Chapter 77 - The Masked Man

Lander went straight to the Heaven's Forging as he was excited that there was really a living Legend and he was able to befriend him, though they're not really close. He was getting closer to his dream, to create a portal that would lead him back to Earth.

Going inside, Lander spotted Icebeard murmuring while writing things down. He went beside him and was shocked to see the ores Icebeard was jotting down as he gasped and beads of sweat was rolling down all over his body.

A hundred pieces of Lava ores!

Ten thousand pieces of gold coins!

A hundred thousand pieces of silver coins!

A million pieces of bronze coins!

Five hundred pieces of emeralds!

Ten pieces of Soul Stones!

Three pieces of Space Stones!

And lastly, three Element Stones according to the element stone I desire!

"These? I don't even know some of the ores and I have even no idea where to get it!" Lander cried in front of Icebeard.

"If you can't give me these items then I'm afraid I can't make the request you wanted," Icebeard replied nonchalantly as he continued, "If you want to know about these ores, you can find our library as it contain books about ores."

Sighing, Lander went straight to the library after he asked the location of the library.

But before arriving, he heard an angry voice, "Stop there outcast!"

"What do you want?" Lander asked stopping.

"What I want? I want to beat you down until you're dead!" The son of Evergreen Duke angrily shouted at him with his three lackeys snorting from behind him.

Ignoring them, Lander proceeded to the library as he just saw those people as ants, easy to trample.

"How dare you ignore me! Get that lowly human outcast!" The son of Evergreen Duke ordered bellowing.

They were about to grab Lander when they suddenly felt a stab on their thighs making them cry in pain.

Clenching his fists, Lander strode towards the Son of Evergreen Duke and also gave his thigh a stab before walking back towards the library.

Everyone who saw the scene were dumbfounded, it happened in an instant that they didn't react at all. But, they don't dare do something as Lander was being backed by the Dwarven Hero and his opponent was the son of Evergreen Duke.

Upon reaching the library, Lander felt like he was being watched. He looked around but didn't find anything inconspicuous, he just shrugged his shoulders and took books after books.

Three days passed when Lander finished looking for the informations of the ores he needed. And day after day, he always felt like he was being watched but when he tried looking around, he found nothing abnormal. For him, it was a very weird feeling.

Going back to the Heaven's Forging, Lander talked to Icebeard for a while before leaving as he intended to collect the requirements in about two months.

Night time, when Lander and Grey traveled to their first destination, Dark Forest. But after travelling for a while, the son of Evergreen Duke with his three lackeys again stopped them. They were fully healed as if they weren't stabbed by Lander.

"I will kill you right now! Unleash everything towards him," The son of Evergreen Duke bellowed as he casted his Earth magic while the three used their own swords and bows accordingly.

Sitting on the back of Grey, Lander was unfazed as he looked at the people below him. Grey on the other hand released his intimidating aura that made them trembled. He was about to attack when a masked man appeared out og nowhere suddenly killing the son of Evergreen Duke's lackeys.

"Who... who.. who are you?" The son of Evergreen Duke asked the masked man as he trembled upon seeing his lackeys began dying one by one.

The masked man removed his mask, "Now do you know who am I?"

"You? You should have died!" The son of Evergreen Duke was aghast as if he was looking a dead man.

"Died? You raped my woman and my sister, and killed my brother while my parents rotted in prison because of accusing us as the ones who colluded with the demons! I came back to avenge!" The masked man bellowed as he stabbed his sword to the son of Evergreen Duke.

"Even if I die you know that I can still send message to my father," The son of Evergreen Duke persisted as he said these words.

"Dead man tell no tales," The masked man sneered as he continuously stabbed the son of Evergreen Duke.

Watching the killing happened in front of him, Lander sweated as this was the first time he saw a killing spree that happened in just a span of a minute. "Who are you?"

Instead of answering, the masked man kowtowed in front of Lander, "Please make me your slave. I have been watching you my lord for the past few days and I know you don't want to dirty your hands. Make me your slave and I will do the dirty work for you!"

'So he was the one watching me all this time,' Lander thought as he looked at the man in front of him, "You want to be a slave of an outcast?"

"Outcast or not, you have the capability better than us elites!" The man said without getting up.

"Why me then?" Lander asked.

"My father told me to serve the man who was able to pinpoint the demon who infiltrated the Ceremonial Ceremony before he was locked up in the prison and died afterwards!" The man expressed but he wasn't really sure if this was a right idea. Still, he has to respect the dying wish of his father.

"You won't gain anything by being with me," Lander said.

"I believed that too. But my father believed in you, the man who can change my fate. So please, let me serve you!" The man said whilst still kowtowing.

"You have to prove your worth then," Lander said as he got an idea.

"What do you want me to do?" The man asked raising his head.

"I need you to find me these things: three Space Stones, a hundred pieces of Lava ores and three Elemental Stones." Lander said staring down.

"These.. I.." The man paled hearing such ridiculous requests.

"If you can't do it then you ain't worthy to serve me!" Lander said posturing a majestic aura.
