Two hours later, Bas King was seated in class staring out the window during their mid-day break. The noisy class around him was buzzing with the latest gossip, but he couldn't be bothered to participate. Lucara often snuck glances at him, making Charles fume in jealousy. Simpson, who sat next to Bas in class, was in the middle of a heated discussion with some classmates.
"Have you heard?" asked a girl in blue as she touched Simpson's broad shoulders with her delicate little hand. Her cheeks were flushed red like she was drunk.
"Yeah, it's all over the news," Replied Simpson Simpleton casually.
"That's the fifth victim this month. This moon succubus is terrifying," said another male student.
"Don't worry they seem to only capture handsome dudes, so you'll be perfectly safe bro," Simpson replied to this guy.
"You calling me ugly, punk?!" that male student stood up and grabbed Simpson by the collar.
Three other students stood up and surrounded Simpson's desk with threatening sneers of their face. Since they were on break, the teacher wouldn't be back for now. They could easily jump this big bastard in the meantime. In fact, the male student holding Simpson really wanted to find an excuse to teach him a lesson.
'Steal my girl, will you? Be ready to be an embarrassed loser.'
"Take your dirty hands off of me, Pewter," Simpson's countenance changed for the worse as his face darkened. The boy named Pewter stood at about 170 cm. Compared to Simpson's 192 cm he was truly overestimating himself, "Don't make me smash you, little man."
"You think we're all afraid of you like your punk ass booty partner, Frobastian?" Classmate Pewter Shields raged proudly as if he were venting the frustrations of the masses.
In reality, he was simply jealous since these two tall jerks always stole the spotlight in class just be being there, but they never even showed off. 'What a waste,' Pewter thought. 'If I had that kind of attention, how great would that be? How much would I milk it? All the class beauties would be mine alone.'
"Eh?" Bas King snapped back to reality after hearing his name stained with such vicious slurs and insults.
He was a completely heterosexual male, how dare this insecure peasant refer to him as a 'booty partner'? Bas felt that even an actual homosexual would take offense to such vulgarity. How could he allow his afro to suffer such insult? It was disrespectful to his vow! However, before Bas could speak, his irritation was trumped by the outrage of his admirers.
"Shut your ugly mouth, Rocky! You're just jealous because Brenda left you to confess to Simpson," said classmate Rebecca Washington.
Bas just smirked in amusement. Embarrassing secrets were suddenly spilling out, such drama was rare. Even Simpson blushed a little at the mention of this. Picture that! A big lummox like Simpson blushing. Bas was speechless.
"Didn't Simpson hook up with his older sister too? Rock's just a sore loser," shrugged classmate Brenda Ruby, chiming in with her friend.
"Ugly boys are always so talkative."
"I think maybe he wishes he was someone's booty partner."
"Gasp! Maybe he IS someone's booty partner."
Once the females of the classroom started to chime in it became unstoppable. All manner of insinuations and insults were hurled at Pewter.
"Shut...SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTHS, WHORES! YOU'RE ALL FILTHY, YOU'RE ALL, oomph," just as Pewter stood up to admonish the women who insulted him, a stylish, size thirteen sneaker broke through his front teeth and sent him tumbling backward pathetically.
Gasps were released from most of the class before eyes shifted to Bas King, whose leg was still suspended in the same position. His afro had never looked so cool to the class as it did now. It was as if he was posing for a martial arts sculpture, his form was flawless. In fact, it took Bas' peak concentration not to end this punks dog life with this kick. After all, at the fifth level of Hunt Foundation, Fifth Class, Bas was powerful enough to carry several tons of weight. A kick from him was nothing to sneeze at, to say the least.
However, Bas didn't pause because of concentration on his martial arts form. He paused because at the moment he moved, he felt a sudden heat arise in his abdomen. Activating his spiritual sense, he was able to see an amethyst ember in the center of his qi pool. It looked like a crystal flame seed.
'Purple...Hunter Soul?' thought Bas King privately, 'It doesn't look or feel like my everflame. A variation? Fusion? Evolution? Is this good or bad?'
"Boss!"
"Big brother Rock, are you okay?"
Pewter's lackeys ran to help him up, inwardly terrified. They enjoyed frivolous lives at the school thanks to Pewter's intimidation. Many people had been crossed by them, and even some ladies had been bullied to no end. If anything happened to the big boss, their lives would surely not end well.
"You should really not talk to the ladies like that, Rocky Boy," said Bas King casually.
