Chapter 49 - [Chapter 49] A Heartfelt Moment

'What am I thinking?! Even if she apologized hundreds of times, it doesn't change the fact she treated me like a piece of trash!'

"Listen, I understand that you may be sorry, but apologizing isn't gonna solve what you have done, actions speak louder than words. Tomorrow, I want to go with you and I want you to meet every single one of those people who stroked your ego, and tell them you decline their philosophies."

She nods slightly, "Okay, I guess this is my first step at redemption." I shake my head and tell her something that makes her smile, the tears still in her eyes.

"The first step to redemption is not facing it, but admitting to it." I inwardly start laughing, 'Now I can also find out who the hell they are and give them a "warning" to leave Elva alone.'

I get up and hug her, 'Although never in my life did I think I would be doing this.' She holds me tightly, with a hug of love, something that I thought Elva wasn't even capable of.

In the shadow dimension, a white full Dragonborn is running through the corridors, bursting into the throne room and bowing before the thrones, her high voice still ringing discipline.

"My king, what is the urgency to interrupt my search for the kid." She keeps her head low, but her about shows slightly out of the black hood.

"You can immediately halt your search, we have discovered the whereabouts of the Dragonborn." She looks up slightly, a pained expression on her face. 'I was hoping I could find the kid for his majesty. Damn!'

Yet the king continues, "But there is an issue...he is in another dimension." She freezes, even her breathing stopping, 'Wait, what?' She bolts upright from her kneeling position, "What do you mean my king?"

He nods, seemingly expecting this question, before explaining, " Us Shadow Dragon King's have the innate ability to travel between dimensions." He gets up from his throne and motions for her to follow while walking behind his throne, waving his hand to activate stones shifting, revealing a hidden pathway. "Please follow."

She swallows and nods before following him, entering the doorway. She suddenly hears stones moving and glances behind her to see the wall close off.

They walk down the passageway until they reach a giant room with a large pedestal in the middle and steps leading up to it. There are two white stones embedded on the steps and lines of wire leading directly into the pedestal from the crystals. The king begins explaining.

"We began to research into the transportation ability and found a way to replicate it, but at the cost of massive amounts of mana. So we can only use it when the white crystals are in it and fully charged. The white crystals in the stairs power the rune circle, giving you the ability to travel to one dimension and back."

"I will be sending you there to get him and I would like you to bring him back to the palace, the kid is a prodigy and I need to see him personally as quick as possible. Are you able to do this?"

She stands there, her mouth agape, her professional demeanor gone. Never did she think that she would be able to hear of such a project, more or less, use it. She starts daydreaming about what other dimensions are like, her brain day dreaming of meeting the perfect man for her. After a while, she snaps back to reality and nods with a serious face. "Yes my king."

He motions for her to stand on the pedestal while he walks over to a silver handle in the wall and stands beside it. She slowly steps up the stairs, savoring this moment. She can feel the power of the crystals underneath her feet, they pulse, as if they are breathing in the air.

'I am about to enter another dimension, I wonder what its like there? How dangerous is it? Will I be safe? How many dimensions are there?' She finally steps into the middle of the rune circle and stops, preparing herself for her travel. The king sees this and patiently waits, knowing she must be nervous. The circle lays under her, as if it is dead. After about two minutes she looks at him and nods slightly, "I am ready."

He grabs onto the silver handle and enters his mana into it, causing the white stones to light up. The wires glow as power courses through them, the rune circle starts glowing, first dim, then brighter, the brighter, then bright enough to blind people. All of a sudden, the light disappears, and she is gone.
