Aya's POV
When it was discovered that Mako had passed, the Main Council was informed. It would be quite a while until they arrived, but they were definitely coming.
I spent my days in the forests mourning my losses. Though it was strange. There were times when I would walk the familiar grounds, and other times when it seemed not so familiar. The tree types would change and the brush too; even the sounds of the birds would become extremely different in their sounds. I didn't know what to make of it, at first.
At least not until I went walking out with Lok and we had been talking, then suddenly he was gone and the sounds of men's voices reached me. Their language was foreign to my ears.
I turned my head slightly and Lok stood there in silence, concern etched on his face. "Aya, are you back yet?" he whispered to me.
I shook my head trying to get the different sounds from my mind. "What do you mean? I have always been here."
