Chereads / Shadow Emperor in Another World / Chapter 51 - [Chapter 51] The Tabaxi

Chapter 51 - [Chapter 51] The Tabaxi

The tabaxi looks up at the ceiling, seemingly daydreaming. "You remind me of someone.....I haven't seen him in a long time, but I always hope to see him again one day, somehow."

Erika opens one of her eyes and glances over at Vitruvius, "Why do I remind you of him?" She was curious, mainly who Vitruvius was, but she saw this as a way to get to know him on a more personal level.

He senses this and gives her a short reply, trying not to reveal too much information, but one that shocks even her. "He was a fool who would only do what he felt was right, but he always had this aura around him that gave off a kind person. You also give off that aura, but I sadly can't see it physically, unlike one of my old party members."

She thinks for a moment, digesting what he said, 'What type of kind aura is he talking about?' But as she thinks on this, a new realization hit her. She acts like she just woke up and looks around before looking back at Vitruvius and continuing to talk with him in a more comfortable position. She gets a few glances as people see this but no response.

"Why are you talking about him in past tense if you don't mind me asking?"

He sighs and looks down back at his lap, his face suddenly turning sad. "I don't know if he is dead or alive, but it all happened during that one mission....."

Her eyes sparkle slightly at the word mission, 'He must of worked for someone big, he displays a sort of demeanor that says, "Don't mess with me." But it is barely noticeable unless you look directly at him, his....glorious....fur.....his...sparkling teeth...and his.....beautiful eyes.' She snaps back to reality, realizing she is daydreaming again. She still couldn't believe she found her true love in another dimension.

She unknowingly continues to stare at him, causing Vitruvius to smile, he gets up and grabs her arm, starting to pull on it, "Cooooome ooooon, we got stuff to do!"

She is shocked and caught off guard, almost falling down, but she manages to catch herself as she is pulled out of the clinic's back to the entrance. The nurse at the entrance looks at Vitruvius and waves her hand, "Hey! Wait!"

He stops and looks over at her, "What?"

She blushes as she looks at him and pulls out a clipboard.

"She needs to sign out before leaving." Erika glances over at Vitruvius before taking the clipboard and seeing her written down as "White Dragonborn?" 'Clever.' She thinks sarcastically as she crosses off her "name". And hands the clipboard back before her and Vitruvius leave. But as they leave, the nurse feels like she just got lighter, like a burden was released from her.

As they walk out, she sees the snow everywhere and smiles, 'It was always a bit too hot in the kingdom.' Not many people knew this but because white Dragonborn are rare in this world, no one really knew their element they would breath which they would also be immune to. White Dragonborn breath ice! But Vitruvius....he's....unique.

"Oh yeah, your a white Dragonborn, forgot you guys are immune to the cold." He facepalms very lightly. "No wonder you weren't frozen. It's been a while since I last saw your species, in fact the last time I saw you was.....the mission against her....." she tilts her head, curious who he was against. "Who were you against if you don't mind me asking?" He shakes his head, "Sorry, not saying, that's confidential." As he says this, he casually swings around a pouch with gold coins in it before gripping onto it, 'I never do things for free, so I received my payment from that very generous nurse.'

As they continue walking, Erika seems a little tense as she looks around at all the different species, but never sees a single Dragonborn. 'Where are they? They exist here thanks to Vitruvius's statement a little bit ago. But where are they?' With that she looks over at Vitruvius, finally realizing something, she is holding hands with him. She blushes so much her white face turns a light pink. 'I'm acting like a child but I can't help it around him.'

"Hey Vitruvius....would you like to....go out on.....a date with me?" She blushes even more at every word, embarrassed she is asking this so soon but if she doesn't now, she doesn't know when she would. Vitruvius looks over at her, "Sorry what did you say? I wasn't listening."

She is in shock at this, but quickly recovers, "Nevermind...."

"I'm sorry, what I was thinking about is that if you stack 2 lasagnas on top of each other, would it make a tall lasagna, or a lasagna sandwhich?"

Somewhere else in Restard

"Are you ready Elva?" Kurayami says as he looks at her, his face as cold as his voice, which has a small tings of worry.

"Ye-yeah....yeah, I'm ready." 'There is two days before I go and I need to help Elva overcome this so she can begin to become a better person in society. Anyone can be redeemed, it just takes effort!' Thinks Kurayami as Elva and him step out the door, it automatically locking behind them.

'I still can't believe they got this far without technology.' I think as I follow Elva down the street, becoming even more nervous with every step. I glance to the left of me to see Blossom walking with her head held high, probably because everyone is walking to the other side of the street at the horse sized cat.

'Took her less longer than what it said, that's for sure, and I had to get five chickens this time, there is gonna be no money left by the end of my existence.' Winter sees me looking at blossom and gets jealous, squeezing my head violently, although it just feels like a massage.

"This is the first house." She says as we reach a white, two story house. There is some movement in the windows, but not much. As Elva walks up down the sidewalk, she looks like she is starting to shake slightly. 'What the hell did these guys do to make her act like this?! She is acting like they scarred her!'

'She is on the steps, now in front of the door, she is about to knock, and she is walking back here! What?!' I stare at her as she stands in front of me, her head down, and she sighs, "I can't do it..."

My eyes and face are filled with disbelief, "What did they do to make you this scared of them?"

She looks up with defeated eyes, "It's not that I am afraid of them, but afraid to ruin their expectations, they have always held me in high regards but now I'm telling them I am done."

I stare at her, now slightly angry, "Seriously? They are inflating your ego, seeing you like an all powerful being, but treating you like a god is not gonna help you grow stronger! It's gonna make you be left behind, here is a question, how old are you?"

She continues to look at me, and murmurs, "15....."

"And why haven't you entered into a school yet?" I reply angrily. Currently, if you walked past, you would think that I'm the older sibling right now, but luckily no one is nearby.

She looks up, her face looking even more depressed by the minute. "They said I wasn't able to cast fast enough to qualify as a regular mage..." all of a sudden, her face grows angry, "...but I could probably cast faster tha-" I stare daggers at her, prompting her to shut up. She loses herself mid-sentence, and stops talking completely.

"Good, now, you need to tell them you are no god, your only a person who is decent at magic. And if you don't do it now, then when? You let them inflate your ego again so we repeat the cycle?" I point at the door.

"And it's their fault you failed the test, they inflated your ego so much you didn't even practice, you could be in there right now, learning with the best minds of your age! But your stuck here, with those losers at the bottom rank!"

She looks up at me with a furious look carved into her face. She turns around and she marches up the steps and knocks on the door, I see an elf open the door, smiling while about to greet her before she stops him and begins going on the biggest rant I have ever witnessed. When she is finished, the door is slammed in her face and she walks back down the stairs, breathing heavy breathes, cooled down from her anger. 'She scares me more than anything else on this planet right now. Not even a Karen can compete against that rant, if anyone disagrees, let me speak to their manager.'

I see Kar-Elva walk up to me, still huffing. "Was that good?" "I definitely will be having dreams about that tonight so yes, you did fantastic." She smiles, "Was I really that scary?" I nod, "In fact, I doubt he will ever bother you again." I say while I stare at the house and memorize the location.

Elva laughs and we begin to walk again, 'She seems a lot less nervous now than before, guess I finally got her to face her true problem.' I think while I look at her smiling face. 'And who knew that she could laugh like that?'
