After receiving the silver token from Sid Evans, Bas King quickly exited the cage wanting to look for that guy, Eric. However, no sooner then he stepped down, he was swarmed by a crowd of people.
"Bazzy, I want your autograph!"
"Bazzy, I want your baby!"
"What was that move you used at the end? Evil Dragon Claw? That was so badass."
"Make room, make room! Manager coming through, MAN-AGE-MENT, you hear me?" suddenly Little Piggy's voice overpowered the others as she squeezed her way to the front of Bas. "Everyone gets a chance with the future-champ, just line up in front of me!"
Little Piggy looked back to wink at Bazzy, only to discover that he had left at some point. The crowd around her was equally stunned, as no one noticed Bazzy Dagod's movements. They were too distracted by this fat young lady! Bas used the very instant their attention was shifted to slip away without a second thought. Only a few shadows who never took their eyes off the target were able to see his movements.
More than 700 yards away in the sewage outlet, Bas King was dashing back the way he came. Luckily he committed the path to memory, "Sheesh, who would imagine I would earn 55 gold credits and 500 silver credits in one day. Wait until mom finds out, she's going to freak out. If I did choose to stay in Mortalee, I could likely become a god-like existence."
Bas slowed down and crept into a narrow pathway.
"Thanks to the silver token, I was able to slip away easier than a ghost. Only a few people followed me, but I lost them easily enough." Bas was aware that he had made a big scene. He had been tailed by quite a few people, but how could they possibly outwit a great pharaoh?
There were surely many people who wanted to tail Bas or even rob him. There were also cameras lined up through out this corner of the sewage tunnels. He knew he wouldn't be able to escape the eyes of anyone with access to those cameras. He could avoid all the others easily enough with the silver token, though. His experience as a great pharaoh made him better at stealth than any mortal assassins.
"They said I would be able to challenge the champion. Should I go back and do so? Maybe I'll return in a bit." Bas was only slightly interested in besting the so-called champion.
Mainly because this would make himself the new champion, and Bas had no interest in holding such a title. How would he stay lowkey like that? Of course, the road to battling the Fourth Class Hunt Experts required him to do so. Being lowkey would simply take too long.
For now, Bas intended to comprehend the new hunt skill that had been developed in his Evil Dragon Sovereign Record. Bas used twenty of his gold credits and his silver token to set up a weaker version of the famed Heavenly Isolation Barrier formation. This formation only required fourth class inscriptions, making Bas barely able to complete it. His moved his feet in a mysterious pattern as he used soul power to write myriad soul runes. After he was done the narrow path released a bright white light before hiding Bas figure completely. Unless a Grand Hunter showed up to hunt Bas down, he would be safe to cultivate here.
He sat down guided his perception into the Evil Dragon Sovereign Record in his soul pool that was already on the verge of overflowing. The second imprint was releasing sky-breaking and light element soul power. Bas immersed himself into the runes that had developed autonomously and started spinning the Evil Dragon Sovereign Record once more. As he lost himself in the feeling of being an Evil Dragon Sovereign, Bas King saw visions in his spiritual hunt qi. He directed all of his faith power into those visions as they slowly became clearer. An enormous draconic creature with eight wings and a menacing crown of horns was gliding through a distant cosmos.
The creature was easily the size of several suns.
"The Eternal Realm?!" Bas was shocked when he recognized the pressure surrounding the Evil Dragon Sovereign. However, he suddenly realized something that shook him to the core. "No way...there's no way the pressure of the Eternal Realm would feel so real in a mere vision...unless...could this be the legendary Celestial Realm?!"
This was not a baseless conclusion. Bas had named the record the Evil Dragon Sovereign Record based on its morphed appearance after he modified it. It looked exactly like an old projection of the ancient Evil Dragon Sovereign Bas had once seen in his past life. He believed it wouldn't be hard to find a Evil Dragon constellation. The Evil Dragon Sovereign was once the most powerful and destructive force in the universe, so he had surely left powerful constellations along the way too celestial ascension. In an attempt to break through the limits of godhood and become a celestial, the Evil Dragon Sovereign tried to devour several star systems. It waged war against the hunters of the world who eventually injured the mighty beast and drove him into hiding.
Even back then, the Evil Dragon Sovereign had never been seen since ancient times. He was thought to have died in silence somewhere long ago, with his descendants. However, what if he never died? What if the most powerful dragon in history had actually accomplished his goal? What if devouring all those billions of stars, in addition to the following battle of life and death, finally pushed the Evil Dragon Sovereign over the threshold? After all, the Evil Dragon Sovereign reflected in his soul pool looked exactly like that projected image, only twice the size! The power of faith was guiding Bas King to the inspiration of his new hunter record.
At this moment, the Evil Dragon Sovereign's eyes glowed golden as it looked directly at Bas through time and space. The gaze was so piercing and chaotically powerful that Bas body was assailed by a foreign will and his consciousness forcibly drawn out. Before he could blink, he arrived as a projection of will in front of this colossus.
"Seeker of my truth, possessor of faith, state your name." A mighty and overwhelming voice nearly dispersed Bas' will altogether. However, he held tight, refusing to let go of this golden opportunity.
How could such a feat be possible for anyone other than a celestial? Not even the gods could drag someone's consciousness through time and space to such an extent.
"This little one's name is Bas King, formerly the Pharaoh God Everflame," Bas didn't hide anything, as he wouldn't dare to disrespect a celestial being. He was nothing in front of such an existence, whether it be this life or the last.
