Old man Zhen lived on a hill overseeing the rice crops. It was still early morning, and cows were gnawing at the grass on the nearby field. A youth was climbing a pole, tightening a rope. Identical wooden poles were set up across the field, and the rope ran through each and every pole.
"Brother LongHai! What are you doing?" MingYu called out as he walked on softer soil now and tried to keep himself up with a child in his arms. It was no easy task, with ZhiYi hanging on his other hand and Meimei clucking away with dissatisfaction.
"Putting up stone bottles will scare the birds away." LongHai hollered before jumping down from the pole. "What you got there, MingYu? You care for kids now too?"
"About these two, do you have any food? They are starving. This one tried to steal my egg." MingYu pulled ZhiYi's arm up and shook it gently.
