"Morning," Dakota said, pushing the hair back away from my eyes, still laying beside me on my bed.
"You're still here," I said, thrilled beyond words, then panic set in. "My father—"
"Left an hour ago for work," he finished. "But we need to get ready for school." Then he gave me a passionate kiss. When he pulled back, he gave me a one last sweet kiss, placing his hands on my cheeks as he looked into my eyes. "I have to go home and get ready. I'll see you at school."
I nodded, sitting up as he walked toward the window. "Dakota, use the door."
He turned around and smiled. "See you at school." Then he climbed out the window and closed the window before jumping out, hardly making a sound.
