When we'd arrived back at the new house, I was relieved to discover that Jason wasn't home. It was Sunday, so he was probably at the office trying to advance on work for the week, as was his usual custom for the weekends. At least I wouldn't have to face him until he came back, and by then, I could have an entire excuse planned out.
Sabrina had offered to stay with me and help me prepare what I was going to say to him, but this was something I needed to face alone, so I declined her offer. My best friend was truly my life saver. She would die for me and I would do the same for her. Truly blood ties didn't mean anything at all.
