"Where am I?" Lander woke up with a concussion while covering his nose due to the pungent smell of dried blood all over the place. He noticed he was in a small cell with lots of human skulls and bones scattered everywhere.
In the corner of the room was a dried up corpse sitting. Lander thought he was alive, "Excuse me elder, but do you know where we are?"
A silence occured after that, Lander being intrigued slowly moved closer to the dried up corpse. He then saw the corpse with tattered clothes, "Wait! It's not rotting? A mummy?"
Full of questions, Lander tried to move the corpse to check if it has things that would let him know of his location, "Forgive me my friend to what I'm about to do!"
Checking the corpse, Lander looked over it, checked everything but didn't find anything, "Guess I'll just have to wait!"
Moving back, the corpse suddenly bowed to Lander touching the ground like it was begging Lander. Lander felt a creep seeing the position of the corpse when he noticed a book at the back of the corpse.
"Forgive me my friend, but I will just borrow this for the meantime. I'll promise that I'll return it to you afterwards," Lander bowed after getting the book.
The book was full of dusts and it looked so old, Lander cleaned it up well before opening the book.
'Mid year: year 800 after the emergence of the outcasts, I, Xeo was appointed as the Highest Ranking Knight of the Dragon Empire. After my appointment, I was drugged and just woke up from a bed naked and besides me was also a naked woman. I was happy but when I saw the face of the woman, I was so horrified. She was the concubine of the the Emperor's brother.'
'I was put to jail and was sentenced to Death when the Emperor ordered my banishment. I pleaded him that I didn't do anything yet he told me to get away from the Continent. It was the only thing he could give me as a price to my loyalty and works as the Knight of the Empire.'
'Before I was banished, the concubine of the Emperor's brother visited me and told me to meet her at the Elven Forest after a year.'
'After a year, I visited the Elven Forest and met the concubine of the Emperor's brother. She was holding a baby with her and passed the very innocent one to me, he was our child. She also told me that everything was planned according to the Emperor's brother as he was planning to overthrow the Emperor. Her silence would be her way to live, so the Emperor's brother kept her in his care despite knowing she was carrying another man's child. He told her that the baby will be born but would be killed after a year by the hands of the Emperor himself. It was all the scheme of the Emperor's brother that was why she visited Xeo before he was banished.'
Reading the diary, Lander knew it was a diary but kept on reading as he became intrigued.
'The concubine and me stayed at the Elven forest for a week, made love and showed me how to take care of our child. I was thinking my life could still have a purpose but the concubine, my woman whom I was having a feeling left us.'
'My child and me grew up at the Elven Forest not bothering the Elves, we even offered them foods just to let us stay at their Forest.'
'Sixty years passed when I heard that the concubine of the Emperor's brother was nearly killed. The Emperor ordered the execution of both his brother and concubine, after knowing the scheming plots and their plan. But someone interrupted, it was the man appointed as the next Highest Ranking Knight after Xeo's appointment. He told the Emperor that it was all the concubine's plot so she could rise to power. She was about to be killed when the Emperor's brother pleaded to the Emperor showing how magnanimous he was that he will share the punishment together with his concubine. I knew it was another scheme and I wanted to save my child's mother as he was bugging me every time about her.'
'I left my child at the Drake Region who was already a Master Archer despite me being a Great Grandmaster Swordsman. I told him to wait for me there to find his mother whom he has no idea who she was.'
'I was travelling alone when I noticed people pleading for help. Then there I saw them being eaten, raped and killed by the devils. I, being once a Knight and a saviour of humanity helped them up. Unexpectedly, I was captured by a higher powered official of the devils. I was subdued easily despite being a Great Grandmaster.'
'I woke up and found myself inside a cell of the devils. I was given food once a day. I was thinking of a way to escape but was never given a chance.'
'One day, devils surrounded me and was brought to a certain chamber. There I saw countless humans being tied up as they gave each of them a drink, I don't know what it was but I saw countless humans exploded, some died silently while blood trickled down their mouth, others survived and I was amongst the survivors.'
'Days passed and everyday would be our constant routine, drinking this bitter pungent blood of theirs. Dead bodies were constantly being thrown inside my cell and the other's.'
'Soon, I learned that we were just the experiments. They were trying to turn humans into their own kind and I felt anguish, humiliation and rage. I can't accept this fate so I tried retaliating, but I was easily subdued and they gave me the Curse of the Demon Blood.'
'They told me that the only thing that could save me was their antidote. So they gave me a choice, cooperation or death. And I chose the former as I would never abandon my humanity in me.'
'I thought it would be a quick death! But I was wrong, it would be a constant torture. I greeted my teeth as I prayed that days should pass by as I waited my death, my final moment!'
'I was counting the days, I endured so much that I cried. I didn't cry for my sufferings, I cried instead because I couldn't see my child, I couldn't save his mother. Having experienced every tortures, I'm finally free! My child, my Finn, Forgive this weak father of yours!'
'If ever or somehow a human was able to read this and escaped this gruesome place, please tell my child, my Finn how I loved him so much and that he could forgive me for leaving him.'
"Finn? Sounds familiar." Lander thought as he read the last page of the book, "Isn't he Professor Finn? But according to this diary, he left him at the Drake Region. Maybe not the professor."
