As the sweeping hordes of demons approached him slowly and relentlessly, Alpha sighed. It is a fitting end, he supposed at least he could go out fighting. He drew his sword, the clear ring of the blade as it left the sheath ringing through the night as Alpha readied himself for his final battle. As the fist demons crested the hill and came into veiw, the stench of rot and death followed their misshapen and twisted forms as they approced his position, and they screamed a long, drawn out battle cry, that echoed through the valley, bouncing off of the empty husks of buildings and made a smile slowly creep asross Alpha's face.
Alpha, lept into the air, the ground shattering at his feet from the force that he produced, as he soared over the battle lies of the demons. Alpha streaked through the sky, and paused at the apex of his flight, savoring a brief breath of the fresh air above the height that the ever pervasive stench of the demons could reach. Sighing, in reluctance, he felt the pull of gravity take over, as his descent into hell began.
Seeing their hated enemy rocket into the sky, the demons screeched, and massed into one huge mass of roiling creatures that piled up, rising as is it wanted to touch the heavens, climbing toward Alpha in the sky.
Alpha looked down, at the demons below, and summoned all of his power into what he knew would be his final strike, as his body was iluminated with a furious white light that propeled him towards the demons faster, and faster breaking through the sound barrier repetadly. To an onlooker, it would have seemed like a bright star appered in the sky, before blasting downwards toward the horde below parting the clouds, and forming repeated shockwaves as it picked up speed, going faster, and faster, until it became a white line, like the finger of god touching the earth.
Arriving at the tip of the mass of demons in an instant, Alpha borrowed through the center of them before drawing all of his energy into his core, and compressing it until he couldn't contain it any more, then releasing it, and detonationg his core. For a brief moment, the bright light was snuffed out by the horde and silence reined across the landscape, before a blindingly bright flash burst out from the center of the demons, that lit up the night sky. At an ever increasing speed, a white spere expanded silently before collapsing back onto itself, into a single point of light, that hung in the sky for a brief moment, as if it was the new sun, before exploding with more force than a hydrogen bomb, scouring the surrounding landscape clean of the massive horde, as the demons were instantly vaporised into atoms by the intense heat and a deep, resounding *BOOM* echoed across the entire planet before the world fell silent once again, and darkness reclaimed the sky as it spread through the night.
At the bottom of the crater, that he had created, the broken body of Alpha lay, as felt his life force slip away, and darkness claimed him. In these final moments, Alpha thought of his friends, and family, that had died in front of his eyes, throughout his long life. His sadness and regret of his failure to same, even one of them haunted him, as he drew a final painful breath, and died.
