"What are you talking about? I don't-" MingYu's voice died out as the suffocating scent invaded his space, pushing through his senses. It was so overpowering and sweet, he could feel his teeth ache, the pain drumming across his jaw all the way up to his skull. He lifted his sleeve over his face in a desperate attempt of shielding himself from the smell, but it gave little comfort.
The surrounding people threw offended glances, murmuring among themselves as the scent suddenly grew stronger and the crowd shifted a step back.
MingYu peeked from behind his raised arm and spotted a fairy-like creature stepping out of the carriage with a servant's help. Her cherry blossom coloured robes swayed with her every feathery step, the thin fabric draping over her narrow shoulders.
YueQin had quieted down beside MingYu, her fingers loosening their hold on his robes, as her eyes studied the young miss Lu with curiosity.
