Chapter 7 - Goddess' Court

Hein raised an eyebrow hearing this. Of course, anything that concerns Veta is interesting to hear. Learning about what happened for Veta to earn that unreachable title of 'goddess' in the hearts of the students is a wonder. How did she do it?

"There are originally only six titles offered, namely; the Queen of News, Queen of Questions, Queen of Craftsmanship, King of Character, King of Recreation and the King of Leadership. And when one was bestowed the title, only by two ways can the bestowed lose the title; by graduation, and by losing the qualifications of the title. My title, the 'Queen of News' was bestowed to me during Grade 9, when the last Queen graduated," Eirein explained as Hein listened.

"The King of Leadership is also our classmate, while the Queen of Questions and King of Character were also in our batch. The other two were in the lower grade levels. Originally, no other titles can be given, as it disrupts the natural order of the school that cycles for a few decades already since the founding of the school. However, the school made an exception for four girls. And they are Sveta, Kora, Rhydd, and Nix," hearing the name of his love, Hein perked his ears up, paying more attention to this detail.

"We were just halfway through Grade 8 when everything happened. A rally, no, a massive rally of both the student body and the teachers resulted in that exception. Sveta was every students' dream, a role model, as she was all talented, smart, beautiful, rich, and kind. Not a single notch lower. Almost everyone in this school praises and admires the kind hearted girl. And when the voting for the titles happened, everyone wished for the innocent girl to have a title of her own, only dedicated for her," Eirein said as she moved her body to the side to allow some students to cross the bridge.

"Paired with Sveta's schoolmates and teachers' wishes, students from other schools also joined the protest, steeling the girl's pedestal in everyone's minds. Sveta's qualities also led to the willingness of the school administration to bestow upon her the title so unreachable, that only her can achieve, the 'School Goddess'," Eirein said, as she looked at Hein's undisguised admiration.

"Wow, my V is even admired by those of other schools?" Hein excitedly said, proud of what his V achieved in such a short while they were separated. Eirein nodded in agreement.

"Since then, the 'Goddess' title was always attached to Sveta's name, and even the three girls who always hang around her was brought to fame," Eirein continued.

"Each of them was given a title and was added to the unreachable 'Goddess' Court'. The court was taken up by the trio, and each of them given a title fitting of their character," Eiren said as she prepared herself to narrate a longer piece.

"Raven Kora Celare, or also called the Princess of Love. Utterly famous for being flirty, friendly, and can make any young boy fell in love with her. She's the representation of love, friendship, family and relationships in the school. She might appear as a despicable bitch, but that is just a front to know the two sides of the same coin. Usually, when rumors of break ups or the likes were spread throughout the school, she was the first to act, and with the assistance of me and my own court, bring the lovers back together. She hated seeing friendships being destroyed, and vowed to heal broken hearts and to fix relationships. More or less, she was influenced by the Goddess' character to behave like that," Eirein explained and pointed at a couple walking out of a store on the other side of the bridge.

"That couple was one of those that got blessed by Kora's help," Eirein pointed, with Hein amazed at the history of Veta's friend.

"Next up is Ciele Nix Ferro, or also called the Princess of Ingenuity. She's mostly lazy, sleepy and kept a low profile. She hated attention but her talents took the notice of the whole school. Her motto in life is this: 'Give a difficult job to a lazy person and that person will make it look easier'. That same sentence was paired up with Nix's ingenious ways of solving problems without using too much strength, earning her the title. She loves to think outside the box, and she should have been given the title 'Queen of Craftsmanship' but she declined. Thus, the administration decided to give her a 'princess' title, joining the court of the goddess. She does not get along with others that well, with the exception of the goddess and the two others," Eirein said and opened her phone.

"The 'Where Is The Goddess?' app was developed by her when Rhy rattled day and night to get her to do the project. Finally, patience took its toll on her and decided to give Rhy what she wanted," she explained as Hein was still hesitant to acknowledge that the sleepy girl beside Veta is an unparalleled genius.

"And the last one is Priya Rhydd Lasich, the Valiant Princess. She has a chill personality and loves to joke around Sveta. She smiles around all day, but she's also money minded. She sells numerous Veta merchandise, and she gets along other people very well, helping them get closer to the goddess while also earning money. But amidst that money lover front, all the earnings will naturally be donated to a charity home, helping the helpless kids and homeless elderly within, the reason why the goddess let her take advantage of her prestige. She has a soft spot for the street children, and is often seen offering them to be taken to the charity house, where they will be protected from the harshness of society," as she said that, Eirein sighed and Hein could make up a tear formed in her eyes.

"The main reason why she was called the Valiant Princess was because she once saved an elderly from being hit by a truck by pushing the elder from harm's way, not regarding her own safety. Rhy was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries, and even a fractured arm. She was still far from full recovery even now," Hein's eyes were full of respect for a brave and kind person.

'Just who were hanging around with V these past few years? Each one of them had a feat that no ordinary high schooler can achieve. My V really is lucky to have friends like them,' the suave boy thought to himself.
