Two days passed when the old man and the guards left, a group of knights leaded by an old man entered the laboratory, they were nauseated by the smell of blood and the gruesome sight they were witnessing.
Scanning the inside of the laboratory, the old man who was actually Great Duke Bobby was pained upon sighting the body of his disciple, Lander. He immediately helped him and checked his pulse, unfortunately he was late. He released an overbearing aura that made all the people inside and outside shivered. He yelled as he gave an order, "I need those bastards alive!"
Lord Kazo, the acting leader of the knights immediately ordered some of them to follow the tracks of the devils while the others stayed and helped the other humans who were treated as guinea pigs.
Arriving outside, if Lander was still breathing, he would be stunned to know that they were actually leaving underground the Slave Town.
Inside the biggest tent was Great Duke Bobby, Lord Kazo and some officials of the Wyvern Empire were standing in front of Lander's body.
The Great Duke Bobby was very mad with his overbearing aura still being released. Lord Kazo was also in pain looking at Lander's unmoving body with no pulse.
The guards on the other hand were motionless afraid of making a sound that would make them incur the wrath of the Duke.
Suddenly, a knight entered the tent with shivering legs, "Gr... Gre..Great Duke, I have a report to make!"
"Say it!" Great Duke Bobby said that made all the people inside shivered as they felt their soul being invaded.
"W.. we have sighted the last track of the devils. I'm af... afraid.. the.. they were going to the Void Continent." The knight reported with difficulty.
Great Duke Bobby's mood immediately turned dark as he again released a greater aura that made all the people of Slave Town tremble in fear, some even limped down, even the officials of Wyvern Empire.
After some time, Great Duke Bobby cooled down and asked Lord Kazo who was breathing heavily, "How about the others who were also imprisoned?"
"Great Duke, we have a total of 30 imprisoned humans but only 11 survivors with 8 missing some of their body parts while the 2 were slowly turning into a devil and only 1 was able to survive. Thankfully, we made her drink the Elven Water given to us by the Respected Druid that made her cleansed of the devil's blood." Lord Kazo reported.
"Bring her in! And the two whose slowly turning, kill them!" Great Duke Bobby ordered.
Not long, the young woman was escorted inside the largest tent and immediately cried when she saw Lander's lifeless body, "I'm sorry! It was all my fault! I thought they would give me their freedom! For...for..give me!"
"Who did this to him?" Great Duke Bobby questioned eyeing the young woman.
The young woman explained everything to him and never left a single detail, even revealing why Lander suffered so much because of her. How she betrayed him and now being lifeless.
Great Duke Bobby was angered hearing that but immediately calmed himself as he can't really blame the young woman because she only did it for her freedom, to be reunited with her lover and family.
"Prepare a burial to the dead and leave here immediately!" Great Duke Bobby ordered with great sadness looming over him!
Lord Kazo and the other officials immediately went outside while the young woman stayed hugging Lander's lifeless body crying.
The next minute, another man entered the room and felt sad upon seeing Lander's lifeless body, this man was Ajun who was in disguise. He went towards Lander and gave his respect, kneeling in one knee and his right hand on his chest, "Heroes don't die, not when they're forgotten! I will look up to your bravery and tell the story of the greatest outcast who sacrificed himself for the benefits of our race!"
Hours passed when a ceremonial was given to the dead, only Lander's burial happened inside the cave where Great Duke Bobby met Grey and Yan Yan. There were only four people inside the cave - Great Duke Bobby, Lord Kazo, Ajun and the young woman.
After giving their respect, the four left with one emotion, sadness.
