Felgin found himself in an all too familiar situation. This time it wasn't Death, but Pestilence. The man was tearing apart the useless broken electronics and anything else he could get his hands on. Famine had a grim look on his face as he continued to listen to the report of a nervous looking underling on a holographic screen.
"We are down to less than 10 hybrids. Even though they are the strongest of the bunch, they are actually fleeing back towards their chambers. It is almost as if they know that their brethren have fallen. They are acting as if an apex predator is approaching. If the reinforcements do not head to the front lines, the enemy will be upon us very shortly. Please give us the order to retreat or send reinforcements." said the noticeably sweating underling.
"Retreat back to the core area around the void emblem. Set up traps as you retreat and do your best to slow down the intruders. Leave the prisoners for them to rescue as well. We need as much time as possible to finish this operation. You will setup a new front line before the operating area. As soon as we complete the operation, we will flee through the void emblem."
After giving his orders, Famine turned off the screen and focused on calming down Pestilence.
"Pestilence, I know you just lost a bunch of your creations, but we need you to focus on this operation. If you succeed, your future creations will be even more magnificent. They can get your revenge for you 10 times over. Just calm down and take a few deep breaths." said Famine.
Pestilence gradually grew calm and the hissing from his mandibles stopped. He waved Felgin towards the operating room before leaving himself. Felgin followed after him into the operating room.
"Famine, the Grandia Brigade and I will wait at the front line for the enemies. When they see us, they will surely stop their advance. We represent the core of the military and if they offend us, it would lead to total war and Bastion will become fractured. No one will win if that happens. We will try to negotiate a settlement." said a grizzled veteran with an eye patch over his right eye.
"Bartock, please relay our thanks to the higher ups in the military. We will dissolve the Dominius faction and join the military after we finish our mission here." said Famine.
"No, you will not be joining the military. Instead, Lavaris will be absorbing the remnants of Dominius into their ranks. The higher ups are quite unhappy about this entire situation. The only reason why we came was to prevent your capture so that you would not divulge the military's involvement in this matter. After this, our contract for your war machines is null and void. You gave us a promise that the hybrids would be as strong as the juggernaut someday. However, what kind of debacle was this? The hybrids were routed and fleeing for their lives. The military does not need fucking cowards, but unfeeling killing machines. Their future potential does not matter as they have disgraced themselves with their performance. We turned a blind eye to the evils going on down here because we were desperate. When you join Lavaris, you will cease all hybrid research." said Bartock.
"But we are so close to creating sentient hybrids with Felgin as the first of many. Let us.."
"No, if felgin is just as strong as the other hybrids, what use is a sentient one? A sentient one would also be routed." interrupted Bartock.
"You don't understand. Felgin will be far stronger than all the other hybrids! The unconscious hybrids that we will be harvesting parts from were the strongest of the hybrids. They are unconscious because they ate so many zombified babies. When we merge their parts onto Felgin, he would be 10 times..no 20 times more stronger than the average hybrid!" said Famine.
Bartock had a skeptical look on his face as he asked, "Don't lie to me, Famine. Why would Felgin not remain unconscious when you complete the operation, just like the other unconscious hybrids?"
Famine struggled to reveal the truth. In the end, he decided to lay it out all on the table because he knew someone high up in the military knew what was really going on. This was an all or nothing situation. He needed to implicate Bartock and the Grandia Brigade so that they can't say they never knew what was really going on.
"That is because Felgin forced himself on nearly every one of the women that bore zombified babies. He was actually the father of the zombified babies! He impregnated the women before the zombies did. The zombie's semen merely infected the babies and turned them while in the womb. When Pestilence and I discovered the common link between all the babies, we created a serum with the babies' blood before we fed them to the hybrids. Slowly, over time, we injected Felgin as well as the breeding women with the serum to make them immune from the zombification. After a year or so, his body totally acclimated to the serum. Theoretically, this means that Felgin would not become unconscious if he was turned into a hybrid himself. He would also be intimately linked to the zombie parts and be able to draw their full potential out."
Bartock blanched at the revelation. He had no idea that the research was so…evil. They were actually impregnating women with zombie semen? Were they even fucking human? The higher ups never told him that they were doing this. Suddenly, he really hated being here.
