"So, tell us about this letter." I show them the letter Kaigara found.
Mom and dad look at each other. Mom says,
"We're sorry Kai and dense. We're going to tell you about it today. I'm sorry that you guys had to find it like this."
"So, you're just gonna leave us like this?!" , I feel tears on my cheek.
"I wish we could stay. But it's direct orders from the president. I don't want to leave even now. We're being forced to do it. A bus will come to pick us up tommorow."
"Mom, you guys are going to come back, right?" Kaigara says while keeping himself from crying.
"Of course we are, honey."
"You are going to call us daily?"
"I don't think they are gonna let us use phone due to danger of information getting leaked but we'll write you letters."
"So, this is probably the last time I'm hearing words coming straight from your mouth?"
"We'll come back. Why are you saying it like that?!"
"Just analyzing the possibilities. So, these are your last words to me and Dense?"
"I don't know honey."
"Ren!! You shouldn't say like that!!", dad says to mom.
It's rather surprising that I didn't know her name till just now. And yet I keep calling her mom.
"Dad, what is your name?", I asked.
"You don't know it?", Dad laughs, " Wow!", he keeps laughing, "it's Kaito."
Kaito kun and Ren san. What a lovely match this is! Weird combination, yet heart warming.
"You guys wouldn't even know when time passed by. Besides, uncle Ben will take care of you both. He'll come tomorrow morning just before we leave."
Kaigara hugs them both and says, Just be safe you two. Got it?"
"Yes, we will be.", they hug him back.
I open my eyes feeling a cold breeze coming through the door. It's almost 4am now. The sun will rise any moment now. Probably, the last few hours of this 'happy family' life of mine. Reminds me of how temporary things can be.
I go to the balcony only to find Kaigara standing there. He is the reason why my peaceful slumber was broken. Idiot!
"What are you doing here?"
"Nothing, waiting for the moment come. It still feels unreal."
"You know, looking at you breaking down is what is unreal to me."
"Yeah?"
"I never seen you break down like that before."
"Well, now you did."
"Everyone has problems in life, huh?"
"Yea. We always just look at the protagonist, his problems, his outlooks, even the path he takes is layed out exactly for him. I mean think about this, what are the odds that you encounter a dragon and it can be killed with only one sort of magic and you own it. Even so, we enjoy the story. You know why? Because, we just look at him just like we only look at ourselves in the real world. We don't see what others are going through or their part of the story, we just want to look at us and think it's the standerd of the world."
"I guess you are right there. I used to envy you. For having good grades, a caring family, friends and stuffs. I mean, my mother just left me for another man she likes. She never even thought what will become of me. My dad just sat there, he didn't even say 'no' to her. But looking at you closely, I can see, everyone has their fare amount of pain. And now, it's my pain too, coincidentally."
"Ow look the sun is up"
It sure looks beautiful. Somewhat sad as well. This is the sun that will take my new family away from me.
"Time, you cruel gipsy man!"
"Is that all? You have everything you need?"
"Yes, we do."
"Alright. Let's get in people. We have more stops to make."
"I guess this is goodbye dad. See you soon."
"Take care sons."
"Bye, mom."
"Bye, honey."
The door closes cutting the ties between family, while the bus leaves us only smoke and noise as a piece of balm.
