Chapter 4 - Companions

She went to the back and sat by the window. She looked out the window and was daydreaming until someone interrupted her thoughts.

"Hey, the name's Luca, Luca Riva," he said.

"I'm Kyo, this is Vance, the other one is Ace, and that one is Cecil," the dude beside Luca said.

Alice stared at them and turn her head back towards the window.

She felt a connection towards him. She felt intense stares by her side and was guessing that it was the dude beside her. Alice turned her head to see him.

"Did you need anything?" she looked at Luca.

"Can I borrow a pencil?" he asked.

"Don't you have your friends over there who you can ask?" Alice questioned.

"I don't wanna bother them," he answered.

"Fine," she said and pulled out a pencil for him.

Throughout the class period Luca kept bothering her and asking her random questions. Finally the bell ranged and she got up for her next class. Following beside her was Luca.

"Hey what's your next class?" Luca asked.

"Anatomy and Phys. now can you stop bothering me?" Alice walked faster.

She looked at the map and tried to find her way but she guessed that she will be late to class. She also finally got rid of Luca for now since they didn't have the same class. The same thing happened again, Alice had to introduced herself but this time she sat in the middle by some girls. Ahh she just want to sit by the window then things would be less awkward and uncomfortable for her. Alice sat down in her seat and was bombarded with names and questions.

"Hi, my name is Vivian, Vivian Riva," she said.

"This is Sora, Lola, and Calliope," she introduced the other girls.

"Hi, nice to meet you," the other girls said.

Alice bowed slightly and payed attention to class this time because her seat wasn't by the window. Things were going smoothly throughout the morning until lunch came by. She didn't really know anyone here and decided to go outside and look around for a place to sit. Alice didn't really eat lunch so she was fine. Lunch only lasted for an hour so she had to hurry up, she found a spot behind the school where there was a little pond and a table by it with benches.

Alice sat down and started to write peoples name onto a sheet of paper, most of the students here were humans and werewolves. There was a little percentage of any other supernaturals but she still wrote their names down in case they were a threat. How she concluded this data was by observing their movements and some of the werewolves were growling. Hopefully she smelt like humans by other supernaturals, no one should find out that she was a phoenix or else she would be put in a difficult situation.

"Are you doing homework?" a male voice asked.

Alice turned back and saw Luca and his friends along with the girls she sat by. She shoved the sheet of paper into her binder and got up.

"Ehhh are you going? Why not stay longer with us?" Vivian pouted.

"It's alright, I don't want to be a nuisance," Alice started walking.

"Come on just for a little bit," Sora pulled her back and sat her down.

Alice sighed and sat by the edge and went on her phone.

"Is that your phone? Do you have a phone number?

Let me give you my phone number," Calliope went by her side.

The others started to do the same too.

"So Alice, how old is your brother?" Kyo asked.

"21," she answered.

"Does goes to college around here?" Lola asked.

"He's studying abroad," Alice said looking down on her phone.

"What about your parents?" Vance putted his hand on his chin.

"They work in another city," she responded.

"So you live alone?" Luca questioned.

"Yes," she uttered.

Alice looked at the time and got up.

"It's almost time for class, I'm gonna go first," she said and walked away.

The next class was going to be dreadful for her because she had gym and she didn't know what games they played. What was worse was she was stuck with Luca and some of the others. Alice knew she was gonna be bothered by them again, couldn't they leave her be in peace?

"Okay class, we'll start the class off by running around the track for 15 minutes," the teacher shouted.

15 minutes!? Was she going to survive this? She may be a phoenix but a phoenix flies they don't run fast like other supernaturals unless they were in their human forms. This was going to be tiring for her and she might only finish 4 laps in those 15 minutes.

"Okay start running," the teacher shouted.

Luca, Ace, and Cecil started racing each other along with the other students. Alice was only running for a little bit but slowed down and was jogging instead. Someone started jogging by Alice's side and it was none other than Mr. Always Bothering Her.

"What lap are you on?" he asked.

"1st lap," she answered.

He was going to say something until he was interrupted by Cecil and Ace.

"Stop flirting with her Luca and start running," they both said before sprinting off.

"Well I guess I have to catch up to them before they beat me, I'll talk to you later," he said and sprinted off.

"They suck for leaving you behind but it's okay I'm here now," a voice beside her said.

Alice turned to her side and saw Lola jogging beside her. Lola smiled at her and continued to talk to her. She didn't want to answer so she just nodded her head every time she agreed with what Lola said. The 15 minutes were finally over and the teacher told them group up into pairs, so she was with Lola. They passed a football to each other until the end of the hour. Class ended like that and for the rest of the day she was stuck with one of the boys or girls. School ended at 3:20 and she walked another devastating 30-40 minutes home.

When Alice got home she made herself a snack and went to her room and did her homework. It only took her about an hour and a half to finish all of it so after it she decided to finish off the names of the students and staff. She only knew some students and staff she had class with but she also paid attention to those in the hallways. After finishing her list of names it was already 7'o clock meaning she had to go take a shower and go to sleep to get ready for tomorrow. Alice was done showering and dried her hair, she putted on some clothes and went to sleep.

'Why am I looking forward for tomorrow? I must be tired.'