"Everflame? Keeper of the lost Eternity. Perpetrator of the Fall of the Gods. Has it been 1,00,000 years already? Time is so abstract..."
"WHAT?! 1,000,000 years?" Bas King didn't even have time to be shocked that the Evil Dragon Sovereign knew who he was, he was dumbstruck by the following insinuations. "Excuse me, your eminence Evil Dragon Sovereign. What is this Fall of the Gods you were referring too?"
"Please refer to me as the Celestial Dragon Pharaoh. It is within by expectations that the perpetrator himself may be unaware of his action's consequence. We refer to your assault on Osiris' Gate as the Fall of the Gods." Boomed the mighty voice of the Celestial Dragon Pharaoh. "As punishment for that event, your soul signature was banished from returning for 1,000,000 years. Of course, as this only happened 100 years later, I supposed it should be 1,000,100 years."
"Yes, honored Celestial Pharaoh. Merely, I never attacked Osiris' Gate," Bas King couldn't help being confused. So he waited 1,000,000 years to be reincarnated? Didn't that mean that nothing he knew of existed in the world of today? When did he ever plot on Osiris? Why had no one told him that he did this?
"Hmm..." The Celestial Dragon Sovereign's deep voice echoed across the stars. "Open your mind."
"Sure," Bas King lowered his defenses, as he was completely defenseless before this mighty being anyway. A bright white light overcame his vision instantly before fading away.
Thundering laughter ricocheted off planets like a ping ball.
"So, it turns out the Council of True Pharaoh made a big mistake." The Celestial Dragon Sovereign said after a bout of laughter. "You have been mislabeled as an accomplice to a traitorous villain, when in fact you were the one who thwarted the villain. The soul of that woman was somehow made into a timed explosive. Diabolical. Had you not intervened, the consequences would have been far more severe. By intervening, you not only saved yourself and countless souls, but you also saved that poor woman's soul.
"Unfortunately, your Flame of Eternity suffered from the explosive power of the Infinity Flame. Perhaps, you are the only one who could have resisted that explosion. It is likely the owner of the Infinity Flame that framed you as the villain. Perhaps this was petty vengeance for ruining his plan to eradicate the legion of gods."
"So wait, you mean that explosion was no accident caused by our bickering?" Bas King suddenly felt he hadn't paid enough attention during his stint in the afterlife.
"The two souls near you were incapable of communication. What you perceived as responses were the ticking of a time bomb and the instinctive fear it brought to the surrounding souls. All but your own, which was protected by the flame of eternity. Had you made it to Osiris as per usual, you would have immediately been resurrected as you please. Such is the privilege of eternity," Replied the Celestial Dragon Sovereign.
Bas fell into deep thought, and the Celestial Dragon interrupted those thoughts promptly. "You were betrayed by the society of hunters and forcibly presented as a monstrous villain. They discipline children with tales of you in the Eternal Realm. You and I...are not so different in this respect. I have decided to allow the aligning of your faith with my ring of truth. Unlike the astral ring you gain from aligning with my constellations, this ring contains all of my truth beyond the boundaries you can imagine. Venture forth, young pharaoh, and climb your way to revenge. One day, you will see me again. At that time, perhaps you will already possess my avatar."
Bas blinked twice and discovered he was suddenly back in his own skin. His barrier had dissolved the moment his will was drawn out by the Celestial Dragon Sovereign, so he quickly reactivated it. After sitting back down, Bas noticed the changes in his body. His Qi Record had completely evolved thanks to the Celestial Dragon Sovereign's Ring of Truth, which seemed far more powerful than a regular astral ring. His Qi Record was now a proper soul record and produced a new soul skill.
"Or maybe I should call it a Truth Record?" Bas King seemed to like this celestial-tier distinction.
As Bas revolved his truth record, he noticed that rhombus like scales made of scalding dark element soul power layered on his skin protectively like translucent armor. They were paper thin and barely noticeable to the naked eye. Weak draconic might radiated from Bas' body with the appearance of the ghost scales. However, shadowy mist constantly secreted from these scales, making Bas seem far more dark and menacing. It was a bold look, but Bas sort of favored it.
"My new soul skill is called Evil Dragon's Flight. It's a max Bronze Class movement arte that increased agility, intelligence, and luck at the level of an advanced Silver Class. This means that when trained to perfection, Evil Dragon's Flight will increase all three stats by 40 points!"
How incredibly crazy was this? This was the advantage of being blessed by the celestial sovereign of dragons.
Bas simply couldn't wait to start training this skill immediately. He collected his silver token and gold credits and edged back into the main tunnel. Hiding his aura and changing out his mask to one with a crying face, Bas rotated his Evil Dragon Sovereign Record and kicked off from the ground.
Evil Dragon's Flight!
Bas' agility instantly increased by 15 points, making his movements so agile and smooth that he couldn't help but to gasp. His mind felt much clearer, and he couldn't help but feel more carefree. His ghost scales gleamed darkness, becoming three times as thick. In this state, there was no difference between himself and a Hunt Expert that specialized in agility. And this was only the primary wood grade level of understanding for Evil Dragon's Flight. Merely, without advancing his hunter cultivation, the advanced wood grade was Bas' current limit.
However, now that the Evil Dragon Sovereign Record had evolved into a Record of Truth, it no longer possessed anything like a limit!
