I... I felt sick. I can't explain the... feeling, I wanted to vomit. I continued to walk through the park, desperately trying to find Maria. Then..." Arthur paused. He froze. His hands stopped shaking but his eyes were still producing tears.
"Arthur?"
"That... that... MAN! THAT THING!" Arthur began to cry. Tears were now streaming down, his face was red. "He..." his cries got louder. "Maria's necklace... he... he had... he had it." Arthur slammed his hand on the desk, crying more. Arthur tried to say more but he couldn't mange to do it. He was choking on his words, sniffing uncontrollably.
"Arthur. It's okay, can you please describe what he looked like?"
"He was tall. He... he... it looked like he was wearing a white medical coat. It didn't look human, it was lanky, his... his hair was pitch black it was... it was almost to the ground. I never seen someone like that. His head was tilted to his right shoulder. It... his face was pale, no eyebrows." Arthur broke down. He put his hands on his face and began to sob.
"Arthur please continue."
"His smile. His HORRIBLE DAMN SMILE! HE JUST KEPT SMILING, SMILING! I never saw a smile that big! His eyes were wide, his eyes, cold, dead, red eyes! What was that?! What did I see?!"
"Arthur calm do-"
"NO! No! That thing killed my wife! It's Voice! I can still hear it around ME! DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! IT WON'T LET ME LIVE! HIS EYES! THAT DAMN SMILE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I SAW! YOU DON'T KNOW! YOU DON'T KNOW!" Arthur's pupils dilated and he began to scream at the officer. "ITS BACK! ITS RIGHT THERE!"
"Arthur calm down you're safe!" the officer yelled back.
"NO! NO! I'M NOT!" Arthur yelled out pointing at something.
"Arthur calm do-" the officer turned around and saw the thing. The exact same man Arthur saw on the night he lost his wife. The officer yelled and frantically pulled out his gun and began shooting at the man while Arthur's screams was going on in the back. The officer shot at that man five times then the gunshots and Arthur's screams stopped abruptly. All that could be heard were the sounds of footsteps.
Both Arthur and the officer were never found.
