"How can this be possible??" yelled out Elisha.
After both Talia and Elisha confirmed their dual abilities through multiple attempts, both of them immediately turned to Kain and waited for an explanation.
"Well, let's just say that it is a part of my ability. I actually just learned how to do it with you two, but I need practice. By the way, you shouldn't tell anyone about having dual abilities as they will have too many questions. Thankfully, force manipulation and magnification can be masked quite easily into earth power and most won't have many questions as long as you keep quiet.
Elisha, if many people know only about your force abilities, you should avoid using the earth power in public as it would be way too obvious. Only practice your earth powers in private until master becomes….I meant I become stronger. Otherwise, we will all be in danger."
Kain blushed in embarrassment as he had a slip of the tongue. All the constant master talk from the two girls seemed to brainwash him for a second. Talia giggled mentally.
Elisha, on the other hand, was experiencing an upheaval mentally. Although Talia had been earnest in calling out master and was determined to call him that for the rest of her life, Elisha was a different story. Sure, Elisha desired Kain and wanted to rip off his clothes and eat him up.
However, desire did not equate to respect. If she had respected Kain, would she have even dared to attempt to take advantage of him while he was unconscious? Every time she called out the word master, it was in order to put herself under him…literally.
However, now things were entirely different. Instead of just naked desire in her eyes, there was also boundless respect for Kain, her master. What was the core reason for why she ultimately decided to take advantage of her master when he was unconscious? It was because all her life, she had to fight tooth and nail for everything.
How many times did she feel unappreciated by others around her because her ability wasn't all that good? Indeed, some looked at her with outright disdain. However, could the world look with disdain at her now? She, along with Talia, were quite possibly the only dual ability users in the world and all of this could be attributed to her master's ability.
She looked at the man before her and mentally branded him into her heart. He was the one who overturned her world and changed the rules of the game. She resolved to openly battle for his affections and if her feelings were not reciprocated, she would still stand by his side.
"Master, thank you!" said Talia and Elisha as they bowed.
Kain was slightly flustered as he changed the topic and said, "The plane will be arriving soon. What do the both of you plan to do when you go back?"
"Master, we should head to Talia's house in the upper district of Bastion. As you know, we are to live together with you. Since Talia already owned a house in the upper district, we don't have to buy a house according to the contract." said Elisha.
"Master, the house is a decent size in a good neighborhood. You will really like it there!" said an excited Talia.
"I won't be heading back with the two of you on this plane. I have to look for my two friends who are still out there somewhere. Don't offer to come with me, please. I need to possibly put myself in dangerous situations to train my ability and increase my power.
I don't know how long I will be out in the field, but just in case, don't just stay and wait at the house. Go and do what you need to do to get stronger. When I return, I may be able to make you two even stronger." said Kain.
Although both of the girls were upset at the news that master wouldn't come, they nonetheless brightened up when they heard that he may be able to make them even stronger still. They reluctantly said their goodbyes while promising to work on their powers.
The girls gave the address to Talia's house in the upper district through the messaging system in the comms link. Kain also borrowed some melee weapons from them and put them in his pocket dimension before waving goodbye and heading to Sylvia's tent.
When Kain arrived at the entrance to Sylvia's tent, he called out, "Hello? May I come in?"
"Come in, Kain." a voice called out.
Kain proceeded to walk in and saw that Sylvia was seated in a chair with a 3D holographic messaging system open in the air in front of her and she was dictating some kind of message. As he stood waiting for her to finish, he overheard pieces of her dictation and she seemed to be sending a message to her father. She finished and then sent out the message before turning around to face Kain.
"I can tell from your expression that you weren't able to find your friends here. That means they were under Gerris' command and they moved on to the target city. The reason why I set up base here and have not moved on, was because I knew the casualties would be too high as there are many groups of zombies and monsters from here to Naren City.
I don't know what Gerris was thinking pushing forward, as there is a high probability that the troops in his division get wiped out. Not only will he get a military demerit, but he will fail those under his command and needlessly lose their lives." said Sylvia.
She smiled as she continued, "I witnessed your growth in power and have no qualms about you staying by yourself to proceed onward to look for your friends. Indeed, this is a great opportunity to test your powers in the field. Remember, small nibbles instead of bites. The most serious danger to you would be if you fall unconscious again with no one to look over you."
A worried look passed over Sylvia's face as she said, "I also have a warning for you. I thought more about that dreamworld you told me about as well as that hazy blue figure. As impossible as it may seem, I believe it was the zombie king. It was when you were absorbing the squealer while unconscious that you entered that dreamworld.
Maybe you might enter into it again if you fall unconscious after absorbing another evolved zombie or monster. Be wary of any future interactions you have with it. If it appears before you, do your utmost to kill it. After you leave here, quickly move as far as possible as it seems to know your location. I shudder to think that he has sent a juggernaut this way."
Kain started sweating as he thought along the same lines as Sylvia. What did the zombie king want with him? How was it able to locate him through the dreamworld? Many questions rang through his mind, but the most important thing at this point was to hurry and find Barton and Desmond and hightail it out of this entire area. He wasn't stupid enough to wait around and see who was coming.
Sylvia watched as Kain seemed to have taken her worries seriously, and then she smiled as she said, "I really don't know when the next time I will see you once you leave here. However, don't believe for a moment that I will let fate dictate when we meet again.
I have already informed my father that I will be moving outside of Taria Academy. I decided to move into the house that your slaves will stay at in Bastion. I feel like I need to keep my eye on the three of you and…your future interactions with them."
Sylvia seemed to want to continue speaking, however, it was at this time that they heard the drone of the transport planes off in the distance. Sylvia started to walk toward the tent entrance, but she stopped next to him and quietly whispered, "Do hurry home, my piglet. I'll be waiting."
Sylvia continued outside the tent and Kain heard her commanding others to prepare to board the planes. Kain watched after the striding, confident Sylvia, as she moved further away. He thought about the interactions he had with her and realized he would deeply miss her.
Kain quickly shook his head and exited the tent. He didn't head towards where the others were congregating, as the planes touched down on the ground. Instead, he quickly ran off in the opposite direction and jumped off the Mesa. He opened his comm link and selected the map to direct him towards the target city and proceeded to set off toward his destination.
He established connection with his only power and every step became increasingly heavy. He dashed forward and thunderous bangs rang out as the earth shuddered with Kain's passing. In his wake, was a devastated landscape and the earth was left scarred.
