"Well, we'd better get going so we can check on Michelle," I said, eager to catch all the werewolves once and for all. "Have you eaten anything yet?"
Dakota nodded. "I ate earlier, but I can always hunt, if you like."
I shook my head. "No, I just ate. Want to run or take your truck?"
"Let's take my truck." He smiled. "After our patrol tonight, we probably won't feel much like running back. Besides, we have school tomorrow."
"Sounds good." We headed toward the truck and Dakota opened the door for me, ever the gentleman. Then he slipped into the driver's seat a moment later, started the truck, and headed out. Then I thought of something and laughed. "It seems funny, thinking about going back to school after everything we've been through this weekend." I watched the sun already starting to fade from the sky through the window.
Dakota smiled, looking over at me. "You get used to it after a while."
