I am about to start my ride with Elva when I suddenly realize something else. I turn around and look at her, feeling kind of like an idiot, "What is the address of the next house?"
Elva seemingly suppresses a snicker while starting to think. "It should be about 30 houses to the left of ours." I laugh inwardly.
'You can snicker all you want but good luck surviving Blossom.' I turn around and tell Blossom, "Follow her instructions to a T, don't overshoot it but go as fast as you can, alright?"
Blossom senses her Master's happy mood and chirps with bliss while Winter, who was lazily sleeping on my head, wakes up when hearing me say this to Blossom, and grips tightly to my head, seemingly fully awake now.
I have a bed feeling when Winter does this, 'What did I do wrong?' I feel Elva grip onto my waist, seemingly also sensing something is off. All of a sudden, Blossom extends her claws to full length, making 4 inch long daggers, and gets into a launch position. "Uh-" is all I have to say when all of a sudden, my neck whips back from whiplash as we launch forward. Wind whips past us, people and surroundings are nothing but a blur, I can barely make sure Elva and me stay on, more or less, focus on my surroundings.
After a minute, we make it to the location. Elva's hair is a mess and her eyes as wide as ever, and shivering while I'm covered in black wisps with purple eyes. 'Note to self, tell Blossom to never go full speed.' I get off, my knees slightly shaky, as I pat Blossom on the head once. Before I walk over to Elva and look at her, she is an absolute disaster, but what Elva says next makes me laugh.
"Is that thing *huff* meant to be owned?" I laugh and Elva joins in, seemingly finding my appearance as funny as hers now that the armor has been removed. My mildly long hair is stuck backwards, making me look like sonic.
I realize why she is laughing and go to fix my hair when I feel a shivering gelatinous blob. I quickly realize something and take Winter off, just to see that he is shaking like a piece of jello.
I put him on Blossom while I fix my hair, making it look as regular as I can without a mirror. Once I am satisfied, I look over at Elva who has already fixed her hair, and has stopped shivering. 'When I get home, I need to see why Blossom can run that fast.'
Elva looks at me and nods before walking up to the house and going on her usual rant. While she is doing that, I get bored and walk down the sidewalk a bit, telling Blossom to stay here and watch Elva. She denies at first till I order her to, which then she sits down and looks sadly at the ground.
I walk down the street, seeing people pass by of all sorts of races, but not as many people as the market. I suddenly hear a scream for help coming from behind a house, I look around and notice that the few people to be there are all walking around, continuing like nothing happened. I see this and suspect everything isn't as it seems. I jog towards the place between the two houses and stealthily walk between them, trying to stay quiet.
As I reach behind the house I see a girl bound and tied up with rope, tears flowing from her eyes and constantly yelling for help. She sees me and starts begging for me to help her, a glint of hope in her eyes.
"Please help me! Please! My-my family has a lot of money, I can pa-pay you back, just please help me!"
I suddenly feel a hot sensation in my shoulder and a sharp pain as I take a step forward. I immediately roll forward and land, turning around to see a man in what looks like a red ninja suit.
I suddenly see a status window in front of me.
—————————————————————
"You have been injected with feather fang poison, -50% to all attributes for 2 hours."
—————————————————————
I suddenly feel weak as if I could only stand. He looks at me with a curious expression as he slowly steps towards me. His voice sounding interested. "So you are the supposed kid who we were hired to kill, interesting...and you survived the poison on the blade, which makes me want to see what your capable of!" All of a sudden, I hear a voice from behind me, a female voice.
"Hey, Aragon! You know we can't mess around on missions, we got paid to do our job and we need to do it!"
I stare cautiously at my two new opponents, the girl behind me crying out for help towards me.
'The women seems to be the more serious of the two, I gotta take out the weaker one first so I don't have two targets.'
I reach my hand behind my back slowly, and materialize a dagger made with shadow weapon, designing it to have a curved blade.
The girl and the guy glance at me before the guy pulls out a dagger that looks just like the one in my shoulder.
'I can barely move, more or less, use most of my abilities. So I am gonna have to aim to finish this as quickly as possible and wait out the poison in my system.'
As I think that, I wait for them to make a move.
The female looks away from her colleague, unsheathing the blade on her back. "We need to finish this now, there is a reason we were told to handle him quickly." Her blade looks like a katana, but it has saw like teeth on the back and the blade is light green. There are different colored gems along the edge, pulsing, as if it's alive.
She then runs towards me and pulls her arms back, about to slice me down, but as she is about to, I quickly pull the dagger over and barely block the attack. Surprise fills her eyes before she quickly adapts and spins around on her foot, landing her heel in my side, causing me to go flying and land in a tree with a thud.
'How the hell is she so strong?' I question as I look at her, but then I see it, green wisps covering her body. 'She's a body and a weapons mage! That explains her glowing weapon!' I think as I try to lift myself up from the ground.
The guy looks at me, glee in his eyes, "Ooooh, a fighter! I like this kid! Can we keep him?"
The woman looks over at him and sneers, "Stop fooling around and help me kill this kid." He sighs as disappointment fills his eyes while he pulls out two daggers from their sheathes on his thighs. "Okay....." The daggers start to glow red as the gems pulse and his body starts to have red wisps of energy flow off of him.
'Why does my first life and death fight have to be between two dual mages, and two weapon mages at that?!' I think as I finally haul myself from the ground and activate my shadow armor, covering me from head to toe, leaving nothing but two purple slits for eyes.
They both stop their movements and look at me with awe struck eyes. 'A berserker mage at his age? Who is this kid? And that poison should be limiting his magic...' She thinks while she looks over at her partner who is almost jumping for joy. 'Fight driven idiot.'
She turns back around and stares at me, trying to find a weakness in my defenses. She sees that the area around the dagger is uncovered as the dagger sticks out from my shoulder. She looks over at her partner and a voice can be heard near his ears.
"I am going to try and dig the dagger farther into his skin, distract him while I do that, maybe we can kill him with the poison if he gets enough of it."
He looks over at her and nods, seemingly alright with this plan.
He runs forward and strikes at Kurayami with his right blade, Kurayami pulling up the blade in his left hand to deflect, causing sparks to fly. Seeing the open opportunity, Aragon takes the blade in his other hand and whips around to his right on his heel, trying to stab Kurayami with his free blade.
I see as he is about to stab me and quickly materialize a second blade, deflecting his blow by a few inches. Aragon then continues to spin and takes his left blade, stabbing me right in my side. He looked like a spinning blade of red death. I yelp in pain as the blade goes through my armor and pierces my skin, burning the cut the second it makes contact.
I take my left hand and let go of the blade, grabbing his arm that is occupied with blocking my other ethereal dagger. I am able to grab it and I squeeze with all my strength, causing his arm to bend in a weird shape and give in with a snap. He screams in pain, as if he can feel it to his very soul. I then take my other hand and grab his throat, planning to end this quickly. He panics and removes the dagger from my side, taking it and stabbing my arm. I shout in pain and retract my arm, seeing the dagger now sticking out of it as Aragon jumps back, his arm hanging limply at his side.
