"So, what? We just step through? How do we know it's safe?" Sora inspected the portal.
"I'm pretty sure it's safe," I sighed as I rubbed my forehead. "So just…step through it." I waved my hands like I was shoeing them into the portal.
Hesitantly, though inevitably, they all stepped through, one by one, until finally I stepped through last. The spell worked. We were all in the middle of the Throne Room with the King and Queen sitting at the thrones, a look of surprise on their face. But it soon changed when their eyes fell upon their daughter.
"Silvia!" Her mother ran to her, wrapping her in her arms. The King wasn't far behind and he soon too had the princess wrapped in a hug.
"Thank you!" The King looked at me. "Thank you so much." Tears fell down his face as he hugged on his daughter. The Queen was checking her for any injuries.
"Oh, I healed her. She should be fine. But I suggest she rests for a few days." Rubellia informed the Queen.
"Thank you." She bowed her head before looking at me.
"Was it you who opened that portal?"
"Indeed," I rested a hand on my hip and scratched my cheek with the other as I averted my eyes from her.
"What is this power coming from you?" The King asked as he stood up. "I didn't sense any magic before, and now I sense an incredible amount. The likes of which I've never seen."
"I'm an Arch Mage," I stated blatantly. "And I was suppressing it before. I'm pretty sure I've said this, yes? Or maybe it was that guard?" I put a hand to my chin.
"It…was the guard. So, I guess that's how you scared her, huh? Showing your true power?" He laughed. "No wonder she thought you were the Demon King. You're an Arch Mage." At the mention of the Demon Kings name, Silvia looked over at me, her eyes narrowed. I smiled and waved in return.
Is she…blushing? I wasn't able to tell as she had looked away rather fast when I smiled and waved. Eh, whatever.
"Have you thought of a payment?" The Queen asked. "For saving our daughter, there's nothing you can't ask for."
"Er…no, I haven't thought of anything." I scratched the back of my head.
"Can we offer you a mansion? Do you have a place to stay, or are you in an Inn?"
"Oh, a mansion?" Soras eyes lit up at the word.
"No," I raised my hand to stop Sora. "We already have a house." I put my hands behind my head in thought. "Mmm…nah, I really can't think of anything." Why is it so hard to want something when you're asked what you want?
"And you are sure we can't offer you the hand of our daughter?"
"Wait, what?" The Princess stood up quickly.
"Calm down, Princess," I waved my hand dismissively. "I already said I didn't want that, so you don't need to freak out about it." No Princess ever wants to be married off without actually loving the man. I've learned that from lots of Disney movies.
"W-huh? T-that's not-"
"Cool to promise your hand to a guy you don't know? I know," I frowned at the King and Queen. "How could you do your daughter like that." I waved my finger at them like I was scolding a child. That got the Princess to laugh.
"You're an idiot."
"Oh, he knows," Sora shouldered me jokingly as she walked by. "At least I hope he does."
"If I knew I was an idiot, I wouldn't be an idiot," I frowned. "That's what makes an idiot an idiot. The fact he thinks he smart."
"He's not wrong," Han laughed.
"The ring of repulsion." The voice spoke in my head again. "They have it. Ask for it."
"The ring of repulsion?" I spoke aloud on accident.
"What of it? Oh, is that what you want?" The King asked.
"Er…yeah," I laughed nervously. What the hell is the ring of repulsion?
"Immunity to magic."
Immu-you gotta be joking?!
"Is that really what you want?"
"Why are you asking like that?"
"Well, the ring is said to have strange powers, though it doesn't seem to have any powers when worn, let alone when not worn."
"That is because only a being with high magic can actually fully possess the rings power."
Why does this sound like a film made by Peter Jackson?
"Well, that doesn't matter, I'll still take it." I scratched the back of my head while the Queen took a ring off her finger and handed it over to me.
The ring was straight black and felt cold although it was on the Queens finger not long before.
"It's made of obsidian, if you're wondering why it's cold." The King seemed to have read my thoughts.
"It's looks….nice." No wonder the Queen was wearing it. It can match with almost anything. But there was one issue. "But…I don't have the same size finger as the Queen."
"Oh, it's a magic ring. It'll grow to fit your finger perfectly." The Queen answered. I looked at the ring and picked it up, slipping it on my finger. As I went to put it on the ring grew in size. Once it was around my finger it seemed to shrink and tighten, yet it wasn't cutting off circulation. It was as if it fit to my finger to never come off.
Wait….
I attempted to take the ring off. There was no budge.
"Ummm, guys." I looked at my friends as I tried taking the ring off. "It…isn't coming off."
"That's odd." The Queen said. "That's never happened to me or anyone else before." Han was attempting to remove the ring from my finger as she spoke.
"Ah! S-stop! You're gonna rip my finger off!" I yanked my hand away from him and shook it. "Damn it, well whatever. It can stay on as long as it doesn't kill me."

Oh my….
"You're welcome, Kichirou…" Did he laugh at the end there? I don't know if he's helping me or not.
"Well, I guess we should be going, yeah?" I raised my hand and once again another portal appeared, this time however it would lead us home. "So, let's be going home, I'm tired."
Everyone stepped through one by one until I was once again the last one. "Wait, Kichirou," the King called to me before I stepped through.
