Valkyrie managed to convince Brown to go clubbing that night. Not only that, their best friend who never associated himself with bars or clubs was going with them. Who else could it be? Of course, it's Travis.
"Hey RV, are you sure you're coming with us? You hate flashing lights and noisy environments, don't you?" Valkyrie asked Travis who was currently putting on his coat. Valkyrie would always call him RV, that's the name he came up with when he was still training with the Eagles Detachment.
Brown rolled his eyes at the silly man in front of him. "Why can't he go? Travis needs to enjoy himself once in a while." Brown joined in the conversation while he put on his Bluetooth earpiece as their tool for communication.
It was true that Travis didn't like noisy environments with colorful flashes of lights, but somehow he had the urge to let off some steam tonight and to be there when they needed him.
"You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine." Travis walked out of the mansion and went straight for his car in the garage.
Brown and Valkyrie were following him to pick up their own vehicle as well.
"Are you perhaps going to hit on a lady tonight? I can help you with that!" Valkyrie presented himself with so much enthusiasm without realizing the deadly glare Brown directed at him.
Travis chuckled sensing the deathly vibe from their beloved doctor. "No thanks. If I were you, don't hit on girls as well. That is if you still want to see the sun tomorrow morning."
Travis got inside his car and closed the door right after saying those words. Valkyrie stood with a confused face. "What do you mean by that?!" He yelled at him even though Travis could hear him through the Bluetooth earpiece.
Savannah came out with a dazzling outfit. She wore a backless black dress that hugged her alluring body. A black silk gloves fit her hands like it was second to her skin. Underneath her dress was a military dagger and handgun.
Hawk stood beside her wearing a black suit and a bow tie. Underneath his pants were a dagger, a handgun, and a taser.
"Why are you still asking him? He meant what he just said. Don't hook up with anyone." Savannah glared at him before getting inside the Black SUV that Brown had started.
"Alright. I will be on standby mode. I will not hook up with anyone. I'll play perhaps or..."
"No playing either." Hawk interrupted him before taking a glance at Brown who was driving for them.
Savannah touched her earpiece and sent a message to Travis. "We're on the move tonight. Make sure that you have open communication." Savannah reminded him which Travis acknowledged.
"I understand. Make sure you all come back in one piece. If you think you're outnumbered, don't take the risk! I need you guys to be home before 3 o'clock tomorrow morning!" His firm voice and reminder resonated through their earpieces. Savannah sniffed to keep her tears from falling.
"Yes. We'll be home." Everyone responded in unison, getting themselves ready for the incoming battle.
They have identified one of the big shots who trade with illegal firearms, thus a mission was given to eliminate him.
As they gathered from their monitoring result and intel, the man was going to a party that night with his friends.
The hotel where the party was being held was close to Aviary Bar, a 10-minute distance if you walk.
At the same time, the bar's second floor had a complete view of the ballroom hall through the glass window. For a sniper, it was the best view.
"I'll be waiting inside the car. Remember, keep our communication open. If trouble arises, make sure to tell me right away." Brown reminded his friends before they set off.
This mission wouldn't be completed just by them. There were several military personnel on standby to help them if necessary.
Travis had arrived at the bar earlier than them. He chose a corner to sit in while listening to their conversation using his earpiece.
"Alright. Let's get moving!" Savannah announced before getting off the car. Brown dropped them off right in front of the hotel like a full-time driver.
Hawk held her hand and linked it to make them look like a real couple. The person at the entrance of the ballroom stopped them to get their invitation.
Savannah smiled and reached out the gold and black-themed invitation card. The man checked the name on his list before letting them in.
Hawk remained silent beside her but his eyes were already scanning the area for possible escape plan if something would happen to them.
"Don't worry. We'll be home. You got my back, I got yours. We're a team, remember?" Savannah whispered to him which made Hawk smile.
They roamed around the place and had a conversation with some people like they were real businessmen, they even let them know about the current projects that Travis's company has.
Yes these people are having a party and they might be acquainted with the man they are after, but they don't do any illegal activities which was why Savannah shared some piece of news regarding Travis's company.
A few minutes later, the hall sunk into whispers as a man at his 40s entered the hall. He had some people around him, giving praises and currying favor which flattered the man.
"That's him, right? The man who rose to fame recently for hitting a jackpot? He's cool." Savannah said with an amazed expression but her words were transmitted through her earpiece.
A man beside her who talked to them regarding some proposals that he prepared for a vacant space in Venus Industrial Park, smirked sarcastically.
"Yes. The man in the middle with a slightly long hair. That's Sudein Blaze. They said he made a fortune through mining but I don't believe that. Even mining would take some time. Anyway, I don't wish to make enemies with anyone. I'll go ahead." He waved his hand at them and left the hall. He didn't even try talking to anyone like what other people do.
Savannah smiled beautifully before looking up to see Hawk's gentle gaze. "Isn't he admirable? I think Travis will have a nice cooperation with him."
Hawk rubbed her head gently like a child. "You are amazing, too."
"Stop flaunting your love. Not only did I hear you, I can even see you!" Valkyrie complained as he surveyed the whole room through his scope.
Hawk and Savannah just laughed at him without saying anything. Savannah pulled out her phone as if she was checking on the time but she was actually sending a message to all military units.
At the same time, while a mission was taking place in a hotel not far away from the Bar where Travis was, a group of women came in.
Jillyanna and Cielo had taken their dinner before going to different bars. Even though they hopped from one bar to the other, Cielo and Jillyanna just drank some juice or light beers.
"Yanna, I have asked Lucian to pick us up at 1 o'clock. We still have time so let's hit the floor, alright?" Cielo tugged on her friend's hand and led her to the dance floor.
Cielo moved her body to the beat and rhythm of the music. Her hands were up high and her head was shaking from side to side. Jillyanna watched her dance while clapping her hands enthusiastically.
At that moment, she decided to grab a drink that could make her drunk at the last minute before going home.
She looked around to find a seat when a certain someone caught her attention. Jillyanna smiled even brighter.
"My eyes found a target," Jillyanna whispered to Cielo which made the latter widened her eyes.
"Oh god, Jillyanna! Don't do this! I was just kidding that I'd support you." Cielo held on to her hand tightly but she only winked at her before going off.
"I'm serious with this matter. I'll see you in a bit." Jillyanna walked her way to reach a certain corner despite some men trying to stop her.
Travis caught on a certain scent and he raised his head to see a pretty lady walking towards him.
"It's you." Jillyanna greeted him first before taking a sit next to him.
Travis raised his brow slowly. "Is that the new pickup line that ladies learned recently?"
Jillyanna laughed lightly before taking a sip of her drink. "What can I do? I like you when I first saw you. I practiced this line as quickly as I can."
Her voice was sultry and Travis was having fun talking to her. He wasn't sure if she remembered him or if she was just hitting on him, nevertheless, he enjoyed being with her.