The girls in the class all swooned, gazes full of heat and desire piercing through Bas' body like arrows of invisible light. As he slowly lowered his leg, even Lucara felt her blood's rotation quicken a bit.
This brat had style!
Chivalry!
Much better than any of her lovers. If he wasn't ten years her junior then maybe...
"Oh my, Sebastian..."
"Wow, so tough..."
"I think I fell for him..."
"He's okay...Simpson is more chill. I like the laid back type. Sebastian is a little scary..."
"Tsk, if scary is this hot, I hope he's terrifying!"
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
"Yuth bith! O yuth durtif suk oth uh bith!" Pewter Shields tried to curse Bas through his broken teeth as his buddies rushed to pick him up. The class couldn't understand his dribble, but Bas knew what he said.
"Those words just now...dare to say anything that could be related to my mother again, and you will lose far more than just teeth."
Fierce!
Imposing!
So regal!
Bas King's eyes were malicious and his face dark. A killing intent imperceptible by all but Pewter himself suddenly invaded the latter's mind. Pewter's legs quaked and he collapsed like a limp noodle as his boys struggled to keep him up.
"Sheesh... I wonder if Bas had a bad morning or something?" Charles said innocently, as he was shocked. Who expected his friend to be so domineering this morning?
Charles had never seen this friend of his so aggressive. It was rather impressive, yet completely out of character.
Hearing this, Lucara Angels' face turned red as she remembered the ride to school earlier.
🐉
"It is so cute how you always come to pick me up for school. I enjoy our mornings alone together." Lucara sat behind Bas on the latter's hoverbike.
Bas couldn't help but grow excited when he felt her full chest resting on his back. After all, even in his previous life he had quite the limited experience with the opposite sex. How else could he have been murdered by his own love interest? Merely, in this life, he was determined to associate heavily with beauties. He would spend less time immersed in the world of cultivation and more time enjoying life. After all, his knowledge and reflections had all carried over to this life.
Lucara was only the first beauty he befriended. She smelled like flowers and love with her arms wrapped around Bas' neck as she whispered sweetly into his ear, "I like you a lot Bas, but it takes a lot to date a princess like me."
"Oh yeah? What exactly would it take?" asked Bas King, no trepidation or anxiety present in his voice what-so-ever.
It was as if he believed that she would surely be his no matter what. Lucara thought she would find this disgusting, however, it made her heart jump. Was this boy really as bold as he seems, or was this just due to the elation of improving one's strength? How would he act in the face of death? How would he behave if he knew her true strength? That was what Lucara needed to see.
"Hmm. I like strong men, who defend the honor of women when other men would demonstrate hatred towards us. There are not enough men in the world who cherish a good woman." Lucara's soft and sensual voice was sweet like candy. Goosebumps were forming all over Bas' arms as he listened to her. "After all, women make this world what it is. How could any of us be born without a woman?"
"I am, of course, the most woman honoring man in existence. I once saved several maidens from a berserk Waki in the middle of a snowstorm. I always help old ladies cross the road. I cook dinner for my mother and sisters and I consider my father a bastard for not being with us. I'm obviously the embodiment of your desires. This is not an issue." Bas King replied indifferently.
"Hehe," Lucara giggled from the purest region of her dark heart.
She hadn't felt so sweet in quite a while. In this moment, she felt like a naive little girl again. She found herself wanting nothing more than to believe in the lies of the man she likes, even though she knew he was lying to make her laugh.
Lucara felt this Sebastian shouldn't be too far from what he was pretending to be. "Well, that's very interesting. However, I haven't seen any of these things from you. You will have to show me."
"Eh...I don't know," Bas scratched his nose gingerly.
"What? Having second thoughts?" Lucara felt a little disappointed.
Where was that drive she was searching for? Was he just a coward after all? All talk, no action? However, these thoughts were cut off by Bas' next words.
"Once I show you, what's next? Another mission? More trials?" Bas King sneered, "I need to at least know whether or not you have the interest."
Lucara was stunned, but then she smiled sweetly. She slid her palms down the broad back of Bas, before sliding them under his sturdy chest. She felt infatuated with this sensation. Bas was also stunned, as his body reacted fiercely to her touch.
It seemed he would need to go through the trouble of proving himself, after all.
🐉
"Was it...for me?!" after thinking up to here Lucara was stunned.
This boy...she made the decision that she would definitely not let anyone else eat him up! Sebastian King would be the next on her list.
