"Since when?" MingYu whispered as he let his legs hang free over the edge of the cliff, leaning his head on ZhiYi's shoulder. The two seated at the edge of their little world, gazing at the distant lanterns that hovered over the sea, slowly floating out of sight.
MingYu played with ZhiYi's fingers, marvelling at the coarse skin that had moulded his hands to wield a sword. He noticed both ZhiYi's hands were as rough and worn out. But if his memories served him right, ZhiYi only ever wielded a weapon in his right hand. How odd…
"Hm, about what?" ZhiYi hummed, his eyes cast over their intertwined fingers. A smile persisted on his lips as he watched MingYu rub his palms as if he had never seen hands before in his life.
"You know," MingYu blushed over his own curiosity, hiding it by turning his face away. Somehow, even at this age, living for over a thousand years, he still felt shy when talking about it. "You have felt this way… towards me."
