Comfortable but practical clothes.
Check.
Two swords and a Shinobi tool pouch.
Check.
Storage scroll inside a protective casing full of all sorts of goodies.
Doubt i'll need it, but check.
Cloak much too big for me.
Check.
And finally after all this time, two bracers, each with a barrier seal ready to activate at a moment's notice.
Check.
"So what are you gonna do now?" I ask.
"I don't know," replied my clone, "Read a book?"
"Well if you don't mind, you could track down your evil twin," I ask.
"Still have found the traitor clone?"
"No but it's not like I was in any condition to look for him the past week. Now I've been cleared by Sensei and I can use my Chakra again."
"Is that your plan today? Find the traitor clone."
"I don't know… maybe? It would be kind of a waste of a day off don't you think, it's not often i have the whole day to myself. No Orochimaru, no teammates, no responsibilities."
"Except the ones we impose on ourselves," my clone said.
"Well yeah, but I'm just gonna pretend they don't exist today."
"Well whatever you do today i wish you luck."
"If you need something to do, you could work on the shrapnel bomb project, that's been sitting on the back burner for awhile now."
"No. I've done nothing but work sense my creation, think i'll take it easy for a bit, see what this world has to offer in works of fiction."
"That… actually sounds quite enjoyable, if you come across any good books be sure to just buy them."
"Do we even have the funds?"
"Yeah, we got plenty."
"We're not using the money Kakashi gave us, that's for groceries, and other necessities," the clone said, making it clear there was no room for argument.
"...fine, guess I'll start doing D-ranks regularly again," I said, annoyed at the idea of doing D-ranks.
Honestly most D-ranks weren't a problem, but some were a test of patience to put it kindly, It's never the actual job that's annoying, rather the people.
Looking at my clone I get an idea.
"You kno-."
"No."
"Come on, you didn't even let me finish."
"Answers still no."
"Just think about it."
"Ok… and would you look at that, the answers still no."
"I bring them into the world and this is how they thank me, ungrateful," I say walking out of my room.
…
With the original gone I grab a bag before starting my journey to the library.
Just as I'm about to leave I get an idea.
Looking down at myself I see a near identical copy of the original, minus the Shinobi gear.
Same shirt.
Same cloak.
Sand sandals.
With a quick change to my base appearance, which is super easy when you're made of chakra, I change into something less dark and gray with a cowl thingy that goes a little past my shoulders replacing my cloak, lastly I remove the Konoha forehead protector, my hair flops down over my eyes.
The original needs a haircut.
One last quick alteration to the length of my hair and I was ready to make my way to the library feeling a bit more like my own person.
As I opened the door I was met with the sight of Minato.
"Kakashi's not home, I'm a clone, please take your business up with the original," I say trying to walk past him.
Minato grabbed my shoulders and the feeling of the ground disappeared causing me to momentarily panic before everything was back to normal.
What the fuck.
Looking around I see I'm at one of the training grounds.
Did he just?
To me.
Is one of those marks on me now?
"Sozo, I know your just a clone but you're still Sozo," Minato said.
Really?
Did he have to say just a clone?
"But I need your help."
"What could you possibly need my assistance for?" I ask.
"You've been studying the Second Hokage's Fuinjutsu as well, I need your help."
"My research is focused around barriers, anything else and I'm mostly clueless."
"Don't worry it's barrier related," Minato said, pointing at… what the name of Tobirama is that.
I saw a seal placed onto a tree, from the seal black Fuinjutsu marking expanded into the air, not needing solid ground of any kind. The tree it was on was bending much further than should have been possible without snapping in two.
"What the hell is that?" I yell at Minato.
"It's… um… a space-time barrier."
"And what could you possibly need my help for?"
"To turn it off."
Just as Minato finished his sentence the barrier expanded ever so slightly causing the tree unfortunately to be next to it to bend even further.
"Go get your notes and stuff on this barrier, we'll go over how you made it and hopefully find some way to deactivate it."
"About that…"
"..."
"I didn't make this seal, it's one of the second Hokage's."
"Do you know how it works?"
"I thought I did."
How does this man regularly use space-time Fuinjutsu and not end up dead.
"Go get everything you have on this seal, we'll need to understand it if we wanna deactivate it."
"Right," Minato vanished for a few minutes before reappearing right in front of me,"got the stuff."
So I do have a mark on me.
Lovely.
