"911, what's your emergency?" an officer said. It was almost four in the morning. The night was stiff. No one was out. No cars, no people, nothing. "Hello?"
"Yes... hi... hello?" said a woman, her voice was shaking, her fear could be heard. "Um... please send help. There is something outside." the woman began to cry. "We don't know what this is... I... please send help. Please." she whimpered.
"Ma'am I need you to calm down. What's your name?" the officer said confusedly.
"Please send help. My name is Rose. I'm with my little brother. His name his Max." the woman managed to say. "It's standing outside the window." Rose said looking at her little brother. He was also frightened.
"What's standing outside ma'am?" the officer asked.
Rose stared outside her window. There it stood. It's pure white face and crimson smile. It stood still, almost like a mannequin. "I don't know what it is... I don't know. Please send help."
"Where are you now?"
"We're in my room. The thing is scaring us." Rose's cries began to quiet down. She didn't want to scare her little brother. She had to be brave. Her brother was totally oblivious of what was going on. She tried to hold back her tears but to no luck.
"Where is the guy now?"
"He's at the back of the house. He's near the swing set." she whimpered.
"What is he doing?"
"He's standing next to the swing set. He's doing nothing." she cried. She ducked down hiding under the window.
"Ma'am I need you to stay calm." The officer said in a calm voice. "What your address?"
"142 Lake view Street."
"Young lady, we are sending back up immediately. Stay put and relax."
"Okay... thank you."
She looked back up. The man got extremely close. The thing was only three inches away from the window. Rose made eye contact with the being, her heart skipped a beat as soon as she saw the thing's smile. Phlegm spewed out of it's teeth. It's hair was moist and greasy, and had maggots crawling in it. She could smell the being, the stench of smegma and salmon made her stomach turn. She let out a scream.
"Ma'am? Ma'am!" the officer got no response. What he heard were Rose's footsteps running away and her brother crying over the phone. A door slam shut. "Rose!"
"Please send help." Rose begged. "I'm in the bathroom with Max." she cried. "Please send help...please. It had no eyebrows no eyelids no nose. I... please... I'm scared."
"Calm down ma'am. Did he have a mask?"
"No...no no no. It had no mask. His smile, so much teeth. Please I'm begging you... please send help. He's outside."
"Ma'am help is on the way. If he's outside and your inside you'll be fine. Try to relax. How's your brother doing?"
"He's crying. Not saying anything."
"Don't worry. I need you two to stay strong right now."
Rose could still smell the thing. The smell got stronger and more foul. She gagged.
"It's going to be fine, I'm here with you." the officer said.
"How old is your brother?"
"He's seven."
"Where are you now?"
Rose didn't respond, she began to breath heavily uncontrollably. Max began to tremble.
"Ma'am?"
The window shattered. Rose bit her tongue and covered her brother's mouth. She heard the thing get in. It moaned. Shards of glass hit the ground, the walls felt like they moved. She heard the rooms door close. The floor creaked with every step it took. Rose grabbed her phone.
"He's inside." she whispered. "He's inside. He's inside.... He's inside... It's inside." the steps got closer and closer. And it's stench got bigger and stronger.
"Young lady, keep calm... stay... remain calm."
Rose closed her eyes. The sound of sirens came from the outside. It's stench and footstep stopped. She waited. She remained still, perfectly still, so still that it started to become painful. Her muscles screamed to move but she remained perfectly still. "Officer... I think it left."
"That's great to hear."
The door tore open. Wood pieces flew all over the bathroom, there it was, standing three feet away from Rose and Max. She let out an ear piercing scream that everyone including the officer can hear.
The creature swiftly grabbed Max's face locking eyes with Rose almost taunting her. Max's screams were muffled. It quickly yanked him away from the bathroom. Max tried to release it's grip to no luck. He bit his hand and immediately threw up. The taste of it's hands was like expired milk. It pulled him away out of the house. It was heading to Riverside Park.
"Rose?! Ro-"
Rose hung up the phone. She was in a state of shock, sitting on the bathroom floor, no longer crying, no longer screaming, no longer afraid.
There was banging at the front door. "Open the door!" someone said.
She got up and walked to the front door. She opened it.
"Madam, we heard that there was someone stalking you?" an officer said.
Rose got closer to the officer and snapped. "IT TOOK MY BROTHER!!" She yelled at one of the officers. "THAT THING TOOK MY BROTHER! HE TOOK MY BROTHER!" she grabbed on one the officers shoulders and began to shake him. "MY BROTHER IS GONE! WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?!"
An officer tackled Rose down pinning her to the ground. "Lady where is your brother?!" an officer said.
"WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST SAY! HE'S GONE, IT TOOK HIM AWAY!" she managed to say.
"Ma'am what does your brother look like?" a female officer asked. "Maybe we can find him."
"NO. MAYBE NO! YOU ASSHOLES WILL FIND HIM. HE'S A SMALL WHITE BOY." Rose took a deep breathe. "He... he had a Sponge bob shirt, brown hair. That thing took him away. Find him. PLEASE!"
The officer handcuffed her and dragged her into one of their vehicles. She fought back. "Lady, we need you to relax." he closed the door. Rose was banging on the car's window with her hands and even her head.
The car drove off.
