"Ma'am," Hugo poked his head into my office again, but he looked ashen and pale, like he'd seen a ghost. "Uh… there's someone here to see you."
"I don't have any appointments for today, do I?" My brow furrowed as I looked through my planner. I could have sworn that there hadn't been anything written down in my notes or my planner about an appointment. Or maybe there always had been and I was really losing it?
"N-no you don't. Uh… the visitor is your m-mother," he looked down at the ground quickly and I could almost see him flinch behind the door. My neck immediately felt hot and my blood pressure began to rise steadily.
"What?" Didn't I explicitly tell him to cancel her appointment yesterday? What was she doing here? Did no one respect work ethics anymore? What in the world!