Bartock gritted his teeth. Orders were orders. He would do his part here, but when he returned, he would give a piece of his mind to his superiors. If they thought this behavior was acceptable, he would take his men and leave.
He didn't even bother talking to Famine any longer and left. He would still try to negotiate a settlement, but if the opposing side took a stubborn stance, he wouldn't stick his neck out for these demons.
Famine heaved a sigh. He had put out one burning fire, but it seemed never ending as fire after fire seemed to be popping up everywhere.
The greatest fire was whatever was routing the hybrids. It was simply incomprehensible that none of his detection specialists could figure out what was killing the hybrids. They were perishing way too fast. He couldn't understand how the opposing side had such a trump card.

"Someone tell me what is going on here? Who or what is routing the enemy forces? There must be someone who has some idea. I hate not knowing if the mysterious entity I sense is a friend or foe. The only reason we haven't called for a retreat is that none of our forces were attacked." said Tyrin.
The upper echelon of the various forces aiming to destroy Dominius were currently holding a meeting to figure out what was going on. The rest of their forces were pushing forward slowly into the depths.
Everyone kept quiet because they honestly had no clue. Tessa was currently undergoing an inner struggle. She wanted to keep her conjectures to herself, However, if she was right, Kain was too much for her to handle by herself. This was bigger than her faction. She gave a look to the nearby Aleria and it was as if she could read her mind. Aleria gave a knowing smile and nodded her head, urging Tessa to share the information.
"I have a feeling I know what is going on…" said Tessa.
Everyone turned towards her and gave her the floor. She quickly gave a rundown of what she knew about Kain. She even produced the photos that Elsa provided her.
The faces of these leaders couldn't hide their utter shock. How can one person be so strong? Some did not believe Tessa, but there were no other theories as to what was going on. Most likely the entire Council couldn't do shit against Kain if his capabilities were to be believed. There was no way they can antagonize this new force that appeared out of left field.
The faction heads agreed on one thing. They would give Kain plenty of room to do what he came to do. If he wanted to destroy Dominius, they will let him run wild. If he wanted to let them go, they would follow.
The most important thing was to establish friendly relations with Kain. This is the only way they could possibly negotiate with him regarding his secrets.
As the heads continued to refine their plans based on the new information, two girls stepped away from behind Tessa. The two of them entered their personal tent. They were the twins, Kara and Lana. Kara had dark raven-colored hair and all black clothes, while Lana had golden-blonde hair and all white clothes. The two looked exactly alike, except for their hair and eye colors. Both of them were stunning beauties, but there were key differences. Kara had an ice queen's demeanor with frosty blue eyes. Many who wished to approach and talk to her only had to take one look at her eyes and feel intimidated. Lana, on the other hand, was bubbly and cheerful with softer blue eyes. Most men would flock to her like moth to a flame.
The two were telepaths due to being with each other all the time since young. This had nothing to do with their individual powers. They could not read other people's minds, but they could converse telepathically only with each other.
-Sister, what do you think about this Kain? Do you think we are to be gifted to him in order to tie him to the Penta faction? (Lana)
-If he is stronger than both of us combined, then I don't mind if we are gifted. (Kara)
-Hmmm. I can't wait to see you get dominated sister. Tessa kept us virgins for so long, that we eventually had to play with one another to release our sexual tension. I could feel the same pleasure you have when I bring you to orgasm. Would I feel myself being penetrated when you are? (Lana)
Kara couldn't help but grope her sister's boob and kiss her deeply. She felt her boob getting groped through her telepathic link with her sister.
-Even if we are given to this Kain, I will always be yours and you will always be mine. Surely, a man couldn't really give us greater pleasure than the pleasure we can give each other. (Kara)
-I'm not so sure sister…We will only find out once a man beds us. (Lana)
The two continued to make out with one another as their hands slipped down each other's pants.

The void emblem on Dominius' side blazed open into a portal, and a blond-haired man arrived with a few of his followers. The arrogance on his face caused the surrounding guards to recognize him immediately and they made way for him.
Gerris smirked as he walked to the control room.
