Chapter 34 - Tall Tale: Fated Anomalies?

Fate… what even is it really? Is everything set in stone? Or is it just another word for luck?

Even one such as I do not truly know if fate is real.

Every time fate looks to be an unchanging path an anomaly disrupts the path shifting its course irreversibly.

But that just begs the question, are they truly anomalies or were they always meant to interfere?

Sozo, such an anomaly doesn't come around often. but those two are coming soon. the last brother is almost dead, then the cycle with reset, but this time an anomaly will be present.

For all his potential, Sozo doesn't stack up when compared to those who fate favors. His predecessor found this out the hard way.

Hmm? You want to know more about his predecessor?

Sure why not.

When I say predecessor I mean previous anomalies of which there has only been one other.

He arrived long ago after the time of the Sage of the Six Paths.

Oh yes the Sage of Six Saths was very much real.

Now please save your questions, tell after I'm done talking.

Other then being an anomaly the two share no connection. They aren't even from the same world.

I said no questions.

I don't want to keep referring to Sozo predecessoras as he, so let's refer to him by his only know surviving record.

Father.

Father arrived in a time when chakra was abundant but mostly unknown, he was a bit of a pioneer as well, made lots of discoveries, very few in the current Shinobi world could even match his intellect, let alone even be worthy of being compared to his creations.

Father's time was a treat to watch, his influence is still present in the Shinobi world even after all this time.

Sozo's predecessor didn't seek out conflict, he was more of a scholar than a warrior.

But he grew two powerful, the people feared his power, they feared his creations, called them Demons, and him the Demon King. So the brothers put aside their rivalry and stuck him down, Leaving the so-called Demons fatherless.

But like the loving father he was he created a safe haven for his children in the event he failed. You see Father wasn't given a choice, the powers of that time had decided coexistence with The Demons was impossible, so he fought back against the world, erasing entire civilization off the map before he was killed.

Father hide away his children and used his intellect to wage war.

what was once a love for creations turned into wrath as he brought life to creatures of power not seen sense the Sage of Six Paths.

but he was betrayed by one of his creatures of war.

And so Father was no more.

His refusel to let go of what he truly cares about even if it means his death sound fimiler?

No?

Well that's ok, I'm sure there are those who will understand.

I haven't seen one of Father's children in quite some time, but I'm sure they are still around.

Hmm?

You wish to know more about Sozo?

Well he's actually closer to you in age then he is to Kakashi, I think Sozo was only a little over a decade younger then you. your, what like, 35, maybe 36, I'd say he was around 21 or 22 at the time of his death.

Sozo wasn't as bouncy in his previous life. seems dying has had quite the impact on him, and that's without mentioning the largest change in Sozo, the unification of his being with the original Sozo Akinori.

All right I'll give you one more.

For all his effort to have a positive attitude, Sozo is quite cynical.

He didn't even trust you.

Why?

Your loyalties were clear.

Sozo didn't believe you'd side with him over the village if it came down to it.

Nor did he expect you to ever side with him.

Would you have turned on the village for Sozo? You are well aware of the darker side of the leaf, and how it wanted Sozo.

If the darkness came for Sozo, and he resisted, would you have helped him?

Or would you turn a blind eye.

Its for the good of the village after all.

Because we both know that the Hokage would let the darkness take Sozo, and in exchange the darkness would leave Kakashi alone.

The darkness has it's eyes on Kakashi as well after all.

But that's no longer a problem thanks to Orochimaru.

If anything, I believe Sarutobi values Sozo more than Kakashi now.

Orochimaru seems to have grown fond of Sozo after all, much more then he ever intended.

Losing Sozo would have detrimental effects on Orochimaru, chances are he'd give up on bonds all together.

Sozo is his last bond he's not willing to sever.

Orochimaru is willing to sever his bonds with the village and those who care for him, if it means achieving his goals.

But with Sozo there's no need, if anything he'd probably go with him rather than stay in the village.

No you didn't fail Sozo.

He's not a child, you never were going to be able to secure his loyalty to the leaf.

Even after what the village did.

You're still loyal.

Don't worry Sozo isn't stupid, he won't make enemies with the leaf for no reason.

So all the village has to do is not antagonize Sozo.

Unfortunately the Shinobi system has a nasty habit or wronging the people willing to fight back.

alright I'm done speaking.

alright last question before I go?

Who am I?

I'm just a curious observer.

I've been here before your world was even born.

I appreciate the company it was getting lonely.

Well I wish you a long and tiring wait for your son

-------------------------------------‐----

Try not to think about it.

Or do.

Your choice.

------------------------------------------

I just go places sometimes don't I?

I'm glade i didn't release this on the first, but here i am still releasing it.

kinda stupid of me.

I sometimes regret certain things in this story. sometimes I can't write so I just put words on a page and see where things go. there's a lot I would change about this story, but it still fun so I'll live with it.

I'm sure I'll absolutely despise this story.

the actual chapter i released, not this thing i have to take responsibility for. originally had Obito in it, but once again he was cut. it's never even related to Obito and yet he always gets cut.

I wrote that like the actual story is any better but it's really not.
