That day, school was uneventful. Michelle seemed no worse for wear, and I worked on my Romeo and Juliet essay during class when I could get away with it. Soon, it was time for lunch, so I headed to the cafeteria.
Dakota had already beaten me there, sitting with some of the guys from the pack. He motioned me over when he saw me, having saved a seat for me. I nodded, smiling. After grabbing a salad and a lemonade, I headed over to the table.
"Hey," I said, giving him a peck on the cheek.
"Get a room!" Raina scoffed, a grumpier than she had been, but I wasn't going to take the bait.
"Okay," I replied, smiling. "We'll save our public displays of affection down to a minimum."
She sighed. "Thank you!"
I narrowed my eyes at her. "Raina, what's wrong? Is everything okay?"
Raina sighed. "I spoke to my father about what you said, going before the Great Spirit as a cure, and he said it could work… or not."
"So, we're back to square one," I replied, stirring my salad.
