Chapter 159 - Mood Swings.

Irene was busy in the bakery when she heard someone fight with the guards Sean had placed at the bakery.

She walked out and was shocked to see Sean's mother being blocked by them.

"We are sorry madam but your son strictly said you can't go near her " One of the guards said.

"I just want to talk to her that's all," she said.

Irene opened the door to the bakery, " It's okay guys let her in " Irene told them.

They obeyed and let her walk in.

Irene offered her a seat and left. She returned with two cups of coffee and a slice of pie on a plate.

She passes one of the cups to Sean's mother with the pie.

"Try it it's my favorite," she said.

Irene sipped her coffee as she watched her eat a piece of the pie.

"It's delicious " she commented after.

"Why are you here, I assumed you had stopped bothering me," Irene said.

"You stopped calling me mother " Sean's mother pointed out.

Irene smiled, " You told me to stop calling you that so I did "

"You may think am an evil mother but am doing all this for my son," she said.

"I know. But you think you're protecting him but you hurting him instead. It may be hard to accept that his happiness now lays in being with me but it's true " said Irene.

"But he might regret it "

Irene smirked at her answer, " Then let him regret it, and maybe after it goes sideways, he will return to you. But for now, all you have to do to make your son happy is trusting in his decision "

"Boss, this one asked for you " Irene's employee called her.

she excused herself and walked to the customer. She had a smile on her face as she gently talked to him. She helped the customer select what he wanted and then packaged it.

Sean's mother glanced at Irene, she was a beautiful and independent woman. But she felt she wasn't fit for her son. But his son and her old grumpy husband had all fallen for her. They seemed to like her so much that her husband had promised to eat her cooking.

She was surprised cause he never ate any way else apart from home and that was her cooking.

Irene returned, "Am sorry about that he always asks for me when he comes " she said

"You hardworking, intelligent, and beautiful but I still don't find you suitable for my son," she told Irene.

"I don't want your opinion anymore to be with Sean. As long as he says he loves me then I will continue to love him. I don't want to hurt him just for your sake" Irene explained.

"But am his mother so I have more right over him than you "

"I know but I own his heart and for me, that's quite enough. I tried my best to get on your good side and failed so I decided to ignore you and love my man " Irene smiled.

"What is she doing here?" a voice shouted.

Irene turned around to see Rose with an angry face. She walked to where they were and glared at Sean's mother.

"Still hot-blooded as always, " Sean's mother's said.

"Look who is talking " Rose sneered.

Irene noticed Vivian walk beside Rose. She was holding her back before she could get any closer to them.

"Am okay Rose, we are only talking " Irene said getting up.

"You and I know she has never talked decently to you, so I suggest she leaves before I make her " Rose yelled.

Her baby bump was now visible so Sean's mother noticed it.

"I would not like making Arthur's wife angry in that state," She said picking up her bag and overcoat.

She passed by Rose and Vivian who was holding her arm. Irene walked her out and returned.

"You sit, " Irene told Rose.

"Am not sitting where that old hag sat " Rose moved to the next seats.

Irene and Vivian followed her.

"Am sorry about her behavior it's her mood swings that do that " Vivian said.

Irene looked at her friend who was now staring at her with angry eyes.

"Why would you even allow her to enter here? , " asked Rose.

"She wanted to talk so I let her, I can't avoid her all my life if am still dating her son, " Irene said.

Rose had told Irene about her lunch with Vivian so she invited her too.

"Get ready we are leaving in two minutes," Rose told Irene.

Irene rushed away and changed then returned with her bag and coat.

"Let's go then "

Vivian was quiet in the car while Rose and Irene chatted. She didn't have anything to say and since they were both friends she could not intervene.

Arthur and Sean had arrived already, Sean hugged Irene.

"I can't believe Rose dragged us here for that witch " he whispered in her ear.

"I know but with Rose's horrible mood swings we can't refuse " She whispered back.

Arthur had ordered for Rose, so Sean and Irene, Vivian ordered theirs.

"You three know each other so let's not act awkward around ourselves " Rose pointed at Arthur, Sean and Vivian.

Rose left with Irene after and told the two men to spend time with Vivian.

Arthur and Sean had pleading looks as Rose told them what to do. But they obeyed anyway.

"I always get dragged in your mess " Sean argued.

"It's both our mess," Arthur said.

Vivian looked at them both feeling even more awkward.

They were all once friends but the world had turned them against each other.

She had fallen for Arthur after Victoria left which turned her into something she didn't want to remember. Even when Arthur had given her what she desired it was still not enough she kept pestering him.

It was then Rose came into the picture taking away all her chances of being near Arthur again. She had completely turned evil and tried to harm her. She smiled remembering how Rose had taught her a lesson.

"You both can go if you like, I can tell Rose both of you were busy and left, " She told them.

Sean got up but Arthur stayed seated.

"I don't think you have seen Rose act up yet when she's angry," He said.

Sean sat back down.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

Vivian chuckled and Arthur sighed.

"She's a beast. Her mood swings are now so terrible she hits me sometimes," Arthur said.

"I saw her almost hitting your mother back at Irene's bakery, " Vivian told them.

Sean got more interested after he heard about his mother. So Vivian told them what had happened.

And slowly with time the chat went on.
