"I don't think your plan will work, Arthur despises her, and that goes without saying for Sean, " Irene told Rose.
"They better do their best cause I won't spare them if it doesn't work," She said.
Irene watched Rose silently thinking about how Arthur had warned them about her bad temper.
"Why did you allow her to come near you again?" Rose asked.
"She wanted to talk so I gave her a chance "
"I won't let her go if she hurts you again even when I know whose mother's she is"
"Don't worry I won't let her do that to me anymore " Irene promised.
Rose smiled, "Now can you go with me and we enjoy some ice cream" Rose begged.
"But you just had both lunch and dessert back at the restaurant "
Rose frowned, " Are you coming or not?" she asked.
"Okay am coming " Irene gave in.
Sean passed by his parent's home on his way back home. His mother was in the kitchen. She asked if he would stay for dinner.
"No I can't, I just wanted to ask why you met with Irene again?" he asked.
"She already reported to you "
"I found out from someone else but I still want to know why. You have hurt her enough already let her be " he begged.
"I didn't do anything bad to her and only talked "
"Mom I love you but Irene is something I can't afford to lose. If you keep hurting her and one day she decides to give me up. I promise I will never forgive you " Sean walked out of the kitchen and left.
It was then Sean's mother knew how strong their love for each other was. Her son had finally grown up.
Sean arrived home but Irene wasn't home yet. He called her phone but she didn't answer.
Arthur called him instead, "Come pick up your girlfriend," he told Sean.
Sean had to drive to Arthur's mansion. Arthur was standing outside the house with an angry face.
"Why are you looking at me like that? " Sean asked.
Arthur led him inside to his room. Irene was in bed with Rose. They had fallen asleep in their bed. The room was filled with empty ice cream containers and other snacks.
Rose seemed to be clung to Irene and didn't let her go.
"What the hell did they do ?" Sean asked.
"Do I look like I know ?, get your girlfriend out of my bed so I can sleep next to my wife " Arthur pointed at Irene.
Sean walked to the bed, trying to find a way to untangle Rose from Irene.
"Don't even think about waking Rose up or you regret it " Arthur whispered.
Arthur gently moved her arms from Irene's neck then moved to her legs.
Sean carried away Irene the moment she was free.
"Close the door after you leave, " Arthur told Sean as he got in bed next to Rose.
Sean arrived home tired as he placed Irene in bed. She didn't wake up during their ride back home.
"Why did you two have to eat all that junk ?" he asked.
He undressed her and cleaned her body.
He covered her and left the room. Sean was worried about his mother's actions.
Irene was strong but she didn't deserve to be treated badly.
He wanted her to move in with him again but Irene had refused. He had finally bought a house and placed it in her name. He wanted them both to start their life officially together there. But Irene was a tough nut to crack.
Since his mother's actions of throwing her out, she had completely refused to go back to his house.
He looked at the deed and frowned.
Would he ever have what his best friend Arthur had found in Rose?
He wanted a home with Irene, one they would also have their children in and love each other.
Now that he thought about it, they had been trying to get pregnant but there were still no results. Was something wrong with both of them? He turned to the closed door of the bedroom and wondered.
He would ask Irene to go with him to the hospital the next day so they could find out. Maybe after Irene got pregnant his mother would leave them alone.
Sean was up early the next morning.
"What happened last night with you and Rose?" he asked Irene.
"She made me move from store to store eating this and that and then drove me back home to eat more snacks," Irene said.
"Is she carrying babies or monsters in her belly?" Sean asked.
"I don't know but I was so tired last night that after I massaged her feet, I fell asleep too "
"Your a good friend after all " Sean kissed her.
Irene got ready for work but was stopped by Sean.
"Can we first pass by the hospital for a checkup " he said.
"Who is sick are you feeling sick ?" She asked him.
"I want us both to go for a checkup and know why are not getting pregnant after all the efforts we put in," he said.
Irene got her bag and coat, " Sorry but am not going " she said as she left, leaving Sean alone confused.
He had noticed the look on her face when he mentioned them getting a checkup.
"What was that look ?" he wondered.
Irene called Rose but she didn't pick up But Dorothy picked up after the third trial.
"She left with Arthur for her checkup at the hospital "
Irene thought of calling Alex but remembered she had to be busy with her son.
She knew Sean would find out one day but it was too soon. Rose and Alex who were her friends were all busy.
She remembered what Rose had told her.
"In case am busy you can talk to Vivian, it will help you to get to know her more "
Irene looked at her contact list and scowled. Rose had saved Vivian's number in there.
Vivian who had returned to the company and was busy with her work received a call.
"Hello," She answered.
"It's Irene can I talk to you "
Vivian was surprised to hear Irene's voice and she sounded sad.
"Sure you can " she answered.
"Then meet me at my bakery in two minutes " she hung up.
Vivian gave her secretary the rest of the work and left in a rush.
Irene saw Vivian's car arrive. She ran to the door and grabbed her arm dragging her away to the last seat in her bakery.
"What happened are you okay?" Vivian asked.
"I would have preferred Rose or Alex but since they are not here you will do just fine " Irene confessed.
"Am happy you considered me "Vivian smiled.
