The next day Daeho did his morning routine, coupled with the school where things went, as usual, he got to know a little more about his classmates and that is where he was, currently during the lunch break.
Daeho is more of an observant type of person, and after watching the many people in his classroom he decided to open up to the ''kids'', it was obviously awkward for him as a guy who had been in his 20s in his past life to live in the middle of teenage kids still getting hit by puberty and irrational thoughts, and going before thinking about things. Something that was verified by the actions of the bad boys in the class which had both their hormones climbing upon their minds and had their actions disregarding the future of their lives, both with questionable outbursts and misconduct in class or what they assisted of the class.
This in itself was okay, Daeho wasn't going to educate these guys about how stupid and disrespectful their actions were, way out of it since that would just bring discord between him and the group. The issue however comes when they come to you.
They had barely interacted with each other. Nothing could be said to be out of the ordinary on that day, Daeho was just minding his own business in a secluded spot where he could eat without people coming without him noticing.
That was the worst part of having to hide your identity for what he knew. Maybe it the being 'ill' part had helped him repel the curiosity of the youths in class. Some people didn't quite believe in that, but as long as they didn't go their way in uncovering what is below the mask, everything would be okay.
Daeho was just on his own looking at the phone looking at the monotonous life of his little baby in the screen of his phone. A smile could be seen on his face, a tender one. While he took a bite on a sandwich he had made at home.
In a way, this was his way of relaxing from everything. The training the doubts, the fears everything, here he was just a casual student eating his lunch while he was looking at a very cute cat. This was a sort of peace he began treasuring.
A couple of minutes went by and Daeho began hearing voices of boys and girls laughing and loudly talking to each other.
The voices were getting closer and closer but Daeho didn't really care. He just normally wore his mask and began grabbing the trash he had made. He just felt bad for not finishing his mango juice, which he grew to enjoy since it had been the favorite of the past Daeho, it was actually quite good, more the sweet and soury taste it gave and coupled with the texture in the mouth.
He grabbed the drink lastly and prepared to leave. Right in this instant, and the owner of the voices was about to cross the corner that separates his spot and the rest of the school.
'' Bro, I am being serious I found this spot and we can just chill, without anyone coming.''
One of the male voices said.
The one the dude was addressing was about to peak when he was faced with a ready to leave Daeho. The youth began grinding facing Daeho.
'' Oh look at who we got here... The sick duck.'' He began approaching Daeho who turned a deaf ear to them.
This seemed to tick the youth a little so he continued. '' You are probably hit by your dad in the face and want to hide your disfigured face.''
While saying those words he was looking intently to Daeho's eyes hoping for a reaction. He began feeling proud of himself when he just saw Daeho's eyebrows arched in amusement, followed by a little shake of the head.
' Since when did street wanna be outlaws give these insults? Now that I think about it I have been in this situation before. Looking at it now it was quite stupid of my part before.'
Daeho was actually shaking his head because of how he was perceiving his attitude when he was younger. He couldn't say he hadn't been an impulsive kid before, he actually wasn't but like everyone else he had his brain stop moments, the situation he was addressing was one of them.
What had ticked him was the fact that he didn't know his parents, and although he had a motherly figure just the mere speech about not having a father and how his father ran and all things related to that actually moved his heart. Ending with him actually getting in a fight with 3 other kids from the other group and he couldn't say he was experienced in fighting since he got himself a free ticket to the hospital with many bruises.
The only thing he could say that he benefited from because of the event was the many classes of self defense he did after school at the insistence of his adoptive mother. Nothing out of the ordinary, with the basics of karate, boxing, and everything of the sort. Nothing to the depth of top fighter level but more to the in a 1 on 1 fight with a competitive fighter he could win, because of the diversity in styles he had practiced.
That had happened around when he was 13 years of age and was a good thing for himself, but in the end, he actually barely used the knowledge and moves he learned. The more you know about fighting the less you want to get into a fight.
'Why did I get mad at them? Being at the start of puberty really messes up with someone. Everyone yearns for what they don't have, not valuing what they have until they lose it. I was happy with my adoptive mother and she did more than any other parents together did for their actual sons. And thinking about it even deeper nothing would mean that if I had a fatherly figure he would do me good.'
He was actually having a monologue while the group of youths in front of him just stared at him, while the taunting dude had a slight red tint to his skin, an obvious indication of the growing displeasure of the person. This actually confused Daeho because he didn't say anything and he barely heard him after the attempt in taunting him about his looks, which was quite stupid since he knew just how handsome he was. Not narcissism just self appreciation.
