Chapter 7 - [Chapter 7] Family Introduction

As I hear the feet hit the steps I see Sylvic wave his hand for the kids to sit on the seats near me. I see four kids, two girls and two guys. Sylvic clears his throat and looks at them to speak. The voice that comes out is gentle yet serious. "I want you to be kind and introduce yourselves to him, I will explain who he is specifically later."

Who I presume to be the youngest elf of the four walks over to me. "Hi! I'm Elanor and this is Berry!" She says enthusiastically as she holds up a cute white stuffed bear with a cute pink bow on its left ear.

"Hello, Elanor! Hi Berry!" I say, trying to sound excited and apparently succeeding. She smiles and sits down right beside me. She is about 5'3 ft tall and leans towards more of her mother's looks. She has a smooth face and light skin, blond hair, a bright smile and has green eyes full of energy. As I see her green eyes, I glance at their father and notice he has emerald green eyes and try not to laugh at how blind I must of been to not of noticed that.

Next, an elf around 5'7 ft tall walks over and says calmly, "Hi there, I'm Aeron, it's a pleasure to meet you." And bows his head a bit before sitting across from me. He has blond hair and blue eyes, but has the face of his father, it looks kind but his body has a slightly bigger build than his father's.

Who I presume to be the oldest of the group walks over and greets himself in a slightly irritated tone. "Hi, I'm Estel." And sits down beside his younger brother and pulls out a book titled, "How to Master the Flames of the Fire Affinity, by Charlie Richards" and starts reading it. He is 5'9 ft tall with brown hair and blue eyes. His skin is the same tone as his father yet has a slightly larger build than his younger brother Aeron.

Last, an elf girl walks over and says in a kind tone that couldn't be faker than plastic being called food, "Hi there, I'm Elva, I hope you have had a good day!" She sits down in a chair to my left, she is about 5'8 ft tall with brown hair and blue eyes. She has the same skin tone as her mother and is just as skinny. She has a kind face and has curves where are needed but I could care less.

'That one. She is one of those self centered, I think I'm the best, pricks, I can sense it!' While in reality, Sylvic nods in approval. "I need to go speak with your mother about something." And leaves.

I look around the living room, there is a stone fireplace big enough to have a campfire in. There are windows that show the outside snow outside and the night sky. It seems to be around 7 pm. I look around and see a family portrait. There are 24 kids in the painting, all with a variety of looks and clothes. 'Elves have poor fertility my butt.' I think as I stare at the photo.

I sit there quietly, not knowing what to do, the awkward silence in the room as they look kinda nervous, until all of a sudden, I think of an idea to break the ice! I look at Estel and ask, "So what affinities do you have?" He glances at me and then responds with a bit of irritation in his voice, "Fire." I look at Aeron and ask the same question. "What about you?" He looks at me, happy I asked and says, "Light." And puffs out his chest in pride. I then look at Elanor and ask, "What about you? What affinities do you have?" She looks excited to be included in the conversation and responds, "Water!" I then look at Elva, "And what about you?" She smiles at me and goes, "I don't feel comfortable telling."

I stare at her and she smiles back, "So what about you? You're asking us about our affinities without even telling us yours?" I stare at her with irritation in my eyes. "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you guys. Mine is darkness." 'Like crap I'm telling her about my other ability.'

She holds back a snicker, "That's a rare affinity, congrats!" 'I am gonna find sooo many ways to make fun of her.' I think, starting to imagine many many ways to embarrass her. All of a sudden, I hear, from a cheerful voice in the kitchen, "Dinner's ready!"

I wait for them to get up before me and then I get up last and follow behind. They give me a look like, why are you following us, but say nothing, except When we near the kitchen, I smell a delicious aroma trail from the room in front of us and then I see the source. On the table, there are roasted rabbit legs, what looks to be a mushroom soup, a plate of berries, and a pitcher of liquid that transfers between the colors yellow and pink.

I almost start drooling from the sight but I contain myself or at least try to. The kitchen is kept lit by crystals in the four corners of it, as I look around I see it has a counter and what appears to be a sink. There are cabinets above and below and what appears to be a wood stove and a big one at that. At the table there is Sylvic and his wife sitting at opposite ends of the table. I wait for the others to sit and sit beside Elanor, who seems to be happy I'm sitting beside her.

'Now I can see if they have a belief or such.' I think as I watch them and sit patiently. They do no such things to show that they have a belief or anything of such, if anything, they act like how a normal people would of on earth. They grab food and start to eat, I wait till they are done and then grab an appropriate amount of food, and pour myself some of the color changing drink.

I take a bite of a rabbit leg, it's hot and delicious, the seasoning melts in my mouth as I take each bite. I then take my spoon and try a bit of the soup. It tastes warm and the mushrooms taste like just regular brown mushrooms but the broth is another story. It makes the mushrooms taste sweet as I eat them but the soup alone tastes rich and creamy but it isn't heavy like you would expect from the white color of it. I then decide to try a bit of the color changing drink, it tastes exactly like pink lemonade! I eat the food with no complaints and wipe my mouth and hands with the napkin I see under our silverware.

As the other kids finished their meals, they went to get up but Sylvic says each time, "Sit, we need to talk."
